    FINALLY! A video that shows how to set the electrode gap.
    NOW...How about a video that shows how to test the electric functions of the burner without removing the unit from the vehicle. BTW...Great video.

      Thank you for your comments and thank you for watching. I hope if was helpful. They can be intimidating but just remember they are merely several components working together. They are not too awfully difficult to work on, the difficulty comes when troubleshooting and determining which of the components is failing or not contributing.

    This has to be hands down the best instructional video for these systems that exists out there. I looked on his web site to get a pump for my Hydro-Hot and it doesn’t list one…so sad. But at least I now know what is wrong with it. It’s a love hate relationship I have with my Hydro-Hot. Nothing but trouble with it since buying our Country Coach. When it works…it’s great. The other 6 days a week I hate it. Thanks for the awesome video.

    Hello Mike, This will be the first time that I have service my Hydro-Hot myself. Your video really taught me a lot. I bought an instruction book on how to do this, but would not have been able to do it solely from the service manual had it not been for you. Question: Do you know what mixture - water to antifreeze that you are suppose to add to the antifreeze reservoir?

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words Randy and thank you for watching. I’m glad the video was helpful.
      As for the glycol mixture it is 50/50 with distilled water. Be certain to use the correct glycol and distilled water to eliminate deposit buildup in your system. I’ve been using boiler glycol marketed by Camco which is readily available.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to the coil on the fuel solenoid or the igniter coil? I have replaced both on various coaches.

      zmotorsports the coil which the water passes through to return hot water into the coach...

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The domestic coil is not a serviceable component. Depending on the model year of your actual Aqua-Hot unit will determine the style of the domestic loop. Approx 2002 model year units and older have the domestic hot water coil wrapped around the outside of the boiler tank and held on or secured to the boiler tank by means of a conductive paste that when dry not only holds the loop in place but also aids in conducting heat from the boiler tank to the copper domestic line.
      On approx 2003/2004 model year Aqua-Hot unit’s and newer, the domestic loop is actually located inside of the boiler tank which has the heated glycol surrounding it which transfers the heat from the glycol through the tubing which heats the water.
      Either way if your unit has a failed domestic line or coil it will require replacement with a new or remanufactured unit.
      I hope that is what you were asking.

    Mike, do you know the difference between Hydro nd Aqua Hot - did two companies merge? There are many different models and only one annual service kit... safe to assume same nozzle and fuel filter? My model is not listed HHU-500-09M has a man date of Jan 2013. All your knowledge and ability is amazing!

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the kind words.
      As far as the differences, they both are diesel fired units which provide interior heating as well as domestic hot water. The Hydro-Hot is referred to as the little brother to the Aqua-Hot due to physical size for one as the Hydro-Jot was designed to fit similar to a 10-gallon water heater whereas the Aqua-Hot is large enough to take up most of a half bay.
      The Aqua-Hot will provide interior heating and domestic water on demand at full volume whereas the Hydro-Hot will drop out heating function when the heating of the domestic water is too demanding.
      I hope all that makes sense but they are very similar yet different.
      Thanks again for watching and I hope you find the content helpful.

    Thanks for the video…. Just a quick question…… to replace my fuel solenoid, I must pull the whole housing out, right?!? Or is it possible to replace the whole fuel solenoid by swinging the head open and do it from the side?!? I’d appreciate any advice. Thx.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be done by swinging the whole burner assembly away from the combustion chamber, but it is so much easier with it completely removed. Plus less chance of damaging wiring or a connection.

      Viliam Palček I installed new bearings. My fear was from the fuel pump leaking it had washed the lubricant out of the bearings and even though they felt fine, I didn't want to risk it for the price of a couple bearings.

      Congrats on the new coach. Tiffin makes a fine coach. Even with the few issues I’ve had with my Aqua-Hot, I would never have another coach without it. Personally I’m not as impressed with the newer AH units the more I’m around them which is why I’ll keep my old coach with the older model AH.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try using one of the other bosses but I haven’t had to do that so I can’t tell you for certain if it will work or not.
      As for the electrodes, they remove as the pair and connect to the coil on the outside of the unit. Then use the gauge secured to the outside of the case as the means of setting the correct gap.

    Thanks for the info, can you tell us how and when to change the fluids in the Aqua Hot? I don't think it's suppose to be a whiskey colored fluid! So I am wondering if the fluid needs replaced in the system.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only fluid to speak of is the glycol which flows from the boiler tank to each of the heat registers. It is a closed system so unless someone has introduced a fluid other than the approved fluid it should last quite a few years. Ours continues to be a nice pink color and I changed it once after purchasing the coach because the unit had a leak. I did not know what the previous owner had put in it so I flushed it out and added the correct fluid. If yours appears to be contaminated I would drain and refill with fresh glycol.
      Mike.

    • @mtinaustin
      @mtinaustin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GREAT video Mike. I took my 08 Tiffin to Red Bay. The service center drained my glycol, flushed the system using water, a couple 5 gallon buckets and circulation pump then refilled with nice pink glycol. A few days later (staying in the coach at night) I reported that the AH didn't seem to be working correctly. In a regular service bay they found a circulation pump not working. While replacing it, you could see that the pretty pink glycol had already turned brown. Must be a secret to getting all the registers flushed or the "quick bay" guys hadn't learned the flush procedure yet.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mtinaustin thanks for the comments. Sorry you have issues getting all of the glycol removed. That was a lot of wasted time for them going completely through that process and then having to go back and do it again.
      When I did mine I pulled a vacuum then opened drain multiple times before the full and drain cycles. I think it helped to get the glycol away from the registers and into the main tank so it could be expelled from the system.
      Thanks again for watching and commenting.

    well, its not yellow or pink and the overflow tank seems to have some sort of algi or mold in bottom...maybe we should just drain it and put fresh in.

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That doesn't sound good. I would recommend a drain and refill and get all of that nasty stuff out of there. Not only could it contaminate the system, but it will also adversely effect the fluids ability to transfer heat which could have a negative effect on how well the system works in general.
      Mike.

    • @zachamazz
      @zachamazz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again Mike. One more question how much fluid does the system take? I have gone to Roger Berkes forum as well and he did mention that the camcoa fluid is known to turn brownish but as far as changing the fluid no concise information. One good thing, my 08 Camelot has much easier access than your!

    • @zmotorsports62
      @zmotorsports62  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Karen Studer There really is no "set" amount. They vary from coach to coach because of the length of PEX, amount of heat registers and such. I can't remember off the top of my head how much my system holds.
