Hi all you cool artists! Since you guys liked the previous video from my course on becoming great at sketching, I made this video to show some techniques and mindsets on making your drawings look even more awesome.
Take these 3 tips to heart and I'm positive your drawings will look better and better each time you practice.

I love the videos being around 20-30 mins. Its like a real lecture. You rarely cut the video, everything flows and it feels as if im sittin down watching a tutor IRL. Love it. Can i have like few thousands more of these? XD

Because of all the studying I have to do I almost don't draw anymore, but these are keeping up my spirit! It gives me motivation to continue to try and get better even though I am already too old to start from scratch.
You are never too old, or too "late". You can start when you're 5 years old, or when you're 65. Drawing is a skill you can learn at any stage in your life, and it's very rewarding. :) Best, W.

I found your channel because that previous sketching video, and I really like the way you present things, not a lot of people talk about "being loose" when teaching drawing, as result of this I use to *really* tense up when drawing because "it wasn't perfect". But with your video I don't do that anymore and I feel so good when I draw, and I do it daily now.
Also your enthusiasm about what you do is very inspiring :) so thank you so much for doing this videos.

I often struggle with getting the picture in my head onto the paper. Does anyone have advice for this or can you maybe make a video on it?
This is where mind to hand coordination comes into play. The more you actually practice taking something in your head and turning it into a drawing/painting, the better your mind-hand coordination gets. Also a solid visual library helps as you'll have stronger visions of what it is you want to draw.
A great way to practice this, and to overcome that anxiety that your physical drawing might not look as the image you have in your head, is to take some great artwork you love and draw it from reference. Or simply use the reference as a base! If it's a creature you're trying to draw, then find a good reference drawing/artwork on that and mimic it. This will strengthen your skills as an artist. I will make a video on this very important subject. Hope that helps! :) Best, W.

Could agree more pressure on the pencil is a great way to get differentiation in lineart and shading. *Has great moments and then all poop moments erases everything and cries* most me when I sketch. Great tutorial.

Thanks for your tutorials, I like how a lot of them focus on the different textures in an environment and that's my biggest weakness. To me when I paint, the lighting and composition looks good but it all looks like it's made out of plastic. I don't know how many other people have this problem but I'd find it really useful if you did one on buildings and creating the texture of brick/stone walls like in castles.
Texture is an entire subject in and of itself. I have a plan to create a TH-cam video on that. Meanwhile, I am working on my online course that will go in-depth into this as well, and finding ways to express your art using proper textures. Thanks for your comment! Best, W.

I can't draw at all but playing around in apophysis I broke a script down to just drawing line"s .. I come up with some crazy creatures but now I want to learn how to draw .. can't find every thing in apophysis like hand's feet and so on even though it's fun and all... drawing is the way to go and I love pencil drawings and seems the best way to start.
Learning how to sketch and draw will be the foundation of all your creative concepting on paper and on the computer later. I highly recommend you to start doing some. :) Best, W.

A tool to be weary of is liquid pencils in a pen. The media that holds the graphite in the pen tends to harden like a thin bead of glue. Makes filling and cross hatching shapes difficult.
