      Yeah the part about brewer running good having a backer. That's one thing that's crucial to play big - I've beat 5 10 10 20 and 25 50 for several years in Vegas and never been able to obtain a backer for tournaments played 25000+ Mtts post black friday but without a backer I don't play a full schedule , which is needed to overcome variance in mtts. @gtolab @joeingram1

    Thank you thank you, this is awesome, Nick is one of the most thoughtful and articulate guys who are playing at the highest levels of the game. And something that sets him apart from a lot of the other top players as far as the rest of us are concerned is that he is such a fantastic teacher of reasonably high level poker concepts. I call him the Poker Professor ♦️♠️

    JJ and Dan, the average rec players don't have access to you or can afford your coaching. My suggestion is that for GTO lab to create a membership that is affordable to your average rec and offer group coaching under the membership model. Thanks for all that you do!

    Good stuff guys! Crazy how the high roller fields have changed in just a few years. I wonder how much card up livestreams contributed to that.

    I think the player I admire the most is Chris Brewer because I saw how many bad beats he took and still kept going. Also he got his start playing at my home casino.

    This may be a noob comment, but why was there no discussion about his KJ river call? Is it that obv a call? He has one pair bad kicker on straighty board. Not even a thought of a fold? I see that Nick thinks it is a bad bluff holding 66, but a little discussion on why it was an EZ call for KJ would have been helpful.

    • @tannerandreae3080
      @tannerandreae3080 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First, K isn't a bad kicker. Even though it's a "straighty" board, the only straight combo that's flatting LJ pre would be KQ, so it's a tiny part of his range, and sets would likely want to be getting more money in on earlier streets (specifically turn) with such a high SPR. Kj is still a really strong hand on this node

    At 45:41 , Nick says "hands that are now indifferent between F & R vs b25"
    At 45:52 , Nick says "indifferent between C & R" vs b25
    It's the latter what he meant to say at the former, right?

    Of course he is a great player, but i found his courses for mtts really unnecesary complicated, he mostly only uses 100bb sims and he speaks alottt about nuances and some strategical concepts that are not the most important thing to learn and i think he could simplify and makes strategies on these courses that are more effective and simple to apply and learn and start having a edge on the fields. Maybe already very kwnoledge players will take advantaje of his method of thinking and analizing, of course the value his here, on another hand i watched patrick leonard courses and are the exact opposite, alot of short stack theory and strategy and easy to implement concepts and tactics. Maybe it also helps that listening to this guy, at least in my case, not gives motivation or possitive energy, like if young aspiring players will listen to this guy will want to quit poker instead of persuing it, maybe for his phrases like "you need 100% a backer to play poker", i dont know if this is true and all high stakes mtt pros need one, maybe some pros dont depend on backers at all and have a very succesfull carrer, or maybe it is true but only if you want to play live and the most highstakes mtts, like persuing money and fame and recognition plus playing live (low volume) plus higher stakes avaible, MAYBE you will 100% need a backer but this is not the case for high stakes mtt online pros.
