    Thank you David, this is an enormous help. I have a new Suzuki motorcycle (GSXS1000 GT) and the fairing uses the first type of clip and it had me beat. Several videos show the clips being butchered, without the pin being pushed in, but you Sir have cracked the code, well done!

      Wow, thanks Chris. I'm very pleased it helped you out. I've seen many of these being butchered too. Really appreciate your kind comment. Thank you again. David. 👍😊

    What's the size of the push type retainer? The one inside the car door panel? I'm planning to buy a replacement but i don't know the size. Btw, I also have a Suzuki Alto.

    • @DavidGarside
      @DavidGarside  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Joseph. Thank you for your message. To be on the safe side, I would take the old one with you when you go to buy it, or buy a pack of various sizes. That would give you others just in case you should need them in the future. Mine is a 2013 model, and yours may be different.

    Mine has a philips head on the pin except the head on every single one are stripped and the pins can't be pushed. I have to use a philips head screwdriver to unscrew the pin. How do I remove them without damaging anything?

    • @DavidGarside
      @DavidGarside  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm. I've not seen any like that ! If they are definitely screwed in then the only way I can see of unscrewing them is to use a centre punch or similar to knock the screw round, or to drill it out. This will definitely damage the rivet so I'd get some replacements first. You could ask the question on the Suzuki Alto group page on Facebook as it's possible someone has had to do this before. Sorry I can't be more helpful. The very best of luck. 🤞🤞

    Love your videos on this Suzuki alto I’m need to replace the window switch but I’m finding it hard to find spares for this model can you tell me a good place online to buy spares as I live in a Remote part of England and there’s no dealership for miles 🙏

    • @DavidGarside
      @DavidGarside  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Andrew. I bought 99% of my spares through my local Suzuki dealer. A few other bits came from eBay but they were never as good as genuine parts of found. I would contact your nearest dealer and ask they'll post or try my local dealer as they may do it for you. I've been dealing with them for over 20 years and they're brilliant. E W Pinchbeck & Sons Ltd. Middle Wallop. Google them and send them a message. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Thanks again. David.

    Hi David, thank you for this latest video, I was wondering how I might fit front mudflaps to my 2013 Alto, do you think the original trim rivets on the front wheel arch liner would be long enough with the mudflaps in place ?

    • @DavidGarside
      @DavidGarside  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Morning Ken.
      Thank you for your kind comment. If you buy genuine Suzuki mudflaps I'm sure they would come with the correct fittings for them, but I've only ever fitted non standard ones (years ago) and they came with metal screw type clamps. I'm sure the existing trim rivets are too short for this, but there may be longer ones available from the supplier for their fitting. It would be worth checking first. Sorry I can't be more specific.

    Mine in my Nissan Altima are like your second type and are easy to take out, but no matter how much I push with my thumb, they don't 'pop' back in.

    • @DavidGarside
      @DavidGarside  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm, it's possible they may be a different type. I would go to my local motor factor or Halfords and see if they're different to what's available. It would be interesting to find out if they are. Sorry I can't help further. Thank you for watching and your comment.
