All in one is much cleaner, simpler and lighter than 4 different items shoved on there making a clown car out of a rifle.
I like the single to double myself. Magpul makes a really good one you get the both of both worlds.

A weapon will never be less effective if you are also a warrior in body & Mind. Being smart, as in reading books and studying even after you graduate is as important as training on the range everyday going for a newrecord on the dummy course.
Lastly being an confident fighter in your head is NOT the same an actual fighter. Wrestling, Judu, BJJ is a must for at the absolute basics at the very least.
Don't be a tired fish in the tank trying to not get eaten, just because you are too proud to admit that you were wrong. Just a simplentoss can end a confrontation before it has even begun. Extremely effective stuff.
Naturally you should also be effective in boxing/Elbowing/Headbutting/ Palmstrikes ect. That means as much in defense or even better in the offensive parts.
Knees are great
Leg kicks in all technical aspects are great, but not made against a grappler who was faster tan you in their actions.
Also never hold back when someone is trying to cripple you or choke you. Who knows what your A-hole will think of you finally wake up.
By holding back I'm taking about all the illegal moves in combats sports. Anything goes in a street/Robbery situation. Especially if they are more than you.
Yadda-yadda I can go on forever about the basics.
