Excellent video. Very informative. I love the camera angles. You really thought out where to place the camera so that the viewer could see exactly what you were doing. Thank you for posting this. I learned a lot.
Wish I came across your video sooner. I destroyed all my clips before figuring it out.. Thx for going over all the current clips. The pry tool is a must.
Thank you very much for your superb, succinct, and yet detailed instructions on how to remove a variety of plastic rivets from the body of a motor vehicle. Your video contributed immensely to my understanding of the subject. Two👍👍thumbs up for an excellent job.
thank you. I had to watch about 5 videos before I could find an actual demonstration (not just an unboxing...lol) of the fancy 4 arm spring plier vs the C shaped plier.
Thanks! At 3:48 there was a clip with a pin inside. Yours in the video had a bit different design but on my car, the pin sits kind of lower and I can't pry it easily without damaging it.
It has no notches to fit anything on the side of it? Is the clip like completely flat but with the round portion in middle cut out? If so those are the type u push down in middle part and the clip can be removed.
@@backyardchevy328 The clip is completely round and has a round middle portion as you mentioned. I tried pushing it in but maybe I had to apply a bit more force. Just didn't want to break the clip. Will try your suggestion! Thanks
Thank you for your video, I like how you don't rush through, very clear and make it look soooo easy! Any suggestions for a clip with the Phillips screw that seems to endlessly turn and turn and turn without coming out? Mine just spin and spin with no success ):
My car has the first type. When I reassemble I'm probably gonna see if I can install the other kind which are much easier to remove. I keep damaging the holes, but I'm probably gonna remove the rest of them with pliers and be more careful.
@@backyardchevy328 Just a little update, I used a combination of a hooked pick like you use for hoses to bend the sides in and then Vise-Grips to grip and lock onto the bent up edges and those worked great. I didn't see that in the videos I watched but I think that's a good way to get those types of rivets off if someone doesn't want to buy the tool or is in a rush. Someone working fast paced can probably get one out in 20 seconds to a minute using the Vise-Grips. I was damaging the holes before because I was pulling them straight instead of bending. I also used to have a problem with the hose clamps, but you can either buy a tool for around $15 or use pliers and then replace them with the screw type for easier access in the future.
@@backyardchevy328 Thanks man I ordered them and still cant get the smaller circle screw that attaches the upper and lower bumper loose. Im just going to take it by a shop and see if they know.
@@backyardchevy328 No, its smaller then the clips and looks like its made of metal or something like that. I cant even get under it to move it or loosen it. I'll get it figured out soon enough.

These clips are a nuisance especially when old and brittle.
