    while these are confusing from a current gundam fan perspective let me offer another: I have a friend who doesn't watch anime, doesn't really delve heavily into model kits, but LOVES painting and customizing miniatures. He's already bought one of these and is looking to get the full set. So I think if we're confused about the purpose that just means we might not be the target audience.

      It does make sense these would be really appealing to people familiar with painting miniatures. With these shipping out in the states now, I've seen a lot of English-speaking fans do amazing paint jobs with these

    Super late comment!
    Finally got my preorder of these in, got two built so far and agree with EVERYTHING you said here. So glad I didn't get the 'special' color. Really enjoy painting these, and can't wait to try out some awesome colors for concepts of the larger scales.

      I've been seeing a lot of people posting these online too like on Twitter so I bet Bandai finally got more of these sent out beyond Japan. These little guys are way tougher to build than they seem:)

    I ended up with the Hi-Nu clear red variant and felt like I had been cheated. I expected to get the tan version, not knowing that the red was rare. I'm glad mine went together well, if tedious, because it was my first gunpla. I did a HG model next and really enjoyed it

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having these as your first kit is quite a trial by fire. Glad you made it through okay since these can be a pain in the butt to put together. The HG wouldn't have been a challenge after this

    Who's the credited artist for these redesigns?
    I really really love the Nightingale one, the more compact backpack, and the raptorial legs making it look more menacing, almost wish the HG kit had that style.

    • @Kyore000
      @Kyore000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly what I was thinking! These caught my eye in particular because the Nightingale isn't the weird, elongated, stretchy mess it usually is, but rather a fiercer, almost virus-looking Sazabi, which is what I always wished it was!

  • @user-lynKx
    @user-lynKx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These actually look really cool. I'm planning on just gluing mine, putting some grey primer, panel lining, and possibly coating it (don't want too many layers). They'll just stay on my desk all uniform in grey

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even though they technically don't need glue, in practice they really need it a lot. The grey would really bring out the small details when light hits it, so it should look wonderful

  • @Kirokaze

    hopefully being sold out means they will give us new set, maybe even bigger MS

    • @HobbyClubhouse

      From the crazy high demand, I do think they'll continue the series. I kinda want marine MSes like a Z'Gok or Hygogg.

    Edit: i found out using glue or plastic cement helps certain parts of the mini gundam become more stable

      If you mean from this line specifically, then the Rick Dias or Hi Nu Gundam are the least janky. If it's models in general, then the the HG Nu Gundam comes out of the box really beautiful with a lot of stuff, even if the kit came out a while ago

    As a miniature painter and miniature builder half the complaints seem laughable. Glue it up, prime it, and get to painting. Then base it. I feel from your review this product isn't meant for you.
