Decluttering is not just a moment in time; it is an ongoing process. In this video I declutter and organize my entire minimalist wardrobe including my closet and dresser. I loosely follow the Marie Kondo method; namely the approach of pulling everything out of my closet and dresser in order to declutter, and practicing the KonMarie folding method. Minimalism means something different to everyone; you may not think my wardrobe is minimalist, but to me every piece serves a purpose and adds value to my life...and to me that is minimalism.

At the end of 2018, my husband and I quit our jobs, sold our yoga studio and 90% of our possessions and moved into our 1969 VW bus. We spent 18 months traveling the globe exploring, rock climbing, adventuring and eating delicious vegan food along the way. We recently settled in Joshua Tree, CA with our pup Gypsy, and have been adjusting to a minimalist life in a house.

Keep the skirt, keep the skirt, keep the skirt!! That's my favourite pieces and you could probably even wear one of your little tops underneath and wear it as a dress too. You could make a bag out the jeans. It's funny. I'm short and large and wear two size too big you are a gorgeous wear whatever you like and look fantastic size and you wear my size clothes! I love the things that you bought recently, and I love that white huggy snuggly long neck scarf thing too.

Rebecca ~ thank you for sharing your clothing declutter with your ‘close assistant’ Gypsy. The finding replacements before letting go of an item I surely identify with! Really low on tops at present. As a semi successful minimalist (in my world) I don’t always look forward to shopping for clothing 🙃. It was fun to watch. 🌠💐✅💕

Great video! Not sure if its available in your area...but consider textile recycling for damaged clothing. We have that option here in WA state. :) My children trash so many of their clothes...I'm so glad its an option! I discovered this option after reading Elizabeth Cline's amazing book, The Conscious Closet. :)
I haven't read that yet! Definitely will give it a read. There isn't any textile recycling in my area, but I think I should start stock piling and do a big drop off when I find myself in a nearby city that does. Thank you!
Love the video! Jeans make a great doggie toy, cut off one leg, sew the end you cut, (optional) so it doesn't fray, tie the leg in a knot! Instant tug toy!

I think you made all good choices. Wearing clothes out is kind of a romantic thing. Buy what you love and live in it for a long time.
Yes! Get rid of everything faded, stretched out, threadbare (or w/ holes), stained, doesn’t fit, isn’t flattering (in color/design)...And say “goodbye” to frumpy/sad clothes. It will feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. 😄
P.S. Love the beautiful yellow halter dress and flowy blue pants. Think your first instinct to discard the orange wrap skirt and Mom’s jeans was correct. 😆

I hail from the land of the sultry sweaty swampy South and I have learnt no matter how beautiful or flowy or flattering a skirt or dress is, if it is made of ANY synthetic fabric you will be living in swampass land the whole time you wear it. You even said it, it makes you hot. I say sell that orange skirt and buy something similar in organic cotton or linen.. there are soooo many clothing makers on Etsy. Cotton Flowers and AYA sacred wear and Primitive something have beautiful skirts and dresses.

The "blanket" wrap you discarded but love & the large cowl neck the shade of color is off.... could you dye them? A mottled look & different color (grays, denim blue??) could bring new life to them for you?!🤷♀️

You're right, I don't! I have always gravitated towards neutrals, and I've found that in having a more minimal wardrobe it helps to have everything match for maximum outfit possibilities.
@@RebeccaSisson I always wore black loved it but as i got older i started to like colour and find it really brightens my face up love bright blue and green. But each to your own.

Unfortunately my donation center does not accept torn or thread bare clothing. I'm looking into textile recycling instead.
Why is this being posted on black out Tuesday??
I apologize if this came across as insensitive. Not that this is an excuse, but these videos are typically shot up to a week in advance and scheduled at least a few days out. I went to work (where I'm not able to access my phone) at 6:30am this morning not having checked social media yet, and not knowing about black out Tuesday. By the time I got off work and got on Instagram and saw black out Tuesday was a thing the video had already auto-posted as scheduled.

Barely anyone has scheduled this week because of that, so you should've known because it was everywhere for the past week. I don't understand how you missed the MEMO. I accept your apology, but this is exactly what white privilege is - it's being ignorant to what is going on around us and the world. I hope you can learn from the hard times we are facing ahead. Please take the time to educate yourself and donate this week.
