Hey, D.J. I just got my Rock Paper Pencil. Does Astropad know you're doing The Lord's work? It's solidly the best matte I have ever drawn on. Thanks for the tip!

I can’t draw a lick but wanted to improve the note taking on my iPad mini. I first tried Paperlike but while it works well I did not get the application quite right and there was a bubble or two showing underneath. The Rock, paper, pencil product is much, much easier to apply and it is reusable. The metal pen tip seems like a must to pair with the protector. My experience has been a good one. I must say that for longer note taking, the various e-ink devices on the market are preferable; however, RPP is a very good product for use on the iPad. No doubt, Apple may have some ideas of how to improve the pencil experience on the iPad going forward but until then, RPP is a go in my opinion.

I also used many Matte Covers including Paperlike. I hadn't tried the PenTips one but bought the RPS cover and it's amazing. I have another iPad I use mostly for reading, but bought another RPS cover for it and got another Apple Pencil to use it for drawing on the go as my main iPad is in a Sketchboard Pro Stand in kind of permanent situation.

So, for a multipurpose iPad, drawing and photo review, should you use a “permanent” regular tempered glass screen protector first, then just snap the astopad on when it’s time to draw? Would a double layer affect the pencil feel or line control? Or does the Astro pad have to go directly on the bare screen?

How long did you use it for? I saw another review recently about this product and he said it only lasted him about a month. It was still usable after a month but it just had a lot of scratches and he draws for like 8 hours a day. So I'm sure it would last longer if you drew way less than that
