- The summer is almost over and it’s starting to cool down in west Texas! Adding the elastomeric paint to the roof was a life saver this summer. #offgridliving #offgridlife #debtfreejourney #tinyhouse #homesteading
I'm # 185 sub,LOL, Rashad I did this in Flagstaff AZ in 2000, got the place-built paycheck to paycheck, it was HARD, COLD, HOT, STRUGGLE, FREEDOM, SOUL CLEANSER. focus on 4 things, 1500-gallon water tank buried, enough solar to run lights computer and small tools. wood stove!! Earthbag structure!!!!!! In the desert it's about extremes you need to stabilize your living ASAP, or she will spit you out. I'm about to do it again somewhere in northern AZ haven't found the spot. remember it's about comfort, kitchen, warm /cool house, not to big either. I'll be looking over your shoulder. Thanks
Wow, that was a big leap of faith to jump all in by purchasing so many acres. I'm thinking of purchasing 10 acres myself.
We walk by faith and not by sight! Trust me I had no idea what I was getting myself into, I just knew I didn’t want to keep paying rent for a place I’ll never own! I also knew I couldn’t qualify for a 30 year mortgage and at these high interest rates I’m glad I didn’t buy a house! I can build a house on my own land for half the price.
@@offthegridwithrashadOmg I purchased 10 acres in Hudspeth county last August haven't been out to see my land yet..do you have IG or fb I can reach out to you I have a few questions if you don't mind.?
Greetings from the LooseNatural farm in Andalusia Spain where we currently live through a drought and we are creating swales. Good that you enjoy it all. We are in month 18 of our journey
Hope you keep your beautiful doggie indoors, when you are not outside.
I actually keep him outside because he is 24 hour security when he’s not sleeping. He does great outside and we only have a 10x12 shed so not a lot of room for bigger pets indoors yet.
Don't let the coyotes get them
Love the videos, keep us posted!
Very cool! This helped be a lot. I own 40 acres in the area. Haven’t been yet! How is it in El Paso?
El Paso is one of the safest cities in America!
Appreciate the info bro next time I’m out at my property we definitely gotta try and link up I’m off Fm 1111 and Bushtrail.
Sounds like you’re closer to Sierra Blanca. I want to do a campout event one weekend and invite people out here to experience this and learn some survival skills but we can definitely link up sometime.
The Pondarosa Ranch is looking good, Hoss. How many bushels of corn to the acre do you expect?
I just planted a few seeds in a tire for the first test but the ants got to them first. Going small first to see what works!
I compare to like a rebirth, you are able to relearn life and how to apply it to this harsh environment. It gets easier and harder at the same time.
Best ofl uck in your new endeavors!!
Good Luck Rachad, You need to make a rain catchment System to retain and store water! You can get free Wood from irregular palets that are left outside many of business locations. You Best investment is your first storage tank, well GOD Bless and Good Luck!
I’m planning to do the same here in southern of CA , how do you get your electricity ?
I use a solar powered generator, the ecoflow delta 2 and a gas generator when needed.
What company did you get the land from? I'm in the market for something similar.. 10 to 20 acres. Thanks in advance and good luck
Sunsetranches.com
Thank you! May be a neighbor soon.
Does Amazon deliver out there? Do you get mail ?
@@OchuHoustonTexas I have a PO BOX in town where I can get some Amazon deliveries
My guy
Grow some trees and make some shade
Give you a little summer relief in 3-10 years
Do you think unit 456 is too far?
I have no idea honestly this ranch is so huge you could be closer to Sierra Blanca for all I know. I need to find the map they gave me.
Where do u pay your taxes? Because I live in California and want to have this property for investment and not to travel there. Do u pay taxes online? How does that work?
They include the taxes with your last bill of the year. It was only $275 for 87 acres.
They'll send you a tax bill in the mail
HOW , can we see your buildings when you're standing 300 feet away ?
You keep watching lol
Congratz, I just bought 10 acres in the county.
My first move i to put in a ton of swales, to slow down the water, so that it can soak into the soil!
Hey are you off Big Tank Rd??? I just bought land out there. I hwve questions
Perfect property to build a cold storage room in the mountain. Also great to build an earthship backed up to the mountain also.
Thanks for the Inspiration my Brother 💟 . . . . 🌎🌎🎩
Thank you for sharing it is beautiful there!
Best of Luck to You! Hope your winter is a safe and warm one!
Thank you! You too!
Your pot gardens looking good. Yall got this!
Greetings from SA! Would love to do what your doing...dig many pools to collect that rain water.
Good luck. You can do anything.
good for you glad you are loving off grid.
Absolutely correct! Backups essential. Did you previously own/rent in that area? How many gallons a week does it take for your commute. Awesome opportunity out there.
I was renting a townhouse outside of Austin before moving out here. My gas usage varies depending on how often I go to the city but I can go to the city and back on half a tank.
I have two questions how far off the main highway are you? and do you you require a four-wheel drive where you're at?
I’m about 45 minutes from the main highway and I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle but I don’t use the 4 wheel drive unless I need too. You can get some places without it depending on where your land is located but I wouldn’t recommend it.
The audio is kind of bassy on the right side than the left.
Yea I got one of those Bluetooth microphones coming soon much needed
FYI that wasn't summer, that was a heat wave. Next summer will be far more comfortable.
Yea it was brutal but not as bad as living in the city! I’m thinking with climate change this may be the norm but I hope not. It was cooler than San Antonio though!
