I could listen to Jonathan and Ike talk about hands all day every day. I play poker 30 or hours a week and these guys still have forgotten more than I’ll ever know.
From a broader externally-oriented strategic perspective, there is a hidden cost to showing high levels of frustration after a river thin value bet gets shoved over. The opponent knows that they’ve successfully pushed a button on you and triggered an emotional reaction. You know that they know. Everyone else at the table sees it. There can be subtle carryover effects that happen as a result. It might not be easily quantifiable, but non-reactivity matters beyond just the immediate circumstance. If you appear nonchalant in obviously stressful situations, other people are going to react to you differently on a preconscious level.
So why is this a good line? Basically immediately polarizing and bombs away. Solver btw likes the small stab on flop and the river is a xbacl with J ack

Ike is so incredibly likeable. Such a smart and level-headed guy.

Two of the best and most likeable players in poker--great episode!

Listening to Ike talk poker will humble most poker players who think they have any idea what they are doing or thinking
Jonathan's way of tying in the COVID vaccine with poker was both brilliant and well executed 👏 Good stuff guys!

Thank you 🙏
I think most of the times we want to bluff a hand that seems too 'high up' to bluff it's a good idea and we should trust our instincts 31:00
Wow! Thank you for this both of you!
Thanks Eric 🙏
I don't understand the thing at the end, why is AKcc the best suit to call down?
A4cc is one of the few logical choices for Ike's value on this line, so Nick having the Ac blocks that combo

Amazing content. 2 brilliant minds talking poker is like my heroin
Thanks Dean!
i dont think he can justify this in any way other than wanting to take chips away from 2nd place. It worked but most times it wont.
I don't want to be as smart as Ike Haxton one day, because I'm realistic
Is there a line where people wants to be Ike?
