Nice one! These are probably the best sculpts yet from OPR, and I love the colour scheme you used! Painting white is never easy, so you're braver than me!
Thanks a lot! Yeah... next time I will go easier on the white, leave a little more gray... then do the paint chips before the gloss coat... that was the killer.
That's good to hear that someone else things they are awesome looking models. Showed some to my age of fantasy group and they thought they were really ugly. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
The Eternal Dynasty minis are currently in their second month of release on the One Page Rules Patreon. $10 usd gets you this month's Eternal Dynasty, this month's Beastmen, a fleet of ships for OPR'S spaceship combat game, and some terrain for a few different factions. Every time the Patreon hits a subscription benchmark, they offer a 70% off discount for their myminifactory store. Currently, the discount is up through next month. OPR is a fairly decent value for what you pay for the subscription.
This channel is so underrated. I can see ya gaining more popularity as the opr community keeps expanding. Which it's doing quite quickly. This January they went from a little under 5000 patreons to a little over 7000.
Thanks a lot! Yeah YT is really hard, in terms of "growth" like I didn't realize how hard until I started doing this. But I am just going to keep doing me and hopefully the growth comes.
Turned out great for white. I love having a pile of One Page Rules models primed and just sitting around for when I want to try something. I've given up on regular armies and fully committed to printing my stuff at half-size so I can have mini-skirmish. So much flexibility and fun.
I like your takeaway with this. It might not have come out the way you envisioned it (they look great), but instead of getting mad about it, you took it as a learning experience! Good lesson 👍
Well I am resurrecting my 2nd/3rd ed nids after 23 years on the shelf doing nothing but the occasional retro hammer game. It's been fun 3d modeling all my throwback army. Doing organics like this has been a rabbit hole of learning.
@@thomaswilliams5005 lol thankfully I am a daemons player, so i have never put my army completely away. But once I get this big bug sculpting project off my desk I will likely redo my entire daemons army 3d printed. I hate a lot of the modern daemons models. Around 50% of my daemons are old metal sculpts. The have a charm the modern plastics just lack. So revisiting them will be fun. Mainly my biggest gripe are the blue and pink horrors... I loved the goofy big hands and the complete horror of the diaz era horrors. The modern ones are just, well lame.
Always look forward to a new video from you. I like OPR and I'm saving to buy 3 Mars 4k printers for my channel and other projects like the Go Big or Go Home challenge I'm doing with a few other TH-cam crafters building a 2.5 foot tall mech. Look forward to see more videos
thank you so much for posting this, its amazing and i was looking for how I might paint my own OPR Dynasty guys I have sitting on my painting table. How would you go about a black/white/orange color combo for them? I might do what you did, camo (fall) on the pants, white armor, etc.
I would keep the black for their pants and shirts under the armor, and go black and orange on the armor plates. Use orange as the main color and black as the accent (on shoulder pad, and helmet)
Hey Troy, I watched your blender videos and heard you mention that it's difficult to work in blender because it's not by measure. I'm a canadian architect and we learned on a program called rhino 3d. It is much closer to CAD and everything can either be done by eye or by exact measure. It can export stl and has some tools for closing gaps in shapes etc. It may be an easier option for you if you come from an autocad background. Check out cgpersia for a copy.
@@FacilityD20 cgpersia has a ton of premade models you can download too. Whole building sets, kitbash pieces(I think you would really get some use out of these) and all the top software. Canadian laws protect us a lot more from copy write than the states.
How's the scale for these guys? I found that their alien hive models were too small to be nid proxies and I was a little bit in the dark about what to scale them to to make them the right size.
They are about the same size as Tau and fit in well next to my Eldar. For the Alien Hives I would scale up about 10-15% in your slicer program and try that.
@@FacilityD20 Thank you! Do you filter it out or just leave it in the cure and wash station? Also love your channel, as a beginner I really appreciate that you show all of the steps rather than just skip through them like some other 3d printing channels. Really helps me visualize the workflow and gives me confidence that I can do it
@@ce4276 I have tried to filter it, but with little luck thus far. I am going to keep experimenting with filtering it to see if I can find a way to make it last longer. Now I basically leave it in there... probably not the best advice. Dealing with washing parts is the worst part of Resin printing
Tau really hooked me as models long before I realized 40K was a poor excuse for a mini-game. Really great models with good lore but really terrible army. I'm not a fan of those knock-offs because they're too derivative of Shogun models. But big fan of your channel and this was a fun build. Why wear gloves for some stuff and then not when you airbrush? I don't understand you MAN!
I live my life a quarter mile at a time haha... I always say later when i got to wash my hands... man I should have worn gloves haha. Thanks for the kind words as well!
That one page rules MIB clip. Just, chef's kiss.
Hahaha thanks

Their Beastmen are just as good, and are completely different from what GW used to make.
The gloss on the drones and helmets does come together nicely.
Thanks a ton!!

Yeah it's a great value, 3d sculpting is very time consuming as well. $10 isn't a lot. Thanks.

Another great thing with 3d printing, you don't have to commit to one thing because it's so cheap lol
Totally the reason I back OPR, was to get these Eternal Dynasty dudes, to use as Tau.
Ah that's cool to hear.

Thanks! Yes for sure, now when I want to do this again, I'll know what not to do!
Awesome paint jobs. I understand how as an artist it may not match what was in your head, but I think they look great.
Thank you! I did learn how I can do it better next time however. So that is a win.
Those sculpts are crispy. The more videos I see like this, the closer I come to buy a 3d printer.
Do it
I love finding cool models to 3D print for the latest GW codexes. I can finally “afford” all the models I’ve always wanted to paint
Same here! Its cool to be able to find and print something without drooping $100s every time you want to try or paint something new.

@@FacilityD20 thanks I have the first part of one of the legs done and going to finish up leg construction this Saturday on live stream
Looking good, Troy. I like the purple and red pops. Nicely done
Thanks a lot!!
They look pretty cool, almost like alternate universe Imperial Stormtroopers.
Oh yeah.... that would be cool for Star Wars Mini game... good call
i like your vids man keep up the good work! i printed out these fellas too a few days ago and loving the results
Thanks you! Getting into a groove with it now.
Nice video! i am really tempted to get these too, OPR have some ace minis for sure
Thank you! They have a really big selection now as well.

have you upgraded your printer? doesn't look like the standard ball joint for the build plate
Yes, there is a bed leveling kit in it. Much better now.
Did you print these at normal scale and base on 32mm?
Yes
So is there an equivalent to the Farsight Enclaves?
I'm not sure... they have a lot on their Patreon you can check them out there.
Do you reuse your IPA? Excited to finally use my Photon from the sale a few years ago
Yes, the stuff I have in there now has been there for a while, but it time to change it I think
