I did similar but instead of adding the drop down regulator I used 5V from the Cerbo GX USB port.(cannibalised an old USB cable to get access to the 5v output). I used the Touchscreen power USB socket on the Cerbo as I don't use a display but the standard USBs should also be able to supply sufficient power if you do use a display.
