- Galactica looks a bit run down at the moment, not very clean, and struggling to fit into Nemesis Reborn's area. So will it ever get RETHEMED?? Galactica is coming to an end.. and Air could return? I discuss the possibility of the retheme in this video and even make my own version of a retheme known as A.I.R Command! Enjoy!

An underrated ride
Personally, I don't really want to see Galactica rethemed into a Phalanx attraction. The entire concept of Air was that it's supposed to be the antithesis to Nemesis, located in a hidden oasis left untouched by the COMPLEX BEAST which has ravaged the rest of Forbidden Valley. Retheming it to be yet another dark and gritty Phalanx attraction would honestly just defeat that purpose.
That said, I think it would be cool if they themed it around the Anti-Phalanx resistance in a way that would allow them to keep the whole oasis conceit while still tying it into the rest of the lore. Alton Towers did briefly paint the Seek The Truth logo on the ride's sign, after all!
EDIT: Just finished the video. I will say that Dan's idea is quite cool and I genuinely admire the effort he's put into it!
EDIT 2: Okay so apparently the STT logo was done by a guest and not by Towers themselves, according to a few comments on Dan's previous video on it. I guess I should disregard that then. Either way, my personal opinion still stands.

I do really enjoy Galactia and agree it could do with a re-theme BUT would also love to see the coaster replaced with the original coaster idea they had when they had plans to replace Nemesis. (So glad they decided to keep Nemesis in the end) 👏🏼
The VR craze that almost every park went through fortunately has died off. Think the whole concept was over sold and parks under estimated just how much of a pain it would be to keep it working. I realllllllly hope that the park bring back the original concept for air and turn it into a tropical oasis at the bottom of the valley. I think the contrast between it and the rest of Forbidden Valley would be awesome and would show what the valley was like pre-Nemesis.

I think Galatica should be rethemed to escaping the nemesis beast. Maybe it could be called pterodactyl.

I've no idea why they haven't connected Air/galactica to Nemisis in some way.
Nemisis is the big evil monster. Have Air be either a method of escape as you said or an attacking force like a fighter jet or something.
Then the surrounding area could be mountain themed and have eggs around and the Rollercoaster Restaurant could be called the Ugulous Restruant

Galactica is really iconic to the park and I think this re-theming is something that is really needed. Personally, I think it’s the better solution for Alton towers
I really enjoyed this. If Alton Towers did decide to make something similar, the rest of the park would be empty, all going on nemesis and Air Command
I think if they re theme Galactica it could be themed to an escape from the Nemesis monster and a mission to the Phalanx space base ❤🔭🚀

A Galactica re-theme would be nice because without the VR the only difference from Air is the portal. The Phalanx really should consider taking over...

With project ocean next door and it could possibly mean this gets themed in and changed at the same time when project ocean opens it would then fully bring forbidden valley to finished in 2025 with a re theme and a new flat ride themed in to finish

That’s some great ideas Dan and the name and theming looks great and I see where you coming from and only juts relized that the consept art has cadburys logo in it 😂
A.I.R. Command is great name. Perhaps with the rebirth of the Nemesis creature, the threat is spreading to other worlds - Phalanx have commandeered the Galactica spaceport and are sending out operatives on Aerial Intergalactic Reconnaisance (A.I.R.) vehicles to scout other garden worlds like Earth that are becoming infested with infant Nemesis creatures. That way the oasis theming of Air can be retained (maybe updated with some alien flora?) but tied into both the Nemesis storyline and Galactica theming. It also really brings the hero/villain idea that Alton has always had for Nemesis and Air to the forefront by having AIR Command literally combatting the alien threat.

You kinda answered your own question when you listed theming examples at the beginning. Because if Wickerman, a ride themed to pagans performing a ritual, and Battle galleons, a ride themed to Caribbean pirates, can technically be in the same land despite being 2 completely different themes: Nemesis and galacticas theming differences look minuscule in comparison… both are in the Sifi genre with connections to space and that’s a considerably stronger connection when compared to Wickerman and mutiny bay.

This might seem a little far fetched, but with the theming Dan did in this video I could see it happening (if Merlin went ahead with this reality). I could see them removing the lift hill from Galactica and replacing it with a launch system underground and joining up with the pre drop after the lift hill. Would make the ride unique and really change the dynamic and flow of the ride. The launch symbolising jets taking off from the air command base and could theme the station to the military base. Could even add a pre show/screens regarding take off safety proceedures etc. The launch tunnel could have red/green LEDs like that on a runaway that turn from red to green at dispatch.
The ride premise would be that you're taking off in a "jet" to help fight against the monsters. Could have theming pieces relating to being in a war conflict (e.g. billboard near miss you made) flying in the jet before coming back into the landing strip (break run). Exit/shop could have videos playing congratulating you on your bravery from being in battle.
I guess it could also work with the lift hill, but I feel a luanch would be much better and in modernising/making Galactica feel more exciting.
Hey Dan, maybe a video on this? Of course I'm kidding, just wanted to share this idea as I think it's rather interesting to see what would happen with this take on the ride.

Aerial Investigation Reconnaissance.
The phalanx have taken over the Galactic tours company and are utilising the fleet to conduct Aerial inspections of the Nemesis site and other potential hazardous zones in the area.
I'd repaint it dark grey track with black supports, trains red and black, add in "barbed wire" fencing, security cameras, Add a new building or 2 to feel like security stations for Phalanx employees checking in. Really embrace the theme of Forbidden Valley being a Phalanx base taken over

I remember when Air was first being built it was originally rumoured to be themed around a military response to Nemesis, though it didn't end up happening at the time. Perhaps they'll resurrect that idea?
I think what would be nice would be like a bit of nemesis kind of track on a bit of galactica, seeming as nemesis is taking over. The rest would be blue but some parts would have the veiny things on a bit of track. I think it would make a good story or smth and make the theming really good. 😊
Something I think would be cool would be to take out the lift hill and replace it with a launch into the hill where you come down into that corner and go into a dive loop or a Immelmann go through the normal galactica lay out and then when you get to the turn near the carparj after that you go into a barrel roll or a corkscrew
Galactica is my fav coaster ever.
There's a container in the Nemesis Reborn queue line and it says A.I.R Command on it so this idea is very likely.
One can hope they’ll give Galactica some updates, but I doubt it’ll happen anytime soon given they’ve scrubbed the track, decals re-applied and the portal fixed this season.
The ride needs more under cover areas and near misses, definitely neon blue lighting (TRON vibe) and hide that awful concrete with black paint and smoke effects. An escape theme from the Nemesis "AIR Command," yes please.
They will retheme all of X sector, Haunted Hallow and Gloomy Wood to a cbeebies theme and replace every coaster with an octonauts clone. Th13teen, Rita, Spinball, Wickerman and Runaway Minetrain arent safe and will be replaced with Wacky Worms. Alton Towers itself would now just be known as 'Cbeebies Land' and the Congo River Rapids will be rethemed to in the Night Garden boat ride part 2.
I will e VERY surprised if they decide to retheme it rather than remove and replace

I think rather than just AIR command I think it eoulf be better as phalanx air command just to link it more with the phalanx theming of forbidden valley and maybe change the train to a fighter jet looking train
i wish Galatica went back to Air. If they want to stick to the Galatica theme, i really think they should repaint the track with a galaxy effect like glitter almost? I don’t know how this works on Coasters though mind you, it’s just a thought and i think it would give the ride a bit of life.

Let AIR be it's own thing as it was intended to be with the planned theming. Not Phalanx or Forbidden Valley related.
The obsession with every ride needing to fit in a themed area for the sake of lore people dont care about is absurd. Sometimes tonal and thematic variety can be a fantastoc thing, even when it doesnt make sense. Thats the fun of it. Like Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris. A haunted house in the middle of a wild west area. Doesnt fit in, but who cares, it's a great fun ride, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
They should have laser guns and targets to shoot at as you go around

The fantasy theme of Galactica didn't really fit as well in the English countryside as Air did giving the feeling of flight. It also seemed a waste to have VR headsets on a ride with a beautiful view.
