Thank you for the feedback. We have gotten a lot of these messages now. Several guys took it upon themselves to install this setup on the 300 and reported that it is good to go and plug -and-play right out of the box. Our local dealer that we work with can't seem to keep one on their showroom floor for us to use in a video so we have not gotten to that yet. Seems as though these bikes are very popular. I know there is one difference between the previous 250 and the new 300, and that is the relay type. While the 250 took our Gen2 relay, the 300 uses our Gen2-F relay.
@@TSTindustries Good to know! I almost ordered the relay for the KLX250. Wanted to see how it worked first. Will likley order the gen 2 f pretty quick. Thanks again!
Will GET make a lot to streamline he front turn signals? Either new lights or even just sitting that tucks within closer to the bike. Make it match the look n theme of the rear set up in this vid.
I am an idiot and my friend and I were able to put this on my KLX 250 and it looks sharp as hellllll. Thank you for making a good product! This video helped our install as well. Cheers, TST!
I bought a 2021 klx300 with this kit installed. I does not have the adjustable license plate bracket. It does have the additional license plate light and I think a relay in the form of a small round cylinder about the size of a 35 mm film canister. The place where my wiring and where you showed wiring placement leaves it exposed to rocks and mud. I’ll look for better routing.
Great video that was very helpful. If you are considering what you think is the "equivalent" of this kit from ebay or amazon, think again. It took me nearly three hours and two blown fuses to get my cheap one installed. None of the holes were where they belonged. No wiring diagram. The diagram shown in the advertisement, did not even have the same colored wires. If you are totally broke, wait and get this one. It will be worth it. If you aren't totally broke, buy this one immediately. Thanks for the video and help, TST. I hope that some people will read this and learn from my mistake. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
I just installed my kit on my 2021 KLX 300 Dual Sport! I followed the steps in this video and install was fun and pretty straight forward (though t did take me a lot longer than 15 minutes to install - haha). Bike looks amazing now! Also gives more clearance for my Delkevic exhaust which was just centimeters from the stock tail-lights and plastics. HIGHLY recommended mod!
If you intend on restoring the wiring and need OEM connectors for the bike harness side maybe we can help you. Shoot our customer service guys a message through our website.
I typically recommend doing a relay replacement vs resistors. If you must go with the resistors I would say the best guide is the paper instruction sheet we send with the resistors. You have to use the tap splice connectors that are included to wire the resistors in parallel with each side of the signal circuit. They aren't polarized so no worries on directionality of installation. So one resistor between the positive and ground lead of the right signal , and the same on the left.
You would need our pod signal mounting kit, signals, harness converters. If you are intending to keep both tail light signals and external signals plugged in you would then need the Y-splitter harness in addition ot hte above.
you would need some kind of bracket for each signal that will enable you to physically mount the signals with this setup. You will also need to wire the tail light signal positive wire to the OE signal lamp positive wire on each side, or purchase our Kawasaki Y-splitter harness to make it plug and play. If you consider using our aftermarket signals, then we have brackets that will mount those to the license plate bracket of this setup. I am not sure if our signal brackets would work with the OEM lamps.
No. This is a light capsule that we developed for many uses and putting a white led circuit in there at 90 degrees would have negated usability on some of the setups. For license plate illumination we have our stealthy Low Profile License Plate Light
I’ve had this installed for a few months now and my blinkers kind of just work when they want too and but the break light is always working, any idea of what this could be?
TSTindustries yeah I screen recorded it and played the video back, the problem is that they had never been touched since 2011. Thanks for the help anyway!
@@ryandoyle9165 if you are doing integrated tail light AND the signals then you would also need the Y-splitters tstindustries.com/tst-kawasaki-y-style-signal-harness-splitter.html
I tried to discern that through just examining the parts diagrams of the frame and tail components, and the conclusion was that it probably does not readily fit. We want to make a direct bolt on kit but have not had that bike in the shop yet.
@@TSTindustries The front blinkers? There isn't a link in the description and I looked through your videos, don't see one for that. Can you please link me
The tail end of the 300 looks the same as the 250 but when you look at parts breakdowns of the frame there is quite a bit of difference there. I would say that our setup here is not directly compatible with the 230 or the 300. If you live close to Lake Helen, FL then we can take your bike in and make the setup specific to your bike at no cost in exchange to have the bike for prototyping the parts.
What is the reason for this not meeting dot regulations? I probably will be returning unless it is an easy fix I can do myself such as using oem blinkers, adding a license plate light and adding reflectors.
DOT laws state the turn signals must be at least 7 inches apart. For that reason, every integrated tail light is not DOT approved however some companies found a loophole by simply having the DOT inspector not plug in the turn signal wires.
Laws differ from state to state, and country to country. I cannot say what would make it street legal in your area. First and foremost, DOT approved equipment has to undergo testing and certification. The equipment you are asking about has no certification.
@@kahlilmorant5342 I ended up not purchasing it, after removing my rear fender/lights i noticed the assembly was just too different so it wasn't going to fit at all.

@@TSTindustries Appreciate the reply and offers. Certainly wish I was close as I’d be more than happy to let you guys hang onto the bike. The 2024’s have been hitting sales floors in MI for the last month or so. It’ll take a little work for you guys to revise the kit for this bike. The main tail frame is different, and the plate / drop fender is a two piece design with spot welded nuts on it. Those nuts are used to attach the top main fender to. The previous years did not have this and if you discard it, the top fender will flop all around. Definitely will take some time to change your kit around.
With most of these kits I see the plate slanted upward. If you bottom out the suspension after a big bump, is there any way the plate can contact the tire?
We have not seen that happen. Even with the long suspension travel you end up all over the rubber bottom out cusion before the plate makes contact. If you are still worried about that then check out our adjustable angle license kit that we launched recently. It's an option within the product page that enables adjustability to the hanging angle of the license plate mount.
For the economics of manufacturing that kit along with others that receive that same tail light the angle is what it is. For those guys that want a different angle we offer a different bracket set that clamps in between the frame mounting bracket and tail ligth and enables installer defined adjustability of the license plate angle. You can see the vide of that product demonstrated on a Suzuki bike here: th-cam.com/video/KiGPnN7l8ho/w-d-xo.html
