I would recommend using the term affordable over saying cheap. Casio makes watches very well and isn’t often seeking the cost cutting measures that the term cheap implies. I have owned a number of Casios over the years. Currently I have two of the best Casio watches that I have owned (in their respective price range). I have always been a Casio fan, but these two watches have made me fall in love with the brand. Here is a brief overview of why I love my current Casios: 1. G-Shock G9000 Mudman ($80) a. Been using a w-800 for about a year now because of work, and I am super impressed with how it's held up over this time for a 20 dollar watch. It's been dunked in water, scratched and scuffed, covered in paint, cement, and chlorine, and it still works perfectly with no issues. The only part that's given me any trouble is the strap is starting to wear out so I might need to give that a replacement.
My brother is in army , he needed rough and tough watch coz he have to do his duty in difficult areas which are wet ,no light in night and sometimes away from crowd for some days. So I gifted him Casio illuminator . And he is really happy because of practicality of watch in tough times. It's really great and economic watch
Glad to see my sgw100 thrown with the bunch. A perfect companion for more than 10 years. Paid like $50 at Walmart and changed the fabric strap just once
Yay another Ben's Watch Club Casio video! The "classic square design from the late 1980s" - the Gshock came out in 1983! And that DW-5000 was clearly a ruggedized watch in the style of 50 other Casios that had been out since the late 1970s. Many digital watches at the time looked like this. Look at the first digital watch ever from 1972 - the Hamilton Pulsar P1. That inspired a generation. About 2 years ago those BEM-SL100D watches were listed all over eBay for around $60 - $80. There were like 50 of them. One well seen youtube video and they were gone a month later. One whole category of inexpensive Casios that you should look at are the resin analog watches. The MRW-200 is insanely popular and really durable. The MQ-24 series, which I think is the *most* popular Casio in Japan. The MRW-210 and MW-240 are the larger alternatives to these two watches. Then there are the many Casio "Forester" watches, plastic analog watches that come with nylon/leather straps and a light. There's a dozen variations of the FT-500 and FT-600.
Nice review of the Casio range. I have a Lineage LCW-M100 and couldn't be happier. The value is off the charts with solar, world wide atomic radio sync, titanium, sapphire crystal, ana-digi with day/date perpetual calendar, timers, stopwatch, alarms, world time, LED and lume, and standard lugs allowing swapping the band, all for around $200. For me it's the best time keeping instrument available for design and features at any price.
I think my issue with that module is the setting. Using the same button for setting and reset and not being able to go up and down. Ideally needs 4 buttons IMO
@@Awkwardfruitfly I almost never use the buttons. The timer, alarm and stopwatch functions are not useful to me, and since it auto syncs with atomic time for me there's almost never a need to use the buttons after the initial setup. The only one I may use is for the LED but even that's rare. I would prefer 4 buttons for symmetry if nothing else, but given all the other features of this watch that's a very small nit to pick.
Just ordered Casio A700W-1A as my first watch after after a long. I remember using Casio Calculator watch in my childhood. Its Casio that made me fall in love with watches again. Eagerly waiting to wear it.
Great overview vid! You definitely introduce several lesser-known Casios for us to consider. Casio has put out some great models over the years, every collection needs a few.
Let's not forget about the legendary IR Remote Control Casios 📺 When we were kids changing channels, turning max volume or simply shutting down all stores and restaurants Tvs... It even worked with some car locks and ACs as you got the IR codes 😅
Bought the Edifice after watching your review and I love it! Wear it to work every day and often get compliments, thank you for bringing it to my attention!
I have had a stainless Casio Edifice EFD-100 for almost 20 years; even back then it was so hard to find a decent digital steel watch with a clear uncluttered design, and I've become ridiculously attached to the thing!
I have a feeling this is going to be a popular video over the next couple of years. Analogue Casio's are some of my favourites, because I never liked the digital very much.
I've been using f91-w since 2019 , haven't taken it off my wrist ever since i bought it. It stood the mud, water and shocks during my training. I shower with it and it still works and it's only Water resistant !!!
Casio W-86 or F-105W are the best watches for postman in UK. Indestructible, comfortable, battery last long, low profile so it doesn't catch on anything during manual labour, and illumination for that dark close.
Casio G-Shock watches are my go-to watches (I have 5 of ‘em, including the DW-5600) and, like you, never knew some of these ever existed. Truly appreciate you sharing this list.
Got my GW-B5600 and haven’t looked back. I’ve grown to love G-Shocks so much! It’s nice to know it’s durable, solar-powered, and looks so simple, yet tasteful. Now I’m kind of excited to see all the new Casio variants that I’m probably gonna pick up in the future. Great video!!! ☮️
Few months back I found F91 on Amazon … something I adored as my first watch ⌚️ in early seventies . I didn’t waste a second to buy my old love and now this is my favourite among half a dozen I have.
I have both variants of the A700 but it wasn't the grey one that came with the nice mesh strap in my case. I also have the blue dial variant of the EFV-100 which is one of my faves, defo a keeper. I didn't know about the EFV-130D or MTD-1079D but now are both on my wish list. Thanks
I think the Casio EFV-120DB-1AVUEF deserves a place on this list as well. It’s currently my daily driver. It has the same dial and size as the EFV-100D-1AVUEF but adds a rotating bezel and omits the polished links in the bracelet. Gives it the look of a tool watch. BTW I’d love to see a review of the Casio Oceanus OCW-T200S-2AJF somewhere in the future. To me it represents the pinnacle of Casio watches.
CASIO's products are simply phenomenal. Not only watches but many many things. I own their flagship arranger keyboard (CASIO CT-X5000) and for 600$ it packs features unheard of in keyboards that cost below 2000$ while the sound quality is unreal.
Casio often claims their battery life would last for 10 years. But they lied to me and give me 11 (yep, eleven) years and 3 months. Casio is what i would call, benevolent god.
@@MichaelandCathy1999 But that's solar powered. My citizens don't last 4 months in the watchbox before they die and require charging. A Casio will run for 15 years+ if left in a drawer
Same here on a tough solar Casio. But sourcing the replacement rechargeable battery locally is impossible in many regions of the world. So at first glance, solar is not even worth it compared to the 10 year battery. But you get much better illumination with solar and you can use it as much as you like. Just something to be aware of.
My first Casio watch was a simple one displaying time only. Then I was fascinated by Data bank watch DB500. Then I bought W-201 way back in 2002 and it’s still going strong.
MTP-1370 -> the watch with the WORST possible pics at any retailer, yet one of the BEST looking in real life! It's absurd how easy it is to miss this watch when browsing... I'd recommend the blue-dial one! Another hidden / dirtcheap gem -> MTP-1200A! I DARE YOU to find a cheaper watch with actual sapphire crystal
I swear I am lost with Casio's strategy of not selling the s**t out of watches people are dying to buy. I remember thinking that while hunting for the LTP. Great content, as always 👏
Nice video Ben, keep them coming ! I bought the Edifice EFV-100 as my everyday watch (after your review) and I think its fantastic, if only it had sapphire would be bargain of the century. Great Casio round up. Would love to see a Citizen, Timex, Seiko etc round up if you get the chance.
GOD TIER! every watch enthusiast no matter what level need to at least give Casio their proper respect! no brand can even come close to Casio for the ultra affordable watch market.
Excellent video, thanks for showing some models I wasn't aware of. It's quite fascinating how many cool models (and far from only digitals) Casio have. And often very affordable. And I've mentioned this before, but I really hope young people learn about your channel and realise that there so many good alternatives to crappy overpriced instagram fame fashion watches. You've done great job with that in several videos.
I managed to get an A700 for only £17.99 at a jewellers a couple of years ago now in a sale as it was the last one they had in stock at that time and they didn't know when another delivery would happen because of the demand for them. The shop had sold all their stock of this particular model in just a couple of days. It really is a good watch and like Ben said it's my favourite go too watch out of all my Casio watches in my collection. Another favourite of mine is the 5610's G-Shocks which I also wear quite a lot. Great video Ben.
I have an SGW-100 and I absolutely love it! I also own 2 G-Shock watches and I prefer the SGW-100 for 2 reasons. 1. The buttons are MUCH better and much easier to push. 2. I like the display much more as well. I do like the look of both my G-Shock watches as well, but the buttons are awful and very difficult to press. They also cost MUCH more than the SGW-100. Bang for buck, you can NOT beat the SGW-100.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Hey Ben! Love your videos and I’ve found gems through your videos for my personal collection. A watch I would like you to have a look at it is casio edifice efr 527l which looks and feels more premium and with that panda dial colour way gives the aesthetic of Rolex daytona! Another alternative to it can be edifice efr 526l-7avudf. Keep the good work going man! Cheers 🍻
I always felt special like bond with the calc watch in the eighties! The G Shocks worked very well in the Navy and I think it’s time to revisit my old friends at Casio!
Good video man. I was into watched years ago and recently have re-peaked my interest of sub $200 watches and this list is excellent. Casio is an OG of the watch world. I’ve also been looking into some Seiko & Orient watches as well. Those will be my top three brands for now. Feel free to drop suggestions anyone. Cheers!
I wore an inexpensive digital A 700 everyday for years on very rough dirty construction jobs. I retired 4 years ago, and would never buy another A700 but I am still using the same amazing old watch I worked with! The batteries last forever too!
@@Ayoub-y1wIt is! I kept it in my collection for a year before I gave it away to a friend of mine who wears it everyday, and it’s still working. The strap is quite durable (but that also depends on how you treat it).
In Indonesia F-91 is currently priced at ~Rp150k which roughly equals to 3 Big Mac meal or 10x common breakfast. Fake casio watches (branded/unbranded) starts from even $1-$2 range so there's always a market for them I guess 🤷
@@the_once-and-future_king. the food in Indonesia is incredibly cheap, but the minimum wage is also low lmao, it balances out. Minimum wage is around 200-300usd /month. You can live in Indonesia for 100-200usd/month. Rents are around 60-100ish usd/month depending on the facilities ( some are even more cheap ). You can eat a full day meal ( breakfast, meal and dinner ) for around 3usd lmao
Our 2 year old once found my f-91w in a drawer and did not want to give it back. Calls it his „beep beep watch“ and loves it more than most of his toys. ... i have bought a second f-91w and hide the rest of my collection a bit better now.
Took me a while to get into watches and this video have been really helpful on starting with casio watches! Starting from the bottom of the barrel, I've recently gotten an affordable casio MTP-V300L for around 36 USD. Although it has a plated brass case, i think it makes up for its value with date, day of the week, and 24 hours complications for the price.
WOW! Great vid! Too bad one of my favorite Casios didn't make the list. It happens to be the WVQ-M410. It gives you the 100% analog look with a chronograph and timer right on the face. It also is Tough Solar with the Multiband 6 Wave Ceptor. Also with the WT function as well. No light, but does have a great lume on it. It also has an alarm.
You should check out Casio's Oceanus line. It's Casio's premium watch line available only in Japan, but if you can get your hands on one I've heard incredible things 👍
I'm not too knowledgeable on watches, for sure but this video is a game changer for me. I don't need any not Casio watch because they have everything I'd want.

It's been dunked in water, scratched and scuffed, covered in paint, cement, and chlorine, and it still works perfectly with no issues. The only part that's given me any trouble is the strap is starting to wear out so I might need to give that a replacement.
I replaced mine with original AE-1000W-3A strap. Looks better imo, is tougher and more comfortable
What a great coverage, your enthusiasm is catching! this video was a real eye opener, Thanks Ben!
My brother is in army , he needed rough and tough watch coz he have to do his duty in difficult areas which are wet ,no light in night and sometimes away from crowd for some days. So I gifted him Casio illuminator . And he is really happy because of practicality of watch in tough times. It's really great and economic watch
Been waiting for this video. Casio is by far my favorite brand.
I currently own the F91W, GWM5610, DW5600, AE1200 and the A168. It's enough for me.
How would the DW5600 look on a 6.50 wrist
Agree. I use it as my office watch.
Had an f91. It was incredibly difficult to destroy. Unbelievably fantastic timepiece. 2 thumbs up.
Your lighting is 🔥 🔥
Let's not forget about the legendary IR Remote Control Casios 📺 When we were kids changing channels, turning max volume or simply shutting down all stores and restaurants Tvs...

As always the most thoughtful , well researched & eloquent watch channel around , keep MAMACOO coming !
I have a feeling this is going to be a popular video over the next couple of years. Analogue Casio's are some of my favourites, because I never liked the digital very much.

Am i the only one who noticed LEMMINO'S cipher theme at 7:40? My man must be a fan :D
I've been using f91-w since 2019 , haven't taken it off my wrist ever since i bought it.
It stood the mud, water and shocks during my training.
I shower with it and it still works and it's only Water resistant !!!
I bought the A700 after seeing you video and i have been in love with it for the past 3 months, it's a plastic watch which doesn't lose its shine
I wish they made. A version with easier to press buttons
@@HomerIncognito I’m right there with you! I had to get used to it over time and now it’s almost second nature for me to navigate the button layout
Few months back I found F91 on Amazon … something I adored as my first watch ⌚️ in early seventies . I didn’t waste a second to buy my old love and now this is my favourite among half a dozen I have.
Got the well acclaimed Edifice model you went on about in one of your videos... Superb watch. Stunning in the light
Same here. I got the 41mm, love it.
Casio is what i would call, benevolent god.
u had me in the first half, not gonna lie
I got 12 years on my Citizen Chronograph with Solar
I had a casio with a 7 year battery life. No bullshit- 15 years later it was still working. Incredible.
Have started to enjoy each & every video of yours man! Keep them coming! Cheers! 🍺

This is a total professional video. Why haven’t I found this channel before? All hail Casio!!! I’ve been wearing them since the 80’s.
Is it durable to wear it everyday? Bcuz apparently the case is ion plated not stainless steel
@@Ayoub-y1w its fine, maybe just get a comfortable strap
I LOVE the AE-1200 I wear it frequently, so much so I have ordered a 2nd
I like that you used Cypher as the background music :)
That Casio Beside is absolutely beautiful. How have I never heard about that watch until now? Now I need one.
I laughed out loud at the sound effect on the Rolex price. Hahaha!

Keep telling myself I want to diversify my watch collection but my last three additions have all been Casio, just can't argue with the quality.
0:02 Intro ends.
f91 got me thru basic. love that thing
Absolutely correct on the discontinued model. When I first saw a review last week, I was ready to buy one.
You have to get in a Casio Oceanus! Just to see how good it gets
That name, though…. After Uranus, it’s the worst name ever.

Cheers!
Casio G-Shock GW 5610, Citizen NY0040, Seiko SNKL45, Orient Bambino
I wore an inexpensive digital A 700 everyday for years on very rough dirty construction jobs. I retired 4 years ago, and would never buy another A700 but I am still using the same amazing old watch I worked with! The batteries last forever too!
Brilliant. Love Casios great list.

I’ve bought an mtp 1370-D thanks to this video and I must say that it’s an absolute stunning timepiece! It lives up to the aesthetics.
Is it durable as an everyday Watch
@@Ayoub-y1wIt is! I kept it in my collection for a year before I gave it away to a friend of mine who wears it everyday, and it’s still working. The strap is quite durable (but that also depends on how you treat it).
It's amazing that the F-91, despite only costing a tenner, is so iconic that China actually makes fakes of them.
In places like south east asia 10 pounds is a lot of money. I think thats where most of the fakes are sold
In Indonesia F-91 is currently priced at ~Rp150k which roughly equals to 3 Big Mac meal or 10x common breakfast. Fake casio watches (branded/unbranded) starts from even $1-$2 range so there's always a market for them I guess 🤷
@@adisetyadi39 Then it sounds like either the dealers are selling at an obscene profit, or your food vendors are extremely cheap!
Communist China love to produce fake products because they were faked human😆
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of NKUWAN . Their timepieces are of exceptional quality.
Our 2 year old once found my f-91w in a drawer and did not want to give it back. Calls it his „beep beep watch“ and loves it more than most of his toys.
... i have bought a second f-91w and hide the rest of my collection a bit better now.
heheheee.. so cute
Casio hooking Kids. Since 1990s.
Even nowdays kids know how great the Casio watches
No casio list would be complete without one of the most legendary watch of all time! The Casio F-91W.

I'm saving your video to buy certain watches in the list
It helped me a lot
That MTS-110 looks really good!

6:15 Larger number on the market? well, not over the _CASIO AE-1500WH-1AVCF_ which nobody is talking about
I'm not too knowledgeable on watches, for sure but this video is a game changer for me. I don't need any not Casio watch because they have everything I'd want.
