I have an ez pop up tent that fits perfectly over my SUV $75 walmart, I tie my poles down with either half gallon milk jugs with sand and gallon jugs with sand, tie down mine on the front corners then tie off the back one's, done, literally takes me 5 minutes, but I've been doing it for 5 years, haven't even needed to replace my Ez pop up... I'm a tent sleeper so putting my other 2 person tent takes 5 mins... done .... I love setting up camp quik and easy.. sit back and enjoy.... thanks Mike for the great video, many of these guys on here will enjoy this. .. am I the only women here on your channel? Well I don't care because I'm an outdoors women....
FYI, The ARB Screened in room fits this awning. I have a video showing it on my channel. I just added a second awning to the other side. I Love mine! Keep up the good job!
I've also seen so many of these on the internet. Looks like they hit a home run with that product! That'll be nice to have if it's raining, you can have side window open!
Yeah I'm hoping I can have a window open without it dripping in behind the awning, I plan to try it out whenever it actually rains here 😂

Best $100.00 a truck camper could spend. Beats my tarp and squeeze clamps. As always I appreciate what you do.
Its definitely more convenient than a plain old tarp
Tractor Supply, get mesh tarps clamp on to awning instant walls ,no bugs. Just a idea , I've made sun rooms out of them in Az desert.They are tough tarps .

Pretty nice, but I like a 10 x 10 pop-up better. Started with a truck tent, but didn't like not being able to just drive off on a short excursion without disassembling.
I have a pop up like that, its just a huge bag to drag around. I think this thing will come in handy

On. Take a bolt and drill a hole on thread side. Then you can put a R pin to hold it. That might work. Nice job

When you were mounting it to the top, it helps if you stick out your tongue and bite it just a little bit.
Man that's perfect for some quick shade! I know some of the camp sites you've had there wasn't really much shade, that would be perfect for that!

Looks like it took right about 3 minutes and 10 seconds to set up. That's not bad at all! I've seen a lot of people make their own, but for the price you really can't go wrong.

Just purchased one last week and even got a AAA discount & free shipping. had it in 3 days. So happy with it and it's a great value. Stakes are weak sauce but I have real ones to use .

The awning is a game changer. I have a truck tent for my Silverado that I only get to use a few times a year. At some point I'm going to copy quady if I know I'll have an opportunity to get away more often.
Even if you don't, I find that having the topper is a great addition for hauling things, unless you constantly have tall things in the bed. I've moved love seats, washers, dryers, etc in the back with it all closed up

Nice find! Thank you for sharing. I'm thinking about getting two, then craft the 2nd one into a round shape to cover the rear. Also, I'm from NY and live in CO, and I swear you first said ruuf, v roof the first time...sorry, just sometimes it's nest, and funny, to hear the differing dialect we all have. Quady, I am laughing my ass off. I have been watching you for the past 6 months to get ideas for my Truck cap build. I was just about to go to bed and said lets check TH-cam and you pop up with the NAPA awning. I had purchased it last Thursday online and picked it up on Saturday. I did not want to drill into my Thule bars, so I used 3 stainless U-bolts on each bar with a bracket under each to secure the L bar.
I am going to Oshkosh air show Saturday for a week, so the awning will come in handy. Look forward to more of your vids. I'd like to send you pictures of my set up. Let me know how we can communicate .

Catching up on the videos. I have used a ton of your ideas in my own truck cap camper. This awning looks like a winner. I Have tracks mounted to my topper from the factory (Thule) but the cross bars are are so damn expensive especially if I plan on drilling through them. What type of cross bars are you using in your setup?

Did you fabricate your own roof rack? Is it just corner brackets and a bolt drilled through square tubing? I'm looking to build a very similar awning setup for my camper shell so any pointers would be appreciated.
I spent about 80 bucks home building one of these and it's only 6x8. Wish I would have seen these.

Just an fyi add more rivets along the rail. I almost lost mine because some idiot decided to use smaller rivets on some of the holes so they popped out

All these awnings are made in the same factory and branded by the company. ARB, Roam, CVT, etc. Just like RTT's. I paid 250 for a Roam and it is great but after seeing this, it is exactly the same. The mounting plate and hardware, the pole hardware, where they place the logo, the fabric, is the same spec, everything looks identicalI have some nice paracord zipper pulls, and a cool logo patch, and the choice of 3 colors, but this is identical. I am for sure buying this for my current build. BTW I still cannot put this thing up by myself. It's like the three stooges when I try so kudo's on your self set up. I have poles falling and flipping and just an overall s**t show.
Where did you get your roof rack cross bars? That is just the low profile look I'm looking for.

It was easier to put away than setup although I did figure out an easier way to set it up already

Lower your poles when it rains so it runs off the top, or else you'll have water pooled up in the middle and could fall in.. just an FYI
What made you install it on the passenger side and not the drivers? Just curious.
Local campsites typically have everything on the passenger side since they're setup to have an rv or camper back in.

The roof bars came with an old "Surco" brand basket I had on the roof, the brackets are homemade and I ordered the topper with the mounting tracks. I did get the plate, thank you! I'll give you a shout out in an upcoming video 👍

It would also shade the camper window while inside.
So a 10x10 for the same price, that can be set up anywhere around the truck and not risk tearing your truck up when there's high winds.. seems gimmicky. Cool, but about as gimmicky as RTT or truck bed tents imo. But either way, thanks for displaying the product so we can form our own opinions of it. I like your DIY set up.
I have a Leer camper topper on my GMC. Will I have to drill holes into my shell?

Where did you get those roof rack bars? I have a Suburban that has the tracks for a bar and originally It should have come with 2 bars but mine were missing when I bought it used. I would love to do what you just did to your truck. Let me know man!!!
The crossbars came with an old "surco" brand basket I had but could easily be replicated with some 1 or 1.5 inch square tube, the little L brackets that attach the bars to the tracks are homemade out of 16g steel. Really simple 👍
Also maybe check your local salvage yard, might be able to find a factory set or something else that will fit

I've seen a few awnings like that. Don't be worried about setup, I'm already getting better at it
Is the reason you don’t want racks and awnings about not looking stealthy or is weight on the canopy a big issue. I have a Leer canopy on my Tacoma DCLB and I want to order a roof rack with a long narrow basket and a enclosed carrier (Thule or Yakima).appreciate any thoughts you might have on this. Love your channels don’t videos.
A roof rack full of stuff like that just screams "steal me" mostly. There is also the weight factor but thats not too bad. I've been looking at some of the enclosed carriers also, it seems like the best option in my opinion.
Hey man I've been watching your videos for a while about a year I have almost the same setup that you do (down to the fan). I have a Yakima rack that I put my kayak on do you think that would fit on it? (The awning)
