I grew up in Leona and the names you see on the wall of the Leona General Store made me smile. Curtis Easterling is such a wonderful man. Louis Miller was my "Uncle Louis". When my great grandfather passed in 1996, he was always there for me and my great grandmother. I would go to his house often in Leona since it was right down the road on 977 from me. When he passed it honestly broke my heart and I cried more for him than my great grandfather. He was the owner of Miller Supply which was a hardwore store that my great grandmother worked for 20 years. That entire town and Centerville both are where my heart lies and I will return one day one way or another.
I'm a Centerville local. Wish you had included the filming you did at Country Cousins, a very cool place also! Maybe, you can include it in a BBQ episode and dedicated to Rusty Teston memory. Another cool area is Groesbeck, Texas. Fort Parker State Park and The Confederate Veteran Cemetery/ Reunion Grounds.
I've been watching since season 2 on PBS and it's so cool to see how much this show has changed in style, it's always a fun watch! I travel for work, but live in TX so when I'm missing home I pop these eps on and I feel much better (and have new ideas for road trips when I'm home!)
Driven Dallas to Houston 1 time? And you call yourself a Texan....come join the traffic jam Chet!!! LOL I really don't want to know how many times I've driven to Houston from Dallas. I just know it's a LOT. Stopping in Centerville, you gotta do it man. Gotta fuel up the car and the stomach and relive some stuff as well. I think that guy measuring the ribeye's for the Leona General Store got fired....they are now charging $1.75 per oz over 10 oz. LOL
I grew up in Centerville. I don't recommend living there if you have kids. The schools are not good man. If you wanna just live out on some cheap land, Leon county has some beautiful plots.
I also grew up in Centerville and my experience with the school was a nightmare. Loved my teachers but like, the kids were awful to me. Like absolutely awful. I don't remember much about the school system as a whole compared to others like when I moved to Houston but I would never let my kid go to school in Centerville just from the lack of care the school seemed to have about how I was treated (yes situations occured where even the police had to get called).

Rusty was such a good good man.
I’ve always loved going into Woody’s. I got my mom hooked on that store before she passed away.
I have lived in Texas all my life. Love to watch your videos. I plan our vacations by watching you. Have not been disappointed yet.😊

Yeah, Good job Chet.
All Daytripper episodes make me smile!

Woodys, you can’t travel I-45 without stopping by there.
The BLTs at Woody’s are the best. Smoked bacon is the key.
