brilliant video! Makes me want to try out kitbashing myself :) I was thinking maybe you can make the back wings come out of the chaos marine backpack thrusters (where it's skulls, instead of the regular exhausts). So the wings can come out of the "skull's" open mouth. Anyway just a thought, good luck!
Hey Chris! I hope you feel better, you are one of the few artists I'm dropping automaticaly a like since some weeks. You deserve more recognition for the awesome content. I'm not into W40k but I'm always look your videos multiples times because there are so much to learn. Thanks man!
@@jorgemontero6384 Yeah, that's one barrier. I can sculpt to fill assembly gaps, but it takes a while until you can make major details that are indistinguishable from the original kit after painting. I wish I had the motivation to practice it, but doing it to fill gaps is my least favourite part of mini prep work by far. Don't have the patience, hah.
wow that must be scary as a content creator, to upload 2 hours of editing knowing it could disappear in to the algorithm voids!? good luck sir. Like, subscribe, share and comment people.
I kind of suspect its a compilation of previously patreon only content edited together for reason of a sponsor ... ? I mean, this would be half a years output for tovarions regular uploading speed and volume, and it's several different projects which would each take at least days to finish up just the conversion work without capturing footage or anything. Either this was one hell of a baller sponsoring ... or ... ?
It's insane how B tier content creators (I'm fine with them, even like some) take something from Chris... or the latest they watched from Marco, whoever, then they poorly replicate it and their vids do well, but the source creators are always struggling. I mean, I've really seen average painters (I'm really fine with them really not trying to sound harsh) repeating mantras, not really knowing what or why they're doing (Tommy Soule has been always very vocal about this). You said scary but I feel that's more like off putting and disheartening. BTW user interaction! This is good for the algorithms, cheers! 😅
@thomads3890 Kind of suspect ? Chris openly says he put together these old videos within the first 30 seconds... not I watched the "sister of brother" conversion video like 1 year ago, no Patreon involved. 😊 There are very prolific content creators and very few powerhouses: you name them: Chris, Sergio Calvo (may not be the case because you can't extract 'gimmicks' out of his teachings so easily), Marco Frisoni, Roman Vincent... you get the idea. These dudes need a certain amount of time (and experience) to release a video on a subject. Then average painters take that knowledge pill and make fast easy content out of it (underpinning/ grisalle turning into slapchop or using oils as 'contrast killer method') You get the idea. It's cool to have tons of content so painters van get both informed and entertained. But it comes to a point where the EZ entertaining content overflows the feed and the resourceful informative content get buried under, not receiving love. That's why IMHO he's doing this: to re float the topic.😊 Cheers!
For what it's worth: yes, this is a complation video like stated in the intro, edited in a way where the topics build on each other. I wanted to do it for a while, just like I did with the grimdark space marines (which is now my most watched video at almost 450k views), because new viewers sometimes don't know the old stuff and sometimes I will take some parts for granted and not explain them a third time - but in a compilation they are explained and then built upon. I find that very educational. I have a few videos I plan as a series these days, which will end up as compilations for educational purposes, almost like you would structure a "how to paint minis" book for example. Also a lot of people like to throw them up on the TV and watch them in one go. And yes, I asked into the AM if they want to sponsor it, because it simply helps. We are not talking about "new Lambo" money here, we are talking about worrying about rent 1 month less and maybe pay an editor for the next video. Less worrying helps me be more creative, and to work on more videos. I think it's a win win.
@trovarion win win for me too... I consume your content on my TV so I can dive into details easily while chilling in the living room. Lambo joke cracked me up 😃
Literally I spent a half hour combing through your videos like a week ago to showcase your kit bashing skills and techniques to send to my friend last week. How dare you put the perfect video out after my efforts? 😂 Seriously this looks amazing. Thanks for the video and all your hard work!
Your mister of battle is absolutely hysterical and amazing and I love it. I'm so tired of people politicizing everything including games and this is the exact response that we need. Just do what makes you happy and don't worry about other people. I look forward to seeing more of your passion projects as opposed to just let the new fomo is
Saw each of those individual videos when you released them and gladly listened to them in the background again with this compilation during my hobby session. All for the algorithm!
I'm a fairly new sculptor and I DID the thing buying the packages with all the cool looking tools and tried using them haha! While I found other usages for them later I never used any of them for sculping in clay after the first try. My favorite beginner tools so far? A scalpel and toothpicks. I've made plenty of fur coats and hats fiddling with these and it's really fun! My next step is trying out your tips and tricks :) thanks for making this video!
3:51 so fucking true for the Scale Bro’s website. The amount of sick helmet designs paired with ones I’ll never use is ridiculous. Every 5 helm pack has 2 I like and 3 I don’t and to top it off with shipping and the high price point makes them a hard sell. I hope that dude see’s this vid and makes some good innovative changes to his website/packing formula. It’s a damn shame cause I think those bits could be more common among the 40k crowd
I tend to get back to my miniatures every winter and I've been watching some of your videos for the last few days and have gotten many great ideas and new things to try. Thanks!
Awesome stuff. True quality content rather than some of the usual clickbaity filler from some other channels. Hope it gets the views it deserves. The only suggestion I would have is to add chapters for easier navigation in the video.
Great video!! I love kitbashing and conversions; it's my favorite part of wargaming. I converted all of my CSM models into mutants, about 3000 points at the time. Last year I converted an AoS gargant into a sitting position giving the opposing models a big middle finger for a friend of mine.
Love your compilation videos, Kitbashing always feels stressful so seeing videos like this make it seem more manageable as long you go slow and take your time. Which can be hard because inspiration can make one very excited
A fantastic conversion Trovarion! The attention to detail was impressive and it has certainly given me some great ideas. I’m certainly looking forward to see you paint it, ready for competition. As for the kit-bashing videos; all I can say is please keep them coming!

I've done most of my scupting with a normal sort of thickness sewing needle mounted in some PCL plastic to make a nice handle. But I have found those 'default' sculpting tools very useful for the wide variety of shapes they come with - its a good roughing tool, does a good job of pushing stuff around in that early phase. Plus those tools are cheap and have enough meat in them you can reshape the tips for textures you need to stamp out.
The pin vice you use, used to be sold by GW - I purchased ( and still use) mine back in 1997 when I had to pin Nagssh's arms on 💪 Lovely conversions as well - something I definitely want to do more of in the coming year. Thank you!

The Brother of Battle was phenomenal
as someone who went straight to kitbashing after just a month in the hobby (on nearly 1½ years now)
i thank you for this vid❤❤

That first conversion that had a nightlord look would be a good GD piece. Such a cool take on the chaos marine, and it follows all the rules.

Loved the nightlord conversion, you should definitely post a video of you painting it.
So good. Thank you for sharing this.
Ok first video i see of your channel, you make the perfect Coteaz, following is mandatory! Congrats for the work done so far!
Perfect timing I’m working on my first space marine and wanted to customise him!
You are a conversion beast! Amazing stuff!
Algo friendly comment: Also, 2hrs of kitbashing. EXCELLENT!
Man your content is such top notch shit and your skills are unreal.
We are all lucky to have you in this community.
Tamiya quicktype putty is also excellent. Easier to blend than greenstuff, not as grainy as milliput and also sandable.
Thanks for this one. After your job on Coteaz, I was keen to do more conversion
This was helpful, thank you!
The night lords conversion is a masterpiece 👏🏼
I never knew I needed a Misters of Battle army, until now!
The Dark Angel was god-like, loved it!
Holy Crap! That is a video and a half. Thank you for ruining my night with an awesome video 😁
80% of the hobby for me is building, kitbashing and converting. Then i have to paint lol. I mean, i enjoy painting but i enjoy building WAY more.
Can we see a destroyer lord in a silver nnm? I'd really love to see how that would look and learn some idears, love your painting style btw🎉
Only on the first mini atm, but your sculpting skills are incredible. Amazing stuff, dude, amazing.
EDIT - my only disappointment is not seeing it painted! Can't wait for that in a future vid down the line!
EDIT 2 - the paint job on the sister is epic; painted mini need satisfied!
That was an amazing video thanks for all the hard work and advices
best video on kitbashing on the internet, thank you!
Totally awesome video!!!

Love the long form content !

Their plastic glue is at least competitive.
Their primer, expensive, but for me, best out there... With the perfect amount of acetone in it.
Their paints, we all know are an expensive decent option... Specially the Contrast range for some unique practical uses.
Their miniature holder is nice, but cumbersome and unstable, and everything else they slap their logo on, better run away.

(Sorry for my poor English)
hes said in old sculpting videos that he uses standard milliput
@@GoalOrientedLifting ty for your answer, I remember it, but the milliput look so white on video that i had a doubt
standard miliput is good enough! the superfine white becomes too brittle and is so much more hassle to work with. It's even stickier than standard.
