1:10 - 2:00 I feel you! As someone whose first bike was a sportbike, spending my younger days with what feels like unlimited energy was exhilarating! But as years passed by, and got older my body started to complain - even when at times my mind still wants to. Dang I relate so much! 😂
Great video. People need to stop comparing these bikes. Yamaha never marketed the R7 as a substitute for the R6. All it is doing is filling a void between the R3 and the R1 in the middleweight class. It's an entry-level supersport with it's ergonomics and output. The R7 is a bike you can kind of commute on in the weekday and track on the weekends without really needing to change anything. It comes with duel front rotors, adjustable front and rear suspension, Brembo radial master cylinder front brakes, fairings with openings for aftermarket frame slider access, optional factory/race Akra exhaust system and an optional quickshifter. Not only does this bike have many of the features of the R6 and R1, it has things that both of those bikes don't too, including some of the aforementioned. It's a different bike serving a different purpose. If you put the R7 next to the R6, of course the R6 gaps it. They aren't the same. It's like saying the Ninja 650 was meant to be a replacement for the ZX-6r. It's just not true. Overall, great video.
💯 that’s kinda the point on why we did it this way, coz so many people asked us if the R7 was a step up from the R6…. Wanted to show it’s not the same.
@@jinnorufino3796 I wasn't talking about the video but the fact that even in the comments people keep comparing them like "the R6 is better, the R7 is never going to be the next R6" like bro, it was never supposed to be. It's a different bike.

I bought a new R7 instead of a used R6 because I, as a beginner rider, wanted a supersport feeling without the sheer power a supersport has. Also I love that Yamaha is the only company that makes a true middleweight supersport. The Ninja 650 and CBR 650R are touring bikes and that I don’t like
Great video, just a slightly weird complaint. All the millimeter and centimeter talk is fine on seat height, but you then say you are 5 foot 6. Which I can just google the conversion, but kind of a weird comparison.
Completely understand, but it’s a bizarre thing in the Philippines, where everything is mixed up due to being colonized by Spain and technically US…. We only measure our height in feet everything else is measured using the metric system.
@@jinnorufino3796 That's totally fair, makes sense in certain parts of the world now. That and certain jobs and military applications are also done in Metric from time to time.
You are right, the R7 outperforms the R6 in the lower ranges until it reaches the 10k rpm range. That's also the reason why you'll get more out of the R7 on track than the R6, unless you can keep the R6 revved up high.
Up. Wasnt able to fully understand if this has a sound of an inline4 engine, because as much as i can hear it, its not. Please explain if i am wrong or not. Thank you. ❤
I don't get why the sv650 sport got a pass and was never compared to the gxsr 600, but the r7's always compared to the r6. Same with the cbr and ninja 650 vs their 600 counterparts.
because the SV650 co-existed with the GSXR600. I agree though that the R7 shouldn't be compared to the R6. The R7 didn't really replace the R6, and It's not on the same category as traditional/stereotypical 600 supersports.
tbh, the r7 is not a super sport in anyway except the riding position, just because it has some race track items in the build list and marketed that way it still isn't a SS and people need to realize that, its more a sport bike not a super sport bike, if anything comparing the two literally is comparing apples to a potato, the power it produces compared to any super sport class is not there, all SS are top end rev machines made to produce a lot of power to push it to go balls to the walls fast. the r7 is more like a 650 in terms of how it produces power. I hate that everyone bought into it expecting a supersport 600cc track machine when it was definitely not meant to be. its nothing like its r7 predecessor either. it is as you said early in the video, its a fully faired mt07 not a r6 track monster

You could reduce the stress you're feeling by positioning your arms properly. Also the R6's levers were angled too high. My wrists hurt just by watching
