I’m sorry, I was going to reply with your last comment, but when I liked it I couldn’t respond. The irony is that I saw this video last night on TH-cam myself. I have a lot of these through out my many videos. I’ll be posting a video today, with tips as well, I might do a premiere where there will be live chat. Depends on how my day unfolds! Have a good one!
👋🏼! The closeup of the mixture flowing off the stick “did it” for me, Dwight. My question is whether the ratio of paint to Floetrol changes at all according to paint brand or viscosity?? New your beautiful, unique work!
Dwight, would you consider posting a video similar to this one for the lacing/minimalistic/infinity pours that you've been doing? I've went through four bottles of flow acrylic trying to replicate it and still no luck. If not, I totally understand and respect your decision, just thought I would ask. Thanks for sharing your art with us.
Thank you for your clear mixing demonstration ☺️🙏🏽 I do have floetrol but no luquitex and cannot buy it because it is not essential. Holland is in lockdown starting in an hour until 17 January ‘20. I am so lucky to watch you and learn at the same time😄 and the Amsterdam acryl 48 acryl kit is in the house😎
Floetrol is an extender and liquitex is a binder...some use it sine don’t...if you experiment with your paints...how thin or thick, I think you’ll be surprised!
Gorgeous colours. I was just going to buy some extreme sheen. Not now if I have to use it all at once. No, I only add one teaspoon to my pouring medium. ❤️
@@dwightpours1261, thank you. It is the bloom recipe I only use one teaspoon of colour. I have been doing a lot of them. I want to paint an idea in my head. It has clouds, not pearls. Gathering what I need in Australia is not fun but I am determined. I will find a replacement that works. ❤️
Is the basecoat the same consistency? And have you ever worked with house paint? I wonder if it would make the same results I will be testing it next weekend. All info appreciated.🙏
Hello Dear Dwight ! Just want to say a big thanks from Montreal, Quebec Canada !! Love your art! You are so talented! Hope I could get great results as yours some day ! Happy and healthy year !!
Hi Dwight. I've decided to try out some new techniques and I love your work so I wanted to try to do one of your pours. 🙂 I noticed that this video is from 2020. Do you still mix your paints the same way? I'm so excited to try this!
Thank you for sharing this information for everyone. Your art has inspired me to keep trying and this video will help tremendously as paint consistencies seemed to be my problem. Excited to give it a go tomorrow! Thanks Dwight!
Are the condiment cups that you used for the Floetrol 2 oz? So your recipe is 2 oz craft paint to 4 oz Floetrol + water & PM? And what is the recipe for the large cup of white?
My basic formula is the same…1 part paint, 2-3 parts floetrol, drizzle of liquitex pouring medium and water to thin. Since I don’t measure precisely I use cups based on the size of the canvas. I use a chart that helps me know how much to put on the canvas. But I buy 4 ounce, 8, 16 or 24 ounces depending on how much I need…my colors are typically in the 4 or 8 ounce cups
Hello Dwight. Your dump and swirl is very interesting. On the dump paint are you adding flotroel and water and If so what is the ratio. Is it the same for the black . I can't decide if I like the black or white best. I'm intrigued to try this method. Thanks
Thank you! The ratio I typically use is one part paint to two parts floetrol with a drizzle of liquitex pouring medium. The black I don’t measure as much, I usually eyeball it!
Thankyou so much for your training I have bipolar disorder and need a focus I apsolutely love acrylic pouring and pour nearly every day. I would love to try this method but the white base paint is over £44 plus nearly 14 pounds delivery. Is there anything else I can use please 😊
Thank you but you did not show us the last consistency after you added two seringue of water. I would have liked to see it. I am getting there but not quite. Thank you for teaching us.
Beautiful and exciting to view your videos. The pours are so intriguing. I have to ask, I apologize for not finding the answer, I’m sure you have told us and I have missed it. What is it that you paint the rim of the canvas surface with? Today’s video is from a year ago, “Double pebble dump and swirl with Metallics!” and I was looking for the “how I prepare my mixtures,” type of video, and this one followed as the pour with the paint you demonstrated how to mix. I have viewed other videos, and the pattern is similar, where you take the brush and go around the edges and the surface, leaving the middle just bare canvas. I’m asking about the paint used on the canvas prior to pouring. What are you painting on with the brush? Again, I’m sure you have shared, yet I have missed it. Thank You in advance. Be safe and take care
Good morning...all paints are mixed the same way. In my older videos I think I used floetrol in the paints....so basically 1 part paint, 2 parts floetrol and a drizzle of liquitex pouring medium and water....more recent videos I’ve left out the floetrol....
Hi Dwight.. thanks for your videos .!!! all gorgeous pieces. :) just a quick question,... Do you use the same paint and same consistency for both the canvas cover base you apply with a brush (Artist Loft Flow acrylic), and the damp white, for the top of pillow? thank you so much! and congratulation your are getting beautiful results.
@@dwightpours1261 thanks for taking the time to reply! For something that appears so simple theres actually much to learn! I definitely appreciate your channel and your work!
A question from a newbee: how does one calculate how many mls of mixed colours one needs for a certain canvas size? And watching all the pouring Artists videos i cant help wondering: is it necessaire to waste sooo much 😮😱overflowing paint? Watching that I actually want to hold a cup under the canvas to catch it all 😂🤫 but nobody does it so it must be a stupid idea 🤭😔☹️ stupid me🙄
I have a chart of how much to use for each canvas sizes I always mix a little more...I can’t seem to put it in here, go to my community page on here and I’ll post it there!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talent! Truly appreciate your patience and showing us your consistency!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Dwight. We’ll mix up some paints tomorrow morning and pour in the afternoon.

Thank you , so fun you are a good teacher! I really appreciate your info.
Thanks so very much for sharing
Thank you for this. I can't wait to try this!!!
Thank you so much for showing how you mix your paint. Are you going to show how to mix the paint you dump?
I did in yesterdays pour
I mix them the same way…just using more paint as it’s a bigger cup
Thank you 👍
Thank you

Is the dump color mixed the same? Equal parts paint and floetrol plus the small amount of liquitex and water to thin?
How I mix is usually just a guide…1 part paint, 2-3 parts floetrol, drizzle of liquitex pouring medium and water.
Awesome 👍 Thank you!
For your Dump paint.... Do you also do 1:1 with Artist Loft black/white & Floetrol with drizzle Liquitex and water to thin?
1:1 or 1:2

I just put artists loft acrylic white or black on the edges to make sure the tilted paints will adhere.
@@dwightpours1261 thank you so much. I am ready to give it a try, you ate an inspiration.
If I can help let me know!
Could I use satin paint pale yellow color? It's what they had cheap on the oops shelf. Is it possible to use glue/water as a medium?
Since there is no more flow white, do you use soft white?
Yes it’s virtually the same
Excellent
❤️❤️❤️

Just ordered the colours but where is the video to use these paints please.
Part two
I cannot find part two?
It’s the video right after this one
I’m sorry there is one called Dump and Swirl Painting prep tutorial...maybe that will help
Unclear about white
Floetrol or not
What do you mean?
@@dwightpours1261 what do mix in white paint
Isn't floetrol a pouring medium on its own ?
No...floetrol is actually a conditioner....liquitex pouring medium etc, are binders which allows you to dilute the paints with minimal pigment loss.
