    I've been prescribed Adderall for about 20 years and I've come to the conclusion that sober is the way to go. I take it maybe once every few months now and when I took it regularly, I needed Xanax to sleep at night. Nick is spot on. The negatives heavily outweigh the positives as Adderall is both bad on your heart and cardiovascular system. Fit and healthy is much better than strung out and weak. Coffee is my go to for energy but even that should be consumed in moderation. Good stuff guys, love the videos!

    Adderrall is great in the beginning. Then in it turns you into dust like most drugs.

    Good for him to warn people about the likely downsides to stimulant use. Adderall is talked about much more casually now that many years have passed where it's well-recognized that pre-law and pre-med students use them to compete for scholarships, internships, and school placements. It's predictable that there would be a lot of temptation for poker grinders to drift into a lifestyle of frequent stimulant use.

    Great clip JJ! Took heaps of adderall during law school. Was tough coming off later in life. Also realize it doesn’t matter at all if a doctor gives it to you. Has the same bad effects in your regardless how you get it. Also it does not make you smarter it just makes you feel better about being there. In fact I think it makes you less creative

    This may sound weird, but I don't enjoy playing games that are super action. I'd rather win less and just play in a game that is just slightly above average action and go to bed at a reasonable time
    I guess I'm saying that I like poker to be relaxing. I don't care to stay up all night winning double my hourly. Does any of this make sense?

    Adderall is amazing. But it's not good for taking every day. It makes you feel dependent if you do so.
    However, it is the best when you want to hyper focus on something and you need to stay awake.
    Not proud to admit it but it was a lifesaver when driving for Uber/Lyft during the night shift. It kept me from dozing off while driving and got me in a good mood. So it was a win win.
    The only downside was that if you take too much, a big dose, it would be hard to fall asleep. Though your body does get used to it. It still wasnt fun feeling dependent to it.

    Adderall is definitely awful for you and I would advise against even trying it. Modafinil would have been your best bet in this case as its non-habit forming and the mechanism of action is different from the other popularly prescribed CNS stimulants (ie its not meth).

    • @Womenandwine
      @Womenandwine 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He was on methamphetamine. A much much stronger form of amphetamines. Also Much more addictive It’s basically the same chemical structure as amphetamines but it has one extra ( I believe nitrogen molecule attached , don’t quote me on it though ) but that extra chemical attachment makes it so it goes thru the blood brain barrier pretty much I instantly instead of seeping in like regular amphetamines. That instant breaking of the blood brain barrier leads to all the dopamine being hit at once and much more of it. Which inevitably burns out your receptors and is toxic at high levels.
