@@W.2026Yeah a boss that recognises his team by always saying words like “we” for example small things like that just goes to show that Sam lake truly cares about his team or the people that he is working around with.
Sam Lake and Remedy are great things in the gaming industry, these elements have worked together to create exceptional game projects, whether it's Max Payne 1 or 2 or Alan Wake, everything fits perfectly into this world
Sam Lake makes for a great storyteller, he's got that nice kind of a crispy charismatic accent. And it's always better seeing it once, than being told for a 100 times. I felt myself in a game by Remedy just watching this presentation, as if Sam would just "You know what, why don't we ask the guy himself" flips his fingers and in a flash of lightning comes Thor, the old fart gives the audience a short, but intense hard-rock like solo and gets dissolved in the darkness of the backstage, while sam fluently picks up the speach. That's what's so good about Remedy - they know how to produce the right atmosphere.
I've played so many games, AAA games even, that treat music like filler, just noise to replace silence. It creates a much more memorable experience when music helps direct the flow of gameplay, and engages with the audience. I'm so glad that Remedy gets this.
This is one of the greatest videos I've ever seen. Sam just seems like such a cool and fun guy to be around, he really looks like he is having a blast up on that stage, I think it's impossible to not like him honestly, like how could you not like a guy who just has such a genuine enthusiasm and passion for everything he does?
You Sir(Sam Lake) are the Tim Burton of video games. Every game mad by you has a specific feel to it that always puts me in that special mood. I love it Thank you!
Sam Lake and Remedy as a whole are treasures hah hah Love the compassion and enthusiasm every time, with every presentation and game. Always so unique and unapologetically different. I hope they continue to make games far into the future.
Sound has been a huge part of the atmosphere a game creates especially before graphics improved to the extent we see today. Remedy always exhibited a level of finesse rare to find in this area within games industry... Still remember playing Max Payne on pc with headphones feeling immersed in a dark hole of depraved human behaviors... I have played every game they made since and loved it! Keep up the good work guys!
Too bad there's no mention of "Haunted" by Poe. I discovered Poe thanks to Alan Wake, and now she's my favorite musician, no contest. Those songs need more publicity. Anyway, great show from Remedy!
Consider making remastering versions of both Max Payne games with the help of Rockstar since they own the IP ;) the first installment is about to celebrate its 20th birthday in just two years :)
I love you Remedy! ^_^
Could we get Alan Wake remaster for PS4 or PS5?! Please? P.S. - Such a damn great music... proud about my country neighbours - almost neighbours...about theyre success in gaming industry.
this is perfect and all, bowie's song ground control is nice as well but they did a mistake choosing that song for alan wake - it doesnt have any connections at all... the song had different vibe than the game anyways, i loved this show, i like the strange but nice vibes Sam Lake gave me and this whole authentic never seen before experience. Not many game creators would do such a show in front of big audience in the first place. oh and one more thing - author with grown beard looks like Robin Thicke :P
Major Tom is obviously Tom Zane. They were all ready building a Remedy verse, and in Alan Wake 2 you really see the connection. Song makes total sence.
Hearing how making a game-musical was a dream of his after playing Alan Wake 2 now made my heart full~
There is no studio like Remedy. Minds blew after playing Control. Fuck, that’s an amazing game that kept me awake during nights thinking deeply
I CAN'T BELIEVE HE CALLED OUT HIS DREAM OF CREATING A MUSICAL IN A GAME 6 YEARS BEFORE ALAN WAKE 2 WHAT A LEGEND SAM LAKE IS
Show me the champion of light!
Sam Lake is such a badass storyteller. Petri Alanko is a badass composer. I want to marry Remedy, they're just too awesome!
"But instead of talking, we'll sing it!"
These guys always look like they are having way much fun on their job.
Its a fun job
I wish he was my boss
@@jbeachboy100It may be fun but it is really hard and difficult also quite stressful I would imagine.

Agreed I want the ending I swear I will learn to code to give myself a ending even if its short its something
This is the best way to do a presentation, ever!

Slush Music: Hey Sam, we'd like you to talk about music in your games.
Sam Lake: Sluuooow Jäämm
XD
Glad to see he at least got to write one musical theater piece for Alan Wake II and also that it is THE moment in gaming in 2023
Death From Above 1979 appearing as the credits roll in Quantum Break was an awesome surprise. Such a great band.

TAKE CONTROL!!!! The Ash Tray Maze is THEE most bad ass moment in gaming ever.
sam lake is an absolute living legend
Wish I could have been there to see this in person, amazing work! I hope one day the Old Gods of Asgard will return in an Alan Wake sequel :')
you wouldn't believe this

I never realised Remedy came from the demo scene but of course they did. It's so obvious now that I see it
I really love the way that Max Payne speaks in public :3
Can you imagine a Sam Lake penned musical game? Now that's something I'd love to play.
yeah that'd be crazy
I don't think it would be a good idea. Imagine Alan dancing and singing in a musical, nobody would love that
@@yusufcanislam7500it in Alan wake 2, and the best bit that many people loved
Amazing as always!
i remember seeing the Max payne 1 Trailer way before the game was released on a magazines CD-ROM. It was the first time i entered a hypetrain.

God I love this man
Now that is unconventional! :D Great jam, fellows!!! Petry, Sam, you rock! Great mix!
After Alan Wake 2 is released, we need an updated version of this! More slow jam Lake!
Too bad there's no mention of "Haunted" by Poe. I discovered Poe thanks to Alan Wake, and now she's my favorite musician, no contest. Those songs need more publicity. Anyway, great show from Remedy!
She released her first song in two decades specifically for Alan Wake 2! As someone who also discovered Poe thanks to AW I was delighted!
@@yuria_nihilisten Yup! FINALLY! Was great hearing new stuff from her
Okay, that was beautiful!
Oh 5:30 was just beautiful memories I wish I could learn to play that on piano he's great
Learn it man what's stopping you
Very cool presentation guys. I can't wait to see what you're working on
This is astounding
Started with Death Rally when in "yläaste". ☺️ Cant wait for Alan Wake 2. Thank you Remedy!
Sam looks like now like Max with his suit in the first MP level :)
yeah yeah i know but in the video Sam wears a grey suit like he did in the first level of the first Payne :)
Remedy is one of my favourite developers, this is amazing. :D
i've never seen this before, this is so cool!! such a good presentation
One of the best game developers, Im proud of Finns ;) Hyvä Sami, olet upea mies

Damn sam lake pretty cool dude
Sam Lake: *Grooves and dances*
Me: You're killing me. Did you make that one up yourself or did you get the winos down stairs to come up with it?
Don't answer that, a rhetorical question.
these two and the rest of the team ❤️❤️🥹
Amazing music all the way. Part of why I love Remedy. The Death Rally soundtrack started it. Please re-release it!
That's the way.
I love Remady
I love this so so damn much

Sam Lake is perfect for PR Manager position in Remedy :))

i play max payne regularly every weekend, love it, still great. you should definitely buy this IP back (rockstar is not working on it anyway)
I cannot believe Sami used to be affraid to give speeches etc. Now… he just jams to huge crowds. 😮
it’s lovely to see❤️

He should’ve started singing ”Papa was a rolling stone” at the first groove 😄
