You didn't do this watch justice when it comes to it's functionality - it's strongest point. This watch shows month/date on the home screen, has a multi alarm and countdown timer, 5 bar water resistance compared to 3 bar of A158/168. No other vintage models have that besides A500, but that one has a totally different form factor.
It also shows the current time in stw and cdt mode. An often underrated but very handy feature. Overall this is one of the best "vintage" watches Casio currently offers.
Thanks for this video, I was looking in to this watch but was worried about readability. Not as good as non-negative displays, but not as bad as I feared, and the light looks cool. I'll give it some consideration, thanks for helping me decide!
For maximum legibility I usually stay with positive displays (altough I have quite a few very good to read negative display watches as well) but that B-640 looks simply stunning with the negative display. I even like the way the LED backlight looks on this one. Usually I'm all over Casio EL/Timex Indiglo when it comes to illumination but that orange LED's in this case are very nice. You should have mentioned that the watch has a 24h stopwatch and a 24h countdown timer - settable to the second. That alone is rather a sparsity in those small "vintage" class Casio watches but also showing the current time in stw. and cdt. mode is truly the icing on the cake.
For me, negative display watches are usable only outside and in bright sunlight days. But i like that orange led light. Does the watch have enough spacing to be used with nato straps instead of the bracelet?
@@watchgardenuk thank you! I'm overwhelmed by the choices between a158, a168, a700, and b640. Unfortunately i can't see them personally here so I'm ordering online.
Definitely pointless like A158 IMO. Why spend more to get a metal bracelet on a resin case... A metal bracelet that scratchs an is scratched, pull threads and wrist hairs and of course weights not adding any real benefit all day long. Just why? Only for style? The all black plain LW204-1BEF cost a fraction and it is better whatever... in 24grams of comfort.
Been wearing these metal strapped casio watches for 44 years without any problems with hairs. I personally don't like resin straps or any straps with buckles. My 2nd casio watch (1983 model) lasted 35 years. Had to replace the battery 5 times. Unfortunately that model is no longer available. I currently have the A158W. Not as good in my opinion. The older model had 4 control buttons and was easier to operate and had a slightly larger body.

The casio x rag & bone vintage watch is beautiful. Overpriced imo, but it's so good looking.
I wish they would use a MIP display in these basic Casios. MIP is infinitely more readable than the old school transflective negative LCD.
Battery life may be reduced though.

This one is actually usable. I also have a negative W800h, now that one is bad.
Can you explain plz what is difference between B640WB-1ADF and 1AEF?
Got it. Dig it.
Thanks for the video.
Are you sure this is B640WB-1AEF not B640WB-1BEF ?
Can you please put a link to buy it?
It is the second one - the title is misleading.
id like to hear your opinion on 2 related watch, both with 3 row display. the w800h and w96h.
Gray version of this or A168? Which do you think is better?
I prefer the a168 shape and aesthetic
