Im going to start keeping my cycle on stands. Im not worried about tires. Im think fluids leanning to one side causes crank case seals, covers to fail sooner using kickstand on older cycles. At least on the stands, oil is level in the pan and in nooks and crannies. Brake fluid in the reservoir is not pitched consistently to one side. Idk
I'm in Alabama, USA. Our winter's are mild and being a real Biker I ride year round. We do get a small amount of snow every 3 or 4 years and when that happens officials call it a snow day 'holiday' and everyone gets the day off. It'll be gone that afternoon so salt is never spread on the roads so we don't have rotted out vehicles. My 1984 Dodge truck still looks like new underneath with no rust at all.
Excellent tips. I had an issue, not a big deal, well i hope not. The bike is upright on a J&S Jack. I added the fuel stabilizer and filled the gas tank to the brim. I let the bike run for about 10 minutes. I walked away and came back around 15 minutes later and there was a small pool of gas on the floor. It probably came from the overflow? but couldnt see the exact location (dripping was between the engine and rear tire). All tubes and hoses are intact nothing runnning along the sides of the bike. Anyway, the gas dripping stopped and the tank is still filled to the top. 2020 heritage classic, with almost 500 miles on it.
Hi. Good and clear tips. Just a question: What you suggest to protect the brake discs during winter time?. My bike is parked in the garage. Thanks in advance.
Yes have considered it myself. I had it on my last bike but wasn’t overly impressed with the claims at the time but all in all it’s ok but expensive. I still may consider it but really I should’ve done it when I first bought this bike. It’s almost futile now
I always inflate my tyres a little more and make sure the bike is on a stand 300kg on the side stand at the back of the garage no way am i moveing it to and fro in winter. Apart from that yeah spot on i use a shooter for the tank to stop the injectors from getting damaged wash the bike but i dont use lubricents for the bike just wash and propely dry it cover over 6 months later i and the bike awake maybe..

I keep the tank full and ride when it’s dry out. Dress appropriately NYC last 2 winters not bad, let’s hope for 3!
Always use a battery tender too

Hey Tony, yep sounds like it's the overflow. All the best
@@RevelatorAlf Not a big deal, right?
@@tonyj8947 should be ok just where you overfilled that's all. Just monitor it for now

Great tips as always... Thanks
What are your thoughts on ceramic coatings recently got my Harley done to try help with keeping corrosion away during bad weather

Friend of mine had it done, the bike looks amazing and really protects the finish .

What’s your thoughts on riding the Uk’s salt covered roads - do you do it?
Yes I do. Just regular washing of the bike and apply moisture repellent
