after having this burger twice now, i have to say in my opinion the smashed jack is the best burger available when it comes to the major fast food chains.

The patties don't look pre-smashed, but it's okay because a double at Shake Shack equals one regular patty. I'd rather have the larger non-smashed patties.

I thought it was a solid burger. Definitely not a smash but the double Definitely meaty enough and juicy. One of the better burgers they have.. also 15 for a small combo at Jack is steep. A local burger truck sells a double smash, fries and a coke on Wednesdays in my city in California for 10$
That's a solid point, maybe they should've rethought the name....

I would never pay $10.79 for a Jack In The Box Burger or pretty much any fast food Burger. I would rather go to Five Guys or the actual Smashburger if I'm going to pay that much for a burger
Totally hear you there. Prices at the major fast food chains are getting out of control! I haven't been to five guys in a bit. They're pretty good.
I rate the Smash Burger I had an 8.0. It gives me more reason to go to Jack in the Box, but the biggest reason I go is the Jack Taco. Now it's good to have a very good hamburger to go along with the taco, though I do like the Buttery Jack and my favorite, the Bonus Jack.

@@Zach.Attack The Bonus Jack was one of Jack's early hamburgers, it was like a Big Mac, but with Jack's very tasty, "Secret Sauce." Jack in the Box carried the Bonus Jack for a limited time several weeks ago and it was great. The latest Bonus Jack had two pieces of bread instead of three like the original had.

@@Zach.Attack Not yourself...no. The "Gimmick-Copycat-Clone" is referring to the burger; and their poor attempt at copying though. And the "aren't there are enough credulous people out there" refers to the proof of the company's belief and in their thinking; "there are plenty of people out there who will believe us when we say smash burger...and they will come." You I appreciate, for revealing the truth. Others, too, have shown the "Smash" to be false.

Exactly my experience. Thanks for asking if pre-smashed. I responded to the survey on the receipt expressing my disappointment, and I asked the District Manager the texted me if they are cooked fresh and smashed there and she failed to answer that question. How the heck do they call those smashed patties? They are thick. Very disappointed with the quality.
My thoughts as well! Truly wouldn't have known the difference! Jack is out of touch for sure.
Jack in the Box is late to the game. I know of several restaurant chains that have smash burgers....Steak & Shake, Culvers, Freddy's, Smash Burger, and there are probably some others.
That's for sure! Steak and Shake is amazing, wish I had one nearby.

You, by your actions, impact peoples livelihoods and their lives. Just because I want to critique cancer surgeons doesn't mean I'm qualified to do that. Yeah, freedom of speech blah blah.
