Great job with the videos lately man! I vote for a full fairing Honda inline 4! You know me 😅. Plus the HESD steering damper is awesome! 2nd option though, the Yamaha R7.
I do LOVE the newer CBR looks and its such a refined bike. I haven't experienced the steering damper though. See I was looking at the R7 but it would be gutless on the track. If it had just a little more oomph it would be more appealing. But it is hands down the best looking sporty bike
@@Tank_Taps I agree with you on the r7, if it was a 750 triple or something like that it would probably be more popular on the track. The steering damper on the Hondas started around 2007 I think. I'm not experienced enough to feel it at all but it changes the damping force according to your speed and apparently it's a very reliable and helpful system. I think all the new ones have it too.

I dig its new dash display. you are right, on track you want the 600RR or similar. the MT07 is very cool too but I think the suspension would let you down and thats pricy to address. wishing you a full and fast recovery! hey, how about the GSXR 750?

The 600s are super nice for the track but I also don't race so I'm kinda leaning towards trying something new 🤷 hmm I heard the same thing about the MT-07s. It's a shame. I feel like if it was $5k it would be a no brainer. They're just so inflated. So I would love to have a 750!! The weight of a 600 but more power sounds sick! There just aren't any available where I live. I considered shipping one here but at the price point I might as well get a brand new bike of any other kind haha. Unless you got one for sale? 🤔

what does your bike look like?? if it’s not to to bad then you could fix it up take it to the track and the get something different to cruise around with
I could absolutely rebuild it! The front end (headlights, exhaust headers, forks, radiator) is busted. It would take a while but the insurance will likely wanna total it. I am hoping that they reimburse me and allow me to buy it back for cheap so that I could fix it. I'd love to have it back up and running again
Gixxers 600 are great, bad part of buying a used one is most gixxer riders tend to be cheap on maintenance...but if you aiming for a BMW or a Ducati they are a in the mean time, if you want something to keep and try to grow into it a zx6r is great, the R9 is coming out this year, buying used is a checklist filling endeavor because I've seen lot of ppl getting ripped off so you might wanna check on recalls and do test drives (hopefully in a semi controlled environment like parking lot) not sure about naked bike tho i know they are more comfortable than super sports, but comfort and speed don't go along, i love KTMs tho superduke series are sick
So sorry to respond so late here. I think you're right. Most Gixxer owners are brutal to their machines. But it's a testament to Suzuki that they still run when they're six squids deep! I will most likely avoid Ducati due to maintenance and bmw for the same reason. There aren't many of those available where I live either for some reason. But we do have an Aprilia dealer and lately I've been eyeballing those. The R7 is super appealing but I feel like it will always be compared to the inline 4 and I would love it on the street but hate it on the track. But I think they're such cool looking bikes!! I'll give you a hint though, I'm REALLY looking at a naked bike 😎 might be in a future video

I know you're sorta stuck on a crotchrocket, but I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you about *the* best motorcycle I've ever swung a leg over in my 50yrs of riding (gah I am old). My Husqvarna 701 supermoto. It's the most fun I've had on 2 wheels since I was a kid. It re-ignited my passion for riding. No joke. It doesn't have the top speed you're used to, all the fun is just below 100mph. But, as far as the track, well, you saw me ride it there :D All I'm saying, is that if you get a chance to test ride a 701, a KTM 690, or a Gasgas 700, do it. I'd let you ride mine if you were closer!
Dude!! So there's a dealership near me that sells the 701 supermoto. They do look sick and I think a torquey bike is really appealing to me. I sat on it and it was really tall and I'm basically a leprechaun lol. Do you know anything about the vitpilen or svartpilens? They are a little shorter but is it a completely different thing? Honestly dirt bikes sound like a blast and it would be like learning a new riding style. You were ripping around that track man!!
@@Tank_Taps lol @ leprechaun! I've never ridden the vitpilen or the svartpilen, but they have the same engine as the 701. And from everything I've seen/read/heard over the years, I haven't really heard anything bad about them. As far as height, as long as you can tip toe, you'll be fine!

I've never ridden the vit or the svart, but it's the same engine, and I've never heard anything bad about them. What I like about the supermotos, is that they are the honey badger of street bikes - they just don't care. Pot holes, gravel, braking mid-corner, ride it like a sport bike or a dirt bike, they just let you do whatever you want. It's very... forgiving of any mistakes, unlike a sport bike. And, after you uncork these motors, they are deceptively fast. No, it won't beat an inline 4 in a drag race. But if there are corners in the drag race, it probably will. I've roll-on raced an MT07, an Aprilia RS660, and a Goldwing (haha) and the 701 took them all to school below 100mph. And anything faster, the 701 is right on their butts just waiting for that next corner.
