You forgot the importance of the key listed under the QR code, that thing is the same as the qr code and can be used to add the same set of codes to other devices. Write it down and keep it safe and then there is no need to backup to google.
I am lost after 4 minutes on this video, too much information. I being trying to use 2AF but I get stuck when typing the number because is only 30 seconds and always get "invalid number". I installed the 2AF on my android and my laptop. But wasn't able to find the extension on my browser to start the authenticator. Maybe the question is, where do I find my authenticator tab in my laptop. The easiest way I found was have my android open and my laptop open.
Google Authenticator does not have a website or Chrome extension. You could use the Google Authenticator app on your phone and enter the code on your laptop. If you want to access your 2FA codes via your laptop, you could consider a password manager like Keeper which will also auto fill it for you upon login.
You have a QR code on the iPhone screen. How do you “point your camera at it”? You can’t aim an iPhone camera at the screen of the same device. Or is that possible?
You can’t use the QR code directly if it’s on the same device as where you are setting up Google Authenticator. Most, if not all sites also display a code under the QR code (you can see it in the example of this video). You can copy that code and use the “enter a setup key” option in Google Authenticator to do it all on the same device.
Your vid is well done, but as with all of the others by other people, you don't provide a solution for scanning the QR code when you have no other device!

The opening windows has a prompt to scan a QR code or Enter set up code. Question where does the QR code magically appear. There are no clues. My screen is nothing like your screen.
Don't listen to this. Too much info. Very confusing Just go to your google settings > Go phone settings > Find Google > "Manage your google accounts" > Security > Scroll down to "2-step verification" > Then scroll down again to Authenticator Then click set up. It will give you then a QR code. You can convert it to set up key just click "Cant scan" My Goodness That's it
I use Microsoft Authenticator because it has app lock feature. That way, 2FA codes will not be easily accessed, at least for a while since you lock the app by PIN or biometrics.
mine doesnt work google asks questions like scan qr code ahhhh an er occured cant interpret code then it wants a set up key Really? where the hell do you get that. Tring to make a simple withdrawl and my Google authenticator doesnt work
I mistakenly deleted an app under my 2FA Authenticator. What are the steps to get it back? As the app is asking for a password before i can access it and the password is on the app thats in the 2FA authenticator which i have no access to anymore.

What if you don't have another device, can you have 2FA key

My third-party accounts verified by google authenticator are always automatically signed out unintentionally. How I could fix this problem?
Why would anyone want this headache. Now make a video on how to get rid of google authenticator.
