hey not sure if you have gotten one by now, but the sentro knitting machines are good for simple projects cause they're pretty easy to use. They can annoying because they are still pretty slow and infuriating as most of the stitch counters dont work so it can be tedious to count manually, and the wool can get stuck if you dont have the right tension, but definitely quicker than knitting by hand. They also only knit pretty loose stitches which is why I haven't made that much with it. But I would say for those knitted star tops and simple tube tops you wanted to make they would be good, although could be a bit see through because of the loose stitches.
