Man the estimates on some of those cards might be VERY LOW!. a few of those look to be very high grade especially the jackie robinson in the middle. If sent to PSA which i strongly suggest she does for grading a psa 6 of that card alone is worth $35,000+ each! the one in the middle looks even better then that! Most of these cards look to be in the 6-7 range and possible some 8s or 9s. If one of those Jackie cards comes back a 7 it is a $50,000+ card and an 8..... you are talking 6 figures just for one. Same with the babe ruth just graded a 54 these bring about $6,000+ and all of them look better then a 4 could have a 6 or 7 in there. His estimate was CRAZY LOW. I would buy them all from her for $165,000 right now. So if you are reading this comment and want to sell let me know.
I just left a comment saying the same thing buddy that's where all the money's at if the Robinsons came back in the PSA 5 there worth $137,000 each if the truth came back in a PSA 3 they're worth $5,000 each so she's looking at a couple hundred thousand dollars or more
A book by longtime collector Brian Kappel just came out proving these were printed in 1949. It just got written up in The Atlantic. Great read for anyone interested.
First off, I can't believe you put them with those things on the corners to hold them up instead of in a card saver. Second those. Jackie Robinsons just in grade 6 are worth $35,000 each. Grade 7s are worth $80,000 each. $150,000 for everything seems like a low estimate. I would definitely send them off to PSA.
They would probably need to remove each card from its protective sleeve to provide an estimate. This lady had no idea how valuable these cards are until they were appraised.
Before I begin my comment, let me just preface this and say that I recently sold a PSA 5 (midgrade) of the Jackie Robinson card shown here, for $34K within this year, and the ones she has are far better condition that mine was. In other words, the vaulation here is a ripoff- those Jackie cards alone, could fetch her the entire $150K. Now my comment- I know he made a reference to "just magnets" but good god, it is absolutely ridiculous that they displayed those cards BARE on a board with "magnets' like that! Put them in penny sleeves at the least! I'm not being melodramatic here, but I guarantee you that those cards got devalued by 10's of thousands of dollars via condition just by the way they are displayed here, and I shutter to think of the person handling them putting those cards up on that board. If you do not have penny sleevs, then you know what, tell the lady to wait, have someone run to the store (they sell them everywhere now walmart, target etc.." and spend $2 for 100 pennys sleeves) and get those cards in the sleeves to display. I am just stunned at how this was done, and what was done to the cards here. Now the extreme lowballing of the value here. Yes they are ungraded, but just by simply viewing the condition on my laptop, those cards are extremely high grade for that set, and I would GLADLY pay her $150K right now for them. I'm serious, if she reads this, message me! I will fly out to you and pay you in cash! In all honesty, all she has to do is reach out to any one of the many serious collectors out here and she will have a quarter million cash in her hand as is, and THAT is still low. I hope she seeks guidance from a true collector/investor and not these companies who seriously are always lowballing.
She needs to send them off to get graded that's where the true value of the card is she could get a lot more money the Robinson alone in the PSA 7 worth $137,000 each
Yeah I was thinking this guy is not even giving her all the information. I think even if she gave to Goldin to auction they would likely pay to get them graded and there could be over a million in cards there.
Antiques Roadshow, the gift that keeps on giving. May it never end.
Thanks Dad!!!
Absolutely wonderful
Good lord Dad left her a goldmine!
Dad as a teenager setting up his grandkids and didn't even know. Or he did and that's why he was so AR. Good job Dad!
Wow! Incredible
I agree- grade them, do not sell them to someone, they need to go to auction. Beautiful cards! I hope she keeps some to pass down to the family!
1:21 John Wagner looks like he’s fixing to do something in that photo.
❤ how wonderful for! Thanks Dad!
The fact that there’s just a big fat stack of high quality 1948 leaf cards on the table that didn’t even warrant discussion is insane

lovely
What a find!
Get them Graded! Asap

Wow!
Why are they being displayed that way?!?! They need to be graded immediately.
Very nice. What a pleasant surprise. For sale for sure.
I think those Jackie’s by themselves might be that much or more.
... Sounds like she just hit, a base's loaded home run, in the deciding game, of the world series 🏟 ⚾ 🗽 ...
Well done Dad! 👍🏻
Step #1....submit to PSA!
First off, I can't believe you put them with those things on the corners to hold them up instead of in a card saver.

Crazy how they chose to display them. It's wildly irresponsible.
The way those cards are being displayed is crazy. They could easily be damaged. Whoever made that display has no clue how to handle cards.
Get these graded....your easily over a million easily
If you get them graded they may be worth a lot more, some look over near mint that can boost the value a lot.?
I had personal contact with Simeon Lipman as I appeared on an episode of AR. When the camera was not on, he was an insufferable jerk.
Unbelievable.
I hope he gave her grading advise off camera. His estimates could be wildly off depending on grades.
These are worth more than 300k
And depending on the grade that could be an ex over to 300,000
Where are the sleeves and protection? Wtf!? Is the filmed in the dark ages?
did you expect them to randomly have 100 sleeves of some arbitrary size to fit cards from 100 years ago? lol
They would probably need to remove each card from its protective sleeve to provide an estimate. This lady had no idea how valuable these cards are until they were appraised.
As found.
Cringe! They should be protected, not spread out with magnets
This guy is clueless! 😂 wtf they’re worth a lot more than that

Display is so irresponsible. Hes not an expert. He's dangerous.
Sell them
wow. 20,000 big ones for a little piece of cardboard. wish my rellies has bought this stuff and held onto it
I hope Simeon Lipman is doing okay, he sounds like he has some kind of health problem like emphysema.. anybody know?
She needs to send them off to get graded that's where the true value of the card is she could get a lot more money the Robinson alone in the PSA 7 worth $137,000 each

@chuckbartowski6588 you got to understand this episode aired years ago like 5 or 6 years cuz I remember the episode
The dad did not know that value. He would have sold some
