Hey Greg, thanks for this info. Just picked up a Scalextric Arc Pro set and was wondering if I could upgrade controller in the future, and what that entails. Super of you to do a video on this. Zippideedooda
Hi Greg I don’t know if you remember that you helped me to make my scp 3 working whit y The ARCPRO and it didn’t work. I broke a sensor on my ARC and send it to Scalextric for repair, then I brought a new one do to the long waiting time, but Scalextric send me a New one after 3 weeks so free of charge very good service mine has rand out of guaranty. And with the new one I have bought I run my handle as usual all knobs to 0 but the I try. to use them and every thing worked out fine, so nothing wrong with you told me to do but my ARC was the problem, so ones again thank you for your help, And all the best from Danish Arne living in UK
If I want to use this controller with the high current handle cartridge to use as an analog controller, do I have to download firmware for it to work? I plan on using this controller for digital wireless and analog as well. Thanks.
Thanks so much for the video. Could you tell me the process if I want to use the SCP3 with my ARC PRO base while in analog mode with analog cars? Thank you.
Ask your closest slot-selling hobby store if they can order some in for you. Otherwise, there are several stores around the world that will sell and ship worldwide. For the battery, I went to my nearest RC store to find the right type that would fit in the handle. It happens to be this mode, but others work as well. www.amazon.com/dp/B009PBZ8BG Check this thread on SlotForum for discussion of battery types: www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=200979
@@clausbjerga2745 It's possible that the handle has pretty old firmware, and you'll need to use the Nordic app to install more current firmware. See my Slot.it Type C chip demonstration video for some video of that process. The SCP3 manual tells you how to put it into DFU mode manually for use with that app.
Thanks for your reply. Yes I did suspect that to be honest but wanted to check. So I want to keep the arc air system and be fully digital for lap counting and changing lanes but want variable braking, what controller and digital car chip would I need?:)
Unfortunately, at this time, I don't know of a way to get variable braking when the ARC Pro is involved. For that, we need a PC and a C7042 (APB) power base, OR switch over to oXigen racing. The track would remain the same, other than putting a few magnets under it for lap counting and pit sensing, but you'd need an oXigen USB stick and a PC race manager such as RCSO2
@@ggaub oh claro! en Arc pro si, pero si puedo llevarme ese control al club con el catridge análogo y correr allá, y luego llegar a mi casa y seguir usando Arc pro con el mismo firmware ¿será posible?
It's a slot.it product, and is exactly what it sounds like. It doesn't add any functionality, it just extends range. It's really not needed for most users, but I'm crazy. ;-)
@@ggaub -we both love slot cars, so we are both a little crazy! My table is 7' x 15' and I swear the Arc Pro wireless controllers are less accurate when we are on the ends of my table. @@chrish8645 Yeah, wireless interference can come from all angles. Even with my PAM I can create problems if I put much between the controller and receiver. Even one of the other wireless digital slot car systems recommends hanging the receiver above the track for optimum reliability. If you have a tendency to hold the controller low such that the table itself can be in the way, you might need the PAM, or even a rostrum for drivers to stand on. ;-)
Hi Greg, great to find some info on the SCP-3 with Arc Pro, I have 2 of them and have set up and work great, two things though and I wonder if you could help? the lane change buttons only the top one works to change lanes, I thought that both should work to change lanes according to the instructions and also have not been able to get ghost mode to work, both controllers are working the same. thanks
I tested and confirmed your findings. I'll see if I can get an answer from slot.it. I think the LC thing is a bug. Ghost mode might be a future feature unlocked by the App.
Probably not any time soon, as I don't have an ARC Pro track put together right now. It should work, though I'd probably just go with oXigen control at that point.
Ok but must be that you pare the scp 3 controller with arc pro with the slot it app then when you put the car with the oxygen chip on the track you reprogram it wit the other program you use what is it called in App Store
@@christianaabavn7949 You would use the slot.it app to: 1- register the SCP3 and the Type C chip 2- install the ARC firmware into the SCP3 3- install the SSD firmware into the Type C chip. Then you pair the SCP3 to the ARC Pro as shown in this video. And program the car to the same color just as you would any other SSD car. The only reason to use the Nordic Semiconductor DFU app, which is what I assume you're asking about, is if the SCP3 or Type C chip don't connect to the app because the firmware that's on them when you get them is too old.

that is not a 6, that is a "b" and it's the low battery indicator. You need to charge the battery. Plug a standard phone charter into the micro-USB on the back of the handle. When the green light turns off, it is fully charged.

Yes. As I mention in the video, I went to my local RC hobby store to get one. It needs to be 3.7v LiPo, have the right connector, and fit in the handle. That's why I went to a store rather than order online. You can power it other ways, but anything other than a battery in the handle is silly, IMHO. Of course, it can be used with their analog cartridges, for which no battery would be needed.

Fantastic how to Greg. So do you now have adjustable brakes as well or does the scalextrics digital chip just not have that capability?
Hi. Not working on mine. Dfu is not highlighted, only “change “ is.

Scalextric Digital standard chips don't support variable braking. There are other ways to get that, but with what is shown here, no.
