I thought about doing something similar to my seat foam. The different concept I had was to drill holes in extra foam to make it more cushy with equivalent support and contoured sculpting. I'll be interested on how yours turns out. Best wishes
Just out of curiosity, did you try attaching the 2 rubber bushings that are located under the front seat to the front seat itself? The are 2 rubber bushings attach to to the 2 holes in front of the seat. Those bushing are in the compartment under the seat. Reply
Hey just wondering I just ordered a 15 front sprocket for my 21 tracer 9 gt . Looks like the same bike as yours . So I had been told that I would lose cruise control if I went down a tooth on the front . Did you experience this problem ? A member in the tracer forum had told me to change out the rear to avoid this issue . Curious to know your experience now having it for awhile
Actually I sold the bike after only 4 or 5 months of owning it. I could not get the ergos to gel for me. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and every time I would ride it for more than an hour, I was in a lot of pain. So I sold it and got the ZX14R and haven't had that issue...
@@SquireSCA i completely understand, I just had two spine surgeries and I have gone through 2 bikes this season trying to find one that was comfortable for me . The tracer is it ! So I’m trying like hell to get it to be the hooligan it was promised to be ! The newer gen is 2 inches longer then the older gen ; so that affects it’s wheelie capability’s greatly ! So I’m trying to modify it , and get it a little more spunk . So can you tell me ; did you lose cruise control once you put that smaller front sprocket on ? That’s my worry. I had someone tell me in a forum that if I went down one on the front ; I would lose cruise control . Did you experience this ?? Thank you in advance Dan
@@danielbourque8945 I did not lose cruise control. If you want more zip, take it and get the ECU flashed and get all the ride by wire restrictions removed...
@@SquireSCA I have an appointment to get that done and the sprocket on September 12 . Really hoping that gives me what I want out of the bike ! If not I’m gonna try to sell and not lose a ton of money and just build a tracer 10 . I’m gonna get an mt10 and put hard cases and a wind screen , with a Corbin saddle for the comfort . Really wish I had just done that to begin with ! But I thought the tracer was just like the mt-09 I didn’t realize it was so much more tamed .
Tried spacers but you have to use the bar in order to keep the lock piece from tilting up. I might have to take it apart to make a new video to better show how it all works
Good information, thanks! Btw have you ever adjusted the handlebar to the "forward" position? I am trying to get it done on mine, but am relativly baffeled as to how big a pain it is... Obviously its SUPER simpel, but i cant for the life of me get a tool under the handlebar to loose the bolt underneath. Do i really need to remove bodywork to get it done, or do you have a smart way to do this? :P
I did that mod, and then I moved it back to the lower position. High bars make my neck hurt. For whatever reason, I find bars comfortable when they are low. Moving it forward also raises it. As for how, you need a ratchet with a long extension, like 18 inches or so, a 14mm socket, and one of those attachments between the extension and the socket that swivels, so that it can bend a bit. It's tricky to lay on your back on the ground and feed it up in there, and then loosen the nuts 1 turn, while trying to hold the wheel from turning, but its not hard. Its more annoying than anything... haha
@@SquireSCA Interesting, i actually only thought it moved the handlebar forward, not "up" Makes me question if i even want to bother doing it tbh, i just wanted a bit more weight on my hands rather than my ass :P
@@Surpriseify Well, remember that the top triple clamp is not parallel to the ground. It's angled back a bit towards the rider. So moving it forward, is also gonna move it "up a slope" a bit, to use that analogy...
@@SquireSCA Totally makes sense, i simply failed to think that far. :P Perhaps a bar thats a bit flatter would be what i am looking for. Do you have your footpegs in "stock position", any issues with ground clerance when getting at it? Stonking bike regardless, 100% better with a sports screen rather than the helmet hurricane generator the stock was haha.
@@Surpriseify Footpegs are in the higher and rearward position. The issue I have with bars extends beyond this bike. For whatever reason, low and forward bars don't bother me, but higher bars do. I am almost better with clipons than I am with touring bars, which is the opposite of most people. lol.
your videos are really neat. I've been waiting for this bike for a year here in AUS. pick mine up next month. keep it up!
i just ordered a corbin seat, its lower and keeps ur balls of the tank and gives u a bit of back support
man this is an awesome idea! Going to go do it right now lol

I got some great half inch thick, spongy memory foam that I think will do the trick. Gonna give it a crack tomorrow and post up the process.

That seems to be what Yamaha is doing on their comfort sheet.
I look forward to your post.

Yup. Tried it every which way, couldn't;t get comfortable, so I ended up getting rid of the bike.

Thanks for the video.
Could you have just used some spacing washers on the studs instead of cutting the spacer plate?

I would click that link, thanks for all your T9 content
I ended up using two 1/4" aluminum aviation washers. The sliding piece stays put even though it's not up against a flat surface
Good information, thanks!
