Josephine from the Pointe Shop is going to see this eventually and I'm sure she's going to be shook lmao.
Omg I love her! We should recommend it to her!
yess lmao
Ikr
if she sees this, she's going to say: "pretty feet"
I agree! I wondered as soon as she got en pointe if Josephine could take a look and tell us WHY they work so well on her. Don't know if that's entirely possible, but I would think if anyone could figure it out, it would be an expert fitter.
I did NOT expect these shoes to be anything other than a disaster. What a fascinating video...and so enjoyable to watch your face as they *were* supportive shoes instead of disasters!
Well, when you think about it pointe shoes are 100+ year old technology so if the Chinese factories got the right kind of lasts it's not hard to duplicate the techniques and the materials and labor would be cheaper.
Pointe shoes are expensive because they are made primarily in Western countries where the cost of labor/materials is very high.
I wonder if they are supposed to be more so you can take pictures and why they where so supportive when you stand in them.
@@NatashaEstradaand probably the sizing+lifespan
@@NatashaEstradayeah my friend gave me pointe shoes from China and they weren’t allowed. My parents forced me to bring them bc they didn’t wanna buy them but we had to
I think those pointe shoes come from the same manufacturer that does Sansha's Recital shoes. The bottom stitching and embossing look exactly the same, the long vamp and very square box are almost identical, and Sansha's shoes are made in China. I've seen these shoes all over Amazon and Wish and have heard they're not the worst depending on your foot shape.
This was great! I understand why Josephine loves you so much! I’m even older (Much older ) than Josephine and watching both of you inspires me to continue dancing for myself. Old dancers never truly retire. They just find other avenues to dance on!
Yah. They break kinda low but I've seen worse fitting shoes on people who've had professional fittings. I'd be curious to know how long they last, though.
Some beginner pointe students in the Philippines (where I am from) buy these to save money. If they're not actually dancing on the shoes but only use them at the barre, then I guess it's fine. Of course, it depends on the teacher, but we're a 3rd world country and not everyone can afford $100 shoes.
Actually, I'm also a dancer from the Philippines, and pointe shoes are EXPENSIVE!!! They're around 4900 to 5000 pesos, right??? 😭 I actually get my pairs from Korea because none of the Philippines' available models fit me well. I end up paying even more. 😭😭😭😭😭
Same here in Guatemala, 1200 just for pointe shoes? Nuhuh I’m getting my 400 pointe shoes
So I actually wear Capezio Ava's and I absolutely love them lol. But girl I was not expecting those shoes to be that good. I think I might have to try them out.
Me too. I also wear the Avas
DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have these shoes and they're comfy/supportive!!!!!!!!
Ok y'all have convinced me
@@mermaidopulence8539 Took me 2 years to get to that "pointe". I'm an adult dancer with feet that are too bendy for my own good. LOL! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Me either…. ❤to be good honestly!
So infinitely better than the wish ones lol I am really surprised.
I just got some $30 amazon latin shoes and they lasted through a few weeks of rehearsale plus the show so hey thats all that matters right??
I can't believe how well they worked (for shoes that are soooo cheap and from Amazon)! Love your videos too Kenzie!
"So supportive" - not surprised, as they look like two, big, almost square boxes!! You could probably place them upright on the floor and they will not fall over.
At the price, I'm tempted to buy them as decorative objects. I used to dance as a girl, and when I stopped in my late teens I decided to keep my last pair as a keepsake - but alas, my mother, who never was very supportive of my doing ballet, threw them away in my absence 💔 I was heartbroken to say the least.
They break really low for a high vamped shoe. Kind of like the Avas and the European Balances had a baby and took ribbon sewing class from Duvals.
so glad to see you back!!!!
I have the same shoes just different size I have had them for 2 weeks this give me so much inspiration
Looks like you liked the longer Vamp and the larger toe box platform. Maybe you ought to consider that for you next shoes, especially since the knuckles on your left foot seem like they don't get great coverage in your current shoes.
Pause at 2:20 Look at the shank, it's not flat and it's not pre-arched at the arch. It's bowing from right behind the big toe joint. This is exactly where you absolutely can NOT have any bending in that direction at all or the shoe is dead, you are knuckling and can not maintain proper alignment, which is not functional when you do more advanced steps and not safe, as you are not working your foot and ankle correctly. Mackenzie is very strong and capable of handling this brief trial use safely, but I certainly hope less experienced dancers do not attempt to use shoes like this to save money.
I recently encountered these shoes, too. I was super skeptical and went through all the same thought processes. I like a longer vamp but these are yeeeeesh. I was shocked they were as supportive as they were.
by the way i recognised the the song playing at 3:35 its called od yishoma/yishama and its a jewish song usually sung/played at weddings. the lyrics in english are "Yet again there shall be heard, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem.
The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride."
It would be interesting to see how consistent they are with future pairs. Can you get a smaller size for a shorter vamp?
First omg you are a huge inspiration to me I am a young dancer and can’t wait saving money to buy your stuff!
i absolutely DIED when you were trying to bend the shank and od yishoma started playing
LOVE the leo!!
Good luck McKenzie. Hope the don’t break 🤞🏻
Thank You Mackenzie. Your amazing 😊
Would love for you to get Josephine from the Pointe Shop opinion
The dance educator|instructor just took over: the moment you said, "I'm going to attempt to go up on Pointe now.." I was AUDIBLY SCREAMED GIRLLLL YOUb BETTER mean WITH YOUR BARRE and it was too late, I shrieked (thinking they would disintegrate and crumble to pieces) and by the grace of GOD everything was okay.
I'm laughing and mindblown hahaah
Haven't done ballet im a while so tbh these might be worth getting just to dance around the house for fun 🤔
Josephine needs to see this 😮
I'd guess the higher vamp is what made them feel more stable. Is there a model of freed with a higher vamp?
I bought a different brand on Amazon and I absolutely loved them they are black and are so beautiful but Amazon really does not know about elastics so.... 🙄
I love your channel and I want you to try different Amazon ballet products and shoes ❤❤
the amount of people who believes it’s alright to dance in these in the comments is terrifying to me, PLEASE GET A PROFESSIONAL FITTING, you still need an actual fitting with professionally made shoes, your feet are unique and to ensure your safety don’t mess around with these, you’re very likely injure yourself
I bought It as a gift for myself in december and It had to literally distroy them to make It work hehe but they worked very good as a begginer buuut they they dont last too long😢
What Brand Are these? I clicked on the link and it isn’t letting me, I believe they are IJONDA?
Orthopedic point shoes. Comfort 10, Aesthetic 3 😂😂😂
You should collaborate with Josephine and do a fitting for pointe shoes
guys please get a professional pointe shoe fitting!!! getting these shoes to actually wear is dangerous. she’s a professional. love you kenz!!! ❤
Yeah… I feel like she shouldn’t of said that at the end.
@@gabrielle4821yeah, newbie pointes should always be fitting in store.
Hello! I tried clicking on the link, but it doesn’t work for me, I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the point shoes please? I’m a beginner, and I really want to try them out! Thanks
So you think I could paint these blue and use them for my spider Gwen cosplay? I didn't want to use my expensive one, so this could work?
These would be good to wear around the house 😂
I have a feeling that they are going to be worth every penny.
Hey Mackenzie!!❤
LOVEE ❤
Video idea: responding/recreating the Wired video, 21 Levels of Ballet: Easy to Complex ?
What are they called on Amazon
Those remind me of what Balance European often looks like. (not a fan of that shoe btw) Reason I say that is how it looks like you are knuckling/sinking into the box. When you put your usual shoes on it was readily apparent that the cheap shoes were breaking significantly lower, which is probably why it looked so bad and ill fitting.
This, they looked so bad.
many years ago when I danced, I used Selva point shoes… Are they still a thing? It was a long time ago
Omg I literary looked at those like 2 days ago
The link doesn't work T^T Do you have another link for your purchase you can send? Thank you! :3
The Crocs of the ballet world.
Is the brand day dance bc the link doesn’t work
They aren’t that ugly but they just seem to break really low…maybe if you 3/4 it that could help
Sooo... I want a pair, but don't see the link.
Also, love that little Klezmer music moment!
Link is in description now!! :)
That is my studio!
is this good if you cant afford to be fitted?
I'm SO SURPRISED by this video lol.
the vamp was so long that your foot was making an angle on pointe 😂(if anyone knows what i mean)
Vid idea ! buy the cheapest pointe shoes!
i use the avas 😭
I just picked up some $40 sneaker style roller-skates from Walmart. I replaced the wheels, but the boxes seem nice for tricks.
I am hopeful trying them out tomorrow skating at the park 🥰
I feel this adventure...
I literally just bought point shoes from Amazon and maybe they will be good
what shoes are those
6:10 can someone please tell me what that move is called? i did it in a dance once and can’t remember what it was called.
Ive mostly heard them referred to as hops en pointe. Maybe that will help your search
I don’t know anything about pointe shoes or ballet, I just enjoy watching. But even I could see that the heels on the Amazon shoes were hideous. Every time you went up they bulged out behind. 😂
I don't see the link in the bio :-/
They really do look nice on you. Maybe use them for dances that need better support. I can see the support they give. I am 70 years old and my point shoes back 50 years ago, Capezios, were $20. I made 50 cents an hour and had to save and save for a pair of pointe shoes. I might get two pair a year unless "mamaclaus" got me some for Christmas. They were very stiff, too. We did not want to break them in too much at first, either, because the price was sooo prohibitive.
They’re $30 now as on 6/6/23.
Which color pink did you get? Peachy? Or little-girl pink?
Niceeeeee❤❤❤❤❤
MacKenzie❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
ok from far away they look great, but then you did the close up and I was like nvm- 😅
And i thought a $10 oboe reed was expensive in the 2000s. Now they're 20. Comepared to a $2 clarinet reed
Really fun to Watch these kind of Videos. Would be nice if you could do a closer direct comparisson Next time.
hello kenze can you please kindly film using the sewing machine using the dancer shoes?please kindly let me know ok?thank you very much 😊
Wow i had just bought these! I feel so much more confident about it 😄 i ordered a size up just incase, but im wondering if theyre too lose now? I can fit my finger between my heel and the shoe, is that normal :?
It is not. Please go to an actual fitter because you can really hurt yourself in the long run
Please do! I’ve heard so many horror stories!
How much are professional pointe shoes?
about 100 dollars
Really depends on the brand
Yeah it depends, I think mine are $120
$70-130
a lot if you go through them as fast as professionals do
Omg I bought this Pointe shoes months ago and broke my wrist from doing a pirouette 😅
But you're going to regular ballet classes and your teacher approved of these shoes???
Actually I am a self taught ballerina
And was just learning to do pirouette on pointe cuz I just learned how to do one on flat
@@jaylasucks9058 okay let me make something clear. You CAN‘T go on pointe without proper advice by an actual teacher. Ballet isn‘t something you can teach yourself. Just because you can do something on flats doesn‘t mean you can just straight up learn it on pointe. Pointe shoes must be fitted by a professional fitter and buying them somewhere for cheap is extremely dangerous. But, in your case, I don‘t even think it‘s the shoe! You just went on pointe way too early and probably didn‘t even build up the core muscles you need and thus had no balance whatsoever. Building these takes YEARS, minimum 2 years of proper training which you don‘t have. Also you can‘t go on pointe before you turn 13 because before that your foot is still developing and can also seriously be injured.
If you want to continue dancing, I suggest just going for a real ballet studio with real teachers instead of breaking your wrist. And learn to be patient please. And mind that it is never too late to start with Ballet
Ok so this was just a joke and idk why you be making a bug deal out of it and actually I am 14 and do go to a professional ballet class and has been dancing sense I was 5 and never broke my wrist
i think ill get them fr im broke af
loved the fiilm tho!!!
You are awesome and I very much enjoy your videos! Could you please give us the pointe shoe link again? This that you've posted takes me nowhere. Or, at least post the brand and style Amazon calls it. Thanks!
#the point shop
I got My point shoes from amazon
its pretty unfair how expensive they are and how we go through one pair in around a week
you didn't like them girl, please link!
They are linked!!
Awoop, jumpskeere
Ok but the video reviews under the Amazon listing are UNHINGED 😅
Honey P L E A S E be careful! ❤
It looks like a cups video
#josephinelee #thepointeshop
On camera, they were not as ugly as you thought they were. Still, if they were really as comfortable for you say they are, they sound as though they would be a good pair of practice points. Rub those toes in some rosin.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
girl, they aren't that ugly haha
Bro what if you just tried a 6 instead of a 7?
I'm not a dancer, but even I can tell that these pointe shoes are terrible (okay, I have a small obsession with pointe shoes, so I've watched a lot of videos. I do not own a pair).
They do not look Ugly to me at all
Please don’t injure yourself trying these 😳
Oh, my gosh. Isn't she darling?
This music are you Jew?💗
They do not look good though. At all, but interesting.
Looks like you have your feet in "plastic cups"
I duct think they look that ugly, though ob the Freeds are better. Honestly, with feet like that, you could wear bricks on your feet and they'd look pretty.
They are definitely ugly on the foot, but maybe okay for practice?? IDK - - Nice video
This was a great video, until you suggested beginners get these. NOOOOOO!!!!!!! Only wear pointe shoes when you have been okay'd by your teacher, and you have had a professional fitting!!!!!!!! They work for you because you already have the strength and technique. Beginners could injure themselves.
Very true but pointe shoes are extremely expensive and i think with supervision beginner pointe students could do some light work in these shoes :) not any crazy dancing of course. Just an option for financially less fortunate people who still want to experience this art form i think its a good option
You are simply stunning 😍 omfg ❤
