    My LDL is through the roof but my HDL and Trigs are fine. I am keto/semi-carni and have never felt better in my life. Immune system great, illnesses and niggles all gone! Even if a doctor tells me it's knocking ten years off my expected 80 years I'd say 'fine', because I'd rather live 10 years less feeling great the whole time than 10 years more feeling like crap for the rest of my life.

      Under what circumstances do you think you should take statins? My new doctor wants to put me on statins because I have high blood pressure, diabetic and had a bypass in my leg. I believe the reason I had to have the bypass is because the doctors didn't tell me about K2 and the calcium went where it wanted to go, into my arteries. Even though I got my diabetes under control it is 90 and my blood pressure is 138/70 which isn't real bad. I started Dr. Berg's keto lifestyle/IF and I lost 15 lbs. I got 5 more lbs. to go and I am where I want to be. I would like to know under what conditions do you have to take Statins? Can someone please give me their opinion.

      @@bobbifarrell5919 Hi, good going on losing 15 lbs.
      There are YT videos with a David Diamond, Ph.d, researcher who, along with several other collegeauges who have published papers in the most respectabl journals -OPPOSING STATINS FOR LDL. Saying even people w/ hyperlipidemia live long heathly lives... Dr. Diamon has videos w/ Mercola too.
      - Satin's Statins were Originally for extreme cases and small population of: Middle-aged Males having primary heart attack, and to serve the pupose of secondary prevention.
      - The Weston-Price Foundation, whose founder Dentist Weston Price uncovered vit. K and the Matrix Gla Protein (MGP), is ABSOLUTELY AGAINST Statins in Any situation.
      - No one should take a toxin such as Statins that cut off the absorption of Coenzyme Q10 into your Mitochondria [ CELL DEATH] - Really? such a trade-off for not having sticky red blood cells!
      - Magnesium acts to assist with inordinate levels of LDL; as many, many other natural remedies, diet, lifestyle!!
      - Lastly - ABSOLUTELY CORRECT on K2 in keeping Calcium our of soft tissue and arteries. This all based on a 10-yr Study, The Rotterdam, EPIC and Combs studies.

    Nice video, and another thing i want to mention regarding heart disease, that cholesterol is not only the main factor, Homocysteine is also the major factor you should check and not just cholesterol. My doctor told me to do tests for cholesterol and homocysteine and my cholesterol was super good but my homocysteine was very high, and having high amount of homocysteine affects your inner lining of blood vessels which drastically increase the risk of atherosclerosis, narrowing of blood vessels which lead to heart attack or stroke, blood clots and also dimentia. So cholesterol should be the least thing you should be worried about, and you should be more worried about the thing that damage your blood vessels in first place.

    • @TSunshineful

      How do we improve our homocysteine level?

    • @ajinkyakamate421
      @ajinkyakamate421 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Higher level of homocysteine is caused by deficiency in vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid, my doctor had told me to eat lots of green vegetables and prescribed me with tablet for b6 b12 and folic acid. But if you do healthy keto this will not happen as you will get all you nutrients if you eat nutritious foods.

    Fascinating information. It deserves a repeat watch. This man could easily go into becoming a doctor. My obstetrician started his career as an engineer for Exxon until his son was born with spina bifida (many decades ago). He threw himself into researching everything he could about it to help his child. Through that process he became influenced regarding better birthing methods that would benefit the baby. His journey led him to medical school to become an OB/GYN. He championed in hospital water births and designed the birthing rooms for the hospital where he practiced. Because of my forward thinking bold doctor, my babies and I had amazing experiences, as birth should be! This man could do the same with these topics that he has researched! He has a refreshing understanding from his engineering approach.

      Doctors are subject to medical boards, state/federal regulators and ambulance chasing lawyers, and insurance companies. If they don't follow certain establish procedures/protocols they can lose license, not being reimbursed, be sued or even put in jail. They have invested time & money and have sacrificed so much to get where they are and going rouge (outside of the medical establishment) is not worth the risk. Yes, the education needs to be updated, however if you want to get action target your politicians and medical establishment and not vilify doctors. Anyone who profits from the advice or service they give you have to pause and research to see if they advice if for their bottom line or your benefit.

Are the cells in lungs thin and brittle instead of thick and supple or healthy preventing entry into system in first place? Oxidants should be avoided and antioxidants high priority.

    It is a shame that some medical professionals readily and easily labelled LDL as bad. How can something that is so important to the body be bad. It is necessary. We cannot live without it. This is not to say that LDL cannot be bad. Same line of reasoning applies to insulin and glucose. Both are important to us but they become bad when they are excessive. Anything you take in excess of what your body needs is bad.

    As others have stated:
    LDL is really the "good" cholesterol - it feeds all your cells with fuel and nutrients....
    it becomes the so-called "bad cholesterol" only after it repairs a cut in the artery, which attracts other immune cells and protective cells that build up a mound of plaque around this LDL...all this happens under the artery wall (endothelium layer)...
    -So, if you keep your arteries smooth by having a healthy diet including Vitamins C, D, E, Magnesium, Lysine, Proline, etc..- then there is no reason for LDL or Lp(a)
    to dig into the artery wall...
    *Therefore, you would not need to restrict your LDL coming out of the liver with a statin drug ( in which this restriction does nothing to address the root cause of plaque buildup under the artery wall) ** LDL is really needed to nourish all of the cells of the body, - so don't starve your cells with a statin - just keep your arteries smooth naturally.

    We've been spoon-fed lies for decades... there's much to unlearn, so much mis/disinformation to sift through. Thank you for opening discussion and shedding light on the correlation between increased cholesterol, atherosclerosis, heart disease, etc... is crucial to healing. Although I realize why LDL is referred to as "good cholesterol ", rather than a transporter... it is deceiving when understanding the true function of cholesterol as essential to the healing process.

Thankfully, the doctor who looked my results over saw how lean I was and how great all my other levels were that he did not see any problem with my health. I wonder how my cholesterol would have measured if I hadn't fasted for the blood test.

    After 4mo on Keto - I got my first blood test back and as expeditor me - LDL jumped up to 201, HDL up to 52 and TriG down to 62 (from 272)... my Dr lost it and said I needed to stop the diet and I have super high risk of heart disease.
    This video has been amazing along with some others to explain why high LDL isn’t all bad but feel like I’m fighting a battle against the entire medical community. Including my uncle who is a cardiologist... so I feel pretty confident and I know what improvements I’ve seen in my mind clarity, energy levels and consistency in energy... but the LDL numbers are tough to argue.

    I have a couple of questions;
    1. Can the calcium score be lowered?
    2. I have 2 stents fitted in the LDV (8 years ago) which I do not believe I needed as I had no symptoms at the time. Three years ago I dumped all medication and started taking high dose Vit.C (Linus Paulling). I then discovered Keto and stopped doing the Vit.C. I do not do blood tests as I do not see the point as I feel I am doing everything correctly. So the question - Should I be doing something different to the general population of Keto folk due to the stents?
    Perhaps you can do a video on this Dr. Berg???
