This is the first time in my life that Antiques Roadshow has tears flowing down my face while they are discussing what's on display. Never has this happened, I've always loved the show and been a fan but I want the gentleman to know his passion and respect for the artist got my heart and the dear woman that purchased it did as well. It may sound corny to anyone reading this, but love is truly what this world needs to overcome evil. Thank you Antiques Roadshow for filling my heart with love this morning for three people I have never met. Merry Christmas everyone-
There are not many videos on TH-cam, that make me cry, let alone on antiques roadshow, but I am crying like a baby. I will be going out and buying his book for sure.
This is a most remarkable segment and has led me to discover this amazing man and his devoted wife as well. Do yourself a favor and make a web search of his name as well as his wife. Thank you, as always, PBS. Love this particular program and so, so many others.
A privilege to witness these two genuinely nice, knowledgeable individuals discuss and introduce us to this painting by Winfred Rembert; will have to watch this video again and read his book; thank you Antiques Roadshow PBS-Winfred Rembert Moonshiners Painting, ca 2001 is a “Defining Best Moment”
that work is incredible to be done on leather. The expressiveness of the face of the gentleman in the middle, such a brightness to the art. I don't think I've ever heard of Leatherwork like this. So, very cool.
Dad came down into Arkansas to do some specialty pipline work. Whiile he was in rural Canada, it was a real shock to walk into segregation in the south. We traded with First nations, old school Mennonites (dressed in black all the time), and newly arriving displaced persons after BOTH wars. he had some real stories of "grape juice" and water on the job site.

alan katz is such a gem. i love his appraisals. such a knowledge and dedication to folk art.
A Very emotional appraisal. This was well done by both the appraiser and the lovely woman. Thanks for showing this all by itself.
The magic of Antiques Roadshow just keeps on giving and giving.
The grace and strength of African Americans will never cease to amaze me. ❤

One of the best clips ever in Antiques Roadshow
What a powerful story. I feel privileged to hear it.
Holy smokes. What a man and what a story

You Americans with your great history, the world is proud of you.
I like this appraiser.
Yes, Mr. Katz discusses the 'over-all' artist, love his personality and depth of feeling he has with all concerned.
Incredible.

What a sad, yet wonderful story.
Amazing story but so disturbing.
It's strange that Jim Crowe was so horribly racist him being part Indian.
😢❤🙏🏽
Ok, but this man was a criminal...
Fascinating! Beautiful piece.
Now she is thinking, "I should have bought several more of this man's works!"
Great video
