The 2020 and newer artist left paint is not the same as when I used it in this recipe. Here is an updated video I would recommend! th-cam.com/video/umBApA5JFCU/w-d-xo.html
I'd say this is why keeping notes on the paints, batch #s, and such is so important. Art is an experimental process and if you don't have notes you can't really make much progress. Thanks so much for this. It's so helpful and I really love it!
This video is so helpful. Seeing you mix and explain each ingredients purpose is just what I’ve been needing. I’ve been “playing” with fluid art for around 5 years. Now I want to play harder!! I can’t think of anything else I would rather spend retirement doing.
Hi Sara, Thank you for your teaching videos. I started studying Fluid art via youtube and glad I found you. I have found other great teachers and artists like you as well. What I like about your style is you take a pour and make it your own with your palette knife. It appears a lot of people rely on luck to create a nice painting where you add your vision and creativity to personalize your art. By demonstrating it in your videos it shows the viewer how they can personalize their own work rather than rely on luck. I have seen some people scrape paintings that they don't like but when someone can tweak it and make it something they are pleased with that is a talent. Wishing you continued success.
Sara you are so talented and generous with your knowledge. I feel like I have a better understanding of each ingredient and the final consistency. Much appreciated ❤
Again this is so important info if someone wants to try the pouring technique , so one needs to give a lot of attention to mixing the different colours etc. thank you so much Sara 🌺
Thank you for being so generous in sharing your incredible knowledge. You are my favorite fluid artist, and I follow many. Some don't necessarily like to share their secrets, but you do. Thank you
I totally understand, it was hard to let go of some of my secrets, however, if I’m going to teach people how to manipulate paint, I need to tell them what I’m actually doing. My hope is that anybody who wants too play with these recipes and create their own beautiful style.🙏❤️
Saved this video for watching later and just getting back to it!Very informative. Thanks for sharing. PS. Sandpoint is one the the most beautiful locations I’ve visited!
Thank you, Sara, this was/is a great tutorial. You did a wonderful job explaining how you mix your paints. I don’t know much about color theory, pigments, etc., and am always grateful when someone takes the time to explain “the reasons why.” Be well. ❤️
Love that u dont waste what comes off ur painting! I think you have an amazing talent for color and composition,(u kno just how many little changes u can get away w without overdoing it..) beautiful! Thanks!
Thank you so much for the mixing video. I am so sorry a painting was lost in the mail. Can't wait to see your next painting video - always love watching you create and you have such beautiful and relaxing music.
Bonjour , merci pour ces explications ! Tout est dans la préparation , la passion , faire corps avec la matière , les produits . Je suis passionné par ce que vous faites . Cordialement.
Thank-you Sara, you are amazing and very generous for sharing your knowledge. I hope people understand it's almost impossible to get the same results even if getting the exact same ingredients. I'm still heating here, temp is dry, so I may need to add more waters, while being mindful to not water down too much. And even my own same recipe would have different results from one season to another. Anyhow, thatnk you for all you do, and yes, you are an amazing teacher.
Thank you Giovanna, I completely agree! I’ve tried other artist methods and gotten much different results, a chalk it up to the fact that we all have different hands and different souls :-)
This video of mixing your paints was super helpful!!! Even about the cleaning process of not putting a acrylics down the sink drain!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! I love ❤️ your artistic work/play mixing and pouring!!! I Also love, love your silver ring!!!!!!😁😁🤗💯🥰😍
Oh, geez, I really love listening to you and your quiet, reassuring voice. You ARE teacher of the Covid year for me. Thank you for showing us your basics and your mixing process. So interesting your transition from half pigment color & half floetrol. Because so much floetrol changes the color pigment and I’ve been confused about that. You’re very generous, thank you, dear girl.
I’ve been doing acrylic pour for 3 years and stuffing your work and others trying to ‘get the the mixes right’ w/very little success...this was GREAT...And I’ve relaxed a bit and have regained some confidence...thanks so much....
Thanks so much Sara! This was so informative and I liked watching how you get your paint consistency without doing all the measuring. Measuring takes all the fun out of the process for me. If possible would love to see how you make the cloud over mixes too? Thanks bunches for this!
Awesome Deborah, yeah it’s a little bit more tedious to keep it out of the drain, and I don’t keep all of it out of the drain… But as much as possible!
Thanks for the video Sara. I love watching you paint. Your eye for color and composition is amazing. I will just be happy to try this technique to see what I am capable of.
Thank you Sara, for this video, very informative 👍🤗, thanks to Cathleen for introducing you to us, there are few artists who like similar style of work, and that attracts us to each other . Thank you for posting, 🌺
👋 Sara. Karen from New Zealand here. Great post today. I find mixing my paints calms my brain so can intuitively create something on canvas. Also find different paints different consistency, temp of weather as I paint in my garage. I agree once you feel the right consistency you’ll get it. Some of my art become multi media as bugs love the smell of paint in NZ 🤣. Thank you for inspiring us.
Thank you so much Sara for the very informative tutorial so well explained. It's greatly appreciated. It was very helpful. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge & talent.
I also would love to see how you mix your cloud over mix. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial on how you mix your paints. I truly love it and am looking forward to trying it once my paints and mediums get here. I am having a hard time getting the DecoArt enamel. I thank you for sharing. Look forward to watching your other videos.
Sara, thank you for this video. Could you talk a bit about how you decide your shapes and compositions some day? I would love to hear your mind’s process a bit. I love your videos and find your work inspiring. Thank you for your time. 😊
I had also asked Sara what goes through her mind as she does her pours, adds color etc. So Sara, I'd love to see the slowed down version of what's going through your beautiful mind as you make these exquisite paintings!!!!🤗🤗🤗 I'm humbly awaiting that video!!! Please, please, please!!!!!😁😁😁
Awesome video Sara, thank you for sharing I've been very confused regarding this technique. Being retired, I'm looking for a art project. Would you recommend a video after your mixing a follow up to complete This process. Please. By the way you Are a great instructor.
I'm watching your mixing video again! I find everyone's recipes/mixing philosophy so interesting. I'm so glad you watched MelyD's older videos. She was doing these puddle pours way back in 2017 but is rarely credited. As I recall, she just uses paint and water and figured out the secret to satin enamel pretty early on. I have a love hate relationship with floetrol! and get hugely varying results, erg
If you watched my videos, I actually follow her very closely and did many puddle pours with no floetrol. I do still use it, but sparingly. I like some things about floetrol, it’s a paint conditioner and I feel it plays a role in fluid art. I have done painting without it, when I first starting puddle pours.👍✌️
Thank you so much for doing this video. I'm in complete awe watching you paint, it all comes out so fantastically! I don't know what the cloud over paint is for, but I can't wait for the video where you explain about making that one too.
I’m glad I stumbled back across this video. Lately I haven’t been completely happy with my results and I think it’s because I have become kinda lazy in my paint mixing, meaning I have forgotten the importance of the gac 800 and Liquitex pouring medium is. Your vision is amazing and an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!💕
It does my color-mixing heart good to see you having to go back and forth when trying to get that Perfect Plum color you see in your mind’s eye! I struggle with purples/violets, which I love so much, but for some reason, they are so hard to match to what I see in my mind!
Thank you for sharing your mixing formulations with us. I have not used GAC 800 up until now but I will definitely be getting some! Had a few issues with crazing and I think it might be because I'm missing that one ingredient. So thanks again and your art is just super inspiring and has re-invigorated me creatively. Thank you, bless you! Love your videos!!!!!
I also have actually been saving glass jars for year's!! I have a bunch for sure!!! I always figure I can use them for something!! Now I know what that something is!!!!!!!😁😁
Thanks Sara very helpful indeed and waiting in anticipation for the cloud over tutorial please. LOVE your work and so sad that that painting went missing??👏💜🌈
I know you have written the recipe for all the paint mixing that you you use and explained them also but this has been so helpful for me!! I'm so greatful for this video...I want to do a few "Sara Style"pours ! I love all of your beautiful paintings💖
Thank you Sara! I use the color pouring medium gloss by golden and it's the same as GAC800, also Heather Mader Art has also a video where she mentioned this, she has the information from Golden. So instead of the Liquitex PM together with the Gac800 i use the color pouring medium gloss from Golden. And it works great :)
Great video Sara! So helpful to see how you mix. I still use a scale for this technique base coat so it was nice to hear that it’s a forgiving formula. I have been using the Behr satin enamel lately too and I don’t know if you have found this but I feel like it doesn’t eat up the paint as much as DecoArt...anyway, thank you...and Cathleen’s video featuring you was great! What a sweet lady. ❤️
Hey Tara! Love what you’ve been doing! I agree, the decoart can be a little overwhelming, and it breaks of it. I agree, Cathleen is kind, I was really wonderful of her.😊🙏
You are absolutely awesome. I don't know if I will ever get it right, but I plan on being in Idaho the first part of December would like to sign up for a class. I have a friend that lives in Sand Point!

i always think my paints are thin enough - until I know they are not!!! So that you for this video, try, try, try again. Cheers Sara, love your art.
Sara you are so talented and generous with your knowledge. I feel like I have a better understanding of each ingredient and the final consistency. Much appreciated ❤
Hi Julie
Thank you, Sara! This was incredibly helpful. I love that you mentioned not being wasteful and the proper way to dispose of paints. Love it!
I had no idea I had to take the paint to the dump. Thank you.
Is the satin enamel oil or water
Thank you 💗 I love all the artists on here in u tube land. But you are # 1 love your style. You make it look so easy
That’s awesome! Thank you so much! 🥰
Sara, you are the best artist/tutor and you are so kind to share your knowledge. Thank you so much! I learn so much from your tutorials.
Wow, thank you!
Thanks Sara! As a beginner I want to choose one recipe to stick to to experiment. I love your work so I chose your recipe! Wish me luck!🙏💕✌🏻
Good luck! Remember not to take it too seriously and it’s a practice that could take a lifetime. I hope you love it!
You are such an inspiration in the way you approche your art. Thank you for taking the time to share all this info ! 🙂

I am about to do one of your paintings, which I think you added your cloud pour paint on the top with you stir stick. Really like to watch you ❤️💕💕
Go for it!
Love the humor but you are an amazing and generous teacher - Thank you!
Thank you! 😃
Such a great video, Sarah, super teaching and really helpful: thank you 😃🙌

Hello 👋
Hi Sara. I commented earlier. What I really meant to say is i love your paintings and I love your spirit of generosity.
Sara, thanks so much for the tutorial. Looking forward to the cloud over video.
Hi Cindy
I bought a small spray bottle for water and it works great for adding a little water.
Thank you. I enjoyed your demo. It was very relaxing also with great music.
Thank you for such detail information. Being a new to acrylic pouring, beginning with the puddle pour explanation, is so critical.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Sara, this was/is a great tutorial. You did a wonderful job explaining how you mix your paints. I don’t know much about color theory, pigments, etc., and am always grateful when someone takes the time to explain “the reasons why.” Be well. ❤️

I would love to! I’ll probably slow down a video and walk through my composition and color theory in coming videos, thank you for your support.🙏

What is gac800?
Love the way you teach, I a retired chef and yes eye works well 😂
Oh thank you!
Thanks for doing this! I have started recycling my glass jars and using to mix paints after watching you!
Me too Phyllis. All my pickle, salsa and jam jars are seeing a 2nd life in my studio 😀👍
That’s so wonderful! I love acrylics Fluid Art, but there’s way too much plastic involved.🙏✨
I also have actually been saving glass jars for year's!! I have a bunch for sure!!! I always figure I can use them for something!! Now I know what that something is!!!!!!!😁😁
Hello how are you
Beautiful color dear little lady 🎇🎇
Thanks a lot Sara, very helpful video I love it...
Sara this was an awesome class. I learned so much in this 22 minutes. Thank you soooo much. You are amazing. Xo
Thank you Janice!🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing that info and demonstration. SO helpful!
Hi Judy
Thanks Sara very helpful indeed and waiting in anticipation for the cloud over tutorial please. LOVE your work and so sad that that painting went missing??👏💜🌈
It was found a few days after I filmed this! Delivered to its new owner :-)
Oh I am so glad!
Thank you for sharing. I’m having issues with this technique so I hope this will help.
Thank you so much Sara for doing this video, you have answered so many of my questions.
I’m so glad! I really like doing more calming inspirational take videos, I figured this might be helpful for the technique.👍✨
Hello Linda
This was so educational. Thanking you xxx
Thank you so much for sharing Sara!! Love watching your videos, learning from you and your beautiful art. And btw beautiful voice 💓
Thank you,I’m going try your recipe.can’t wait for your next cloud recipe.
Love, love, love your work. I'd really like to know if the GAC 800 is required. Also, is there a replacement for it?
Check the ingredients. I read on here somewhere that GAC 800 has a PVA base. You could try making a pouring medium with Glue All and try that
Golden Colour Pouring Medium is the same as GAC 800.
@@robertawills7219 thanks
Thank you Sara for taking the time for the amazing tutorial!! So helpful !! You are just brilliant ! ❤️
Thank you so much Cathy!
Thank you Sara for sharing your expertise. It's very helpful and appreciated. Stay safe and well my friend. 💖💖💖
Hi how are you doing
I know you have written the recipe for all the paint mixing that you you use and explained them also but this has been so helpful for me!!
I'm so greatful for this video...I want to do a few "Sara Style"pours !
I love all of your beautiful paintings💖
Hello Marilyn
Thank you Sara This was certainly helpful
Thank you Sara! I use the color pouring medium gloss by golden and it's the same as GAC800, also Heather Mader Art has also a video where she mentioned this, she has the information from Golden. So instead of the Liquitex PM together with the Gac800 i use the color pouring medium gloss from Golden. And it works great :)
Just started following you and love your work! I live in Rathdrum Idaho!
I agree, Cathleen is kind, I was really wonderful of her.😊🙏
Really, really helpful advice - thank you so much for taking the time to share all this information. All the very best to you from Australia ;)
It was my pleasure Julie, thank you!
Thanks for sharing. I love your work
good job and your videos are appreciated
I love your work Sarah! I was wondering if you would do a video on how you mix your cloud paints? Please?
Hi Sara. Thank you for the video! Very helpful.
I am wondering why the GAC 800 is added to you base paint but not added to your colors
Awesome info! Very helpful
This is so informative....thank you so much!! One to save. Thank you, Sarah!
Hi Kathy
You are absolutely awesome. I don't know if I will ever get it right, but I plan on being in Idaho the first part of December would like to sign up for a class. I have a friend that lives in Sand Point!
Oh cool! Let me know maybe we can workshop.
Outstanding video and so helpful - thank you!
Hello how are you doing my friend
Thank you Sara for sharing this video, it’s very helpful. I love your art. 🌹❤️
Hello 👋
