What do you mean when you state "serial Link"? DB9? The only serial connection that I've had to use on a router is to connect to the console port. Am I not getting something?
Great video. Thanks. I'm uncertain about non-CISCO devices being unable to use CISCO HDLC though. This is from CISCO NETACAD: "Although Cisco HLDC (also referred to as cHDLC) is proprietary, Cisco has allowed many other network equipment vendors to implement it"
I believe what he meant was that a non-CISCO device using HDLC cannot connect to a CISCO device using cHDLC. I believe he was talking really about the protocols and not the brand of routers but I agree it might be confusing wording.
