      /c ~/consider this thread. :)
      Cazic Thule server. Danish guild. Played years ago - still waiting for a MMORPG that can beat EQ1 and EQ2.... right now all MMORPG do not have the same immersive feeling like these games. My hope is something like Chronicles of Elyria can be "the one".....
      Hail all! out there to all you "old players" out there that have EverQuest in their mind with awesome memories!
      Amidable wishes from me to you, hope we see eachother in a game in the future.

    I remember listening to this song in MP3 (pre-TH-cam times) in early 2000s, and it truly picked up the spirit of vanilla EQ in those early days :) A true classic!

      @@GothicElf68 I still remember when my friend got into a loop of dying trying to find his corpse and lost not only a level but a solid 6 hours or so of xp. Fun times.

      @GothicElf68 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mage1439 I lost my corpse once in the Everfrost, when I was a fresh noob. This was back before EQ even had quest armor for new characters. Some guy was making tattered gear to level up his leatherworking skill and I had gotten a set from him. I'd also had gotten very lucky and managed to loot a rusty spear and a shield from some goblin or other. I was doing good for a noob. Then I got lost. While trying to find my way back into somewhat more familiar territory, I found instead a goblin camp that was enough over my level that I did not survive. I never did figure out where it was. Even going back and exploring the Everfrost later when I could easily take anything in the area I could have wandered into as a noob... Needless to say, my corpse, with all my gear and loot on it decayed...

    I started EQ when Gates of Discord was the most recent expansion. Most of the jokes and graphics in this video were a bit dated but I enjoyed it. Now that I'm on Project 1999 this video hits a lot different

    Corpse runs are my favorite memories :-) Kithicor forest, brrrrr. And so much people who are willing to aid and help, things you rarely find nowadays in MMORPGs. I quit playing EQ 10 years ago, but im still in contact with some people i met there.

    • @ryvyr
      @ryvyr 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** SoW for CR please... haha... Some people I met in a guild around launch were married and played in our guild, or met within and married years later, and we mostly still have contact now roughly 16 years later :)

    • @GothicElf68
      @GothicElf68 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of my current best friends are people I met in EQ over 15 years ago. Great times. I bounce MMORPGs now. ESO is fun, but it lacks that group based feel. Conan Exiles has corpse runs; THAT brings back memories. It also has that aspect of being blind at night w/o a torch or other lightsource. But, it is also a survival game, not a quest based game.

    • @SonshineLady7
      @SonshineLady7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Hezibaer - I played for 7 years and quit playing about 10 years ago as well. Depending on where one died, corpse runs could take some planning. I died in the middle of (trying to think) some ice city where everything was my enemy (I lost my way trying to solo). It took my guild hours to retrieve my body because most of the guild were enemies there as well. Good times! At the time I left one could just be rerezzed or something from the "priests" or whoever in...darn..forgot the name again - the main gathering place. That was easier but a lot less fun.

    • @GothicElf68
      @GothicElf68 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forget the name of the ice city also, but I am guessing it was the ice giant place in Vellios? And the place where the Priest could rez you was in the main Plane of Power zone, but like you, I again forget the exact name.

    Be me...
    2001...
    On my first character...
    Rolled wood elf ranger...
    Made it level 12 after 3 weeks(I had a life)
    Ran to unrest...
    A Festering had hit me for 56 points of damage soon as I zoned in...
    A sexy ass warrior with an Exe Axe escorted me back...
    I looted my 2s 51c and tarnished axe...
    Told my girlfriend it was over...
    Learned the magic of astroglide and kleenex...
    Returned to Unrest and dominated the yard, MR, FP, and basement...
    Figured out Ranger suck dick and balls...
    Rerolled necro...
    Never looked back.

    I still remember in the entrance to "Unrest" with like 100 groupless ppl trying to get a lil exp. So much lag. My Graphics card GPU China syndromed. And my computer just shut off in the middle of a fight. I had to trust my RL friend to log my account in so he could loot my corpse. It was a month before I could afford a new/better Gfx card. The typical life of a Paladin of Rodcet Nife.
