2:06:00 I hate to say this but this K2 double barrel isn’t common on all boards. You change the board from Q72 9 to Q82 9 and lot of these Kx/ Ax might disappear. I think it’s important to understand why these show up and what are they trying to achieve. Also, these do not really work if you misapply the sizing. Dan when 80% pot. Maybe cause of ICM but it’s less effective at that bet size. But more importantly it’s highly dependent on what the response is. BB is expected to fold KQ/AQ to a large cbet. If that isn’t happening your K2 is -EV. Also if you bungle river you are even more fucked it’s your K2. Playing with pattern recognition and playing with the understanding of “why” are 2 different levels of poker. The second one is called “ on the fly solver”
1:09:17 this is highly sus. Threshold for thin value bet for IP is higher when it’s closing the action on the river. It’s way way higher under ICM. Reopening the action and then getting jammed on is a disaster. It’s enough to destroy your win rate
1:00:13 a good rule of thumb for raising IP is assessing gap between your current equity and the EQR of your hand. If there is a big gap, there is an incentive to increase your betting volume with that hand. And if you have a ton of such hands, it starts to dictate your overall strategy. On this spot a hands like AQ/KQ/ AA/KK aren’t that vulnerable that they need to jam on the turn. And this is your asymmetrical region vs BB. It’s your asymmetrical range that dictates strategy. Also, you need to have raising ranges as IP. Otherwise you are a “punching bag”. OOP can start betting all its 1P hands and get to even draw out against your current value with rivered 2P.
55:22 this is a misconception. Having less Qx rfi range doesn’t mean you have less TP on the flop. It’s always the proportion of the overall range. The factors that make you open less Qx also make you open less trash which have the effect of diluting the proportion of TP on the flop. Except under very heavy ICM, or 4Bet pot conditions do the construction of rfi range affects the proportion of TP. Obviously rank of the TP is relevant but you get the point?
44:57 I think the impact of protection is underrated here. BB has a wide range that called. It’s the covering stack. BTN’s AK/AJ, low pp have an incentive to fold out a ton of offsuit air in BB range. Plus as Fedor mention before the band started that BB is forced to defend some trashy Ax/Kx and if he doesn’t betting range works even better. Now I agree that some value hands don’t want the pot to grow,l plus under ICM fedor’s value threshold for 3streets is very high. But I think flop is still early days and there is a ton of benefit in cleaning up your outs and getting protection. A7o is kinda a neat hand to Chet. Folds out high Ax combos like A8,A9,AT maybe, but gets called by A5, A4. It also folds out trash which a lot of combos
To Leon: I am someone who at 23 also had low self esteem and continuously struggled with social situations. Good job recognizing this so early. Now that I am 71, I can tell you that you will figure it out and once you get your self esteem motor going, life is much easier. Therapy helped me, but you do you.
Great podcast, very smart and interesting guest.
Two of the best, I just wrote Jaffe in my Top ten in my blog at JBpokeriswar.blogspot.com
King Rast!!!
I love this! It's so encouraging to hear an O.G. to say that poker still has a steep learning curve! Compounding interest on working on your game is real!
Very true
@JonathanJaffeGLHF And thanks for Giving Nicky P the game. He speaks highly of you in one of his interviews on TH-cam.
One of the few players I really love listening during commentary. His frame of thought is solid and not only NLH.
Let’s go!! Happy holidays to the GTO Labs team and grinders out there
Thanks Bobby :)
Just another fish who got extremely lucky.
Why? Rast is technically strong -evident from his commentary. He has been in the live arena for decades. If anyone this guy isn’t a fish. There are plenty but not him
No basis with this comment.
theres always some salty comment like this, stay mad
@@Kektamusprime grrrrr I'm so mad! Stay broke!
😂obviously this is a joke. The man has won the the PPC 3 times.
12:30 I love Leon being completely open minded to different aspects of if his hand makes a good jam or not. gotta be so surgical at the top level
Thank you so much for putting this together! Learning so much
from the life perspective Leon being still young he smart boy but having in mind yes we all different bla bla the opportunity he has is life lottery he already there high stakes so early and smart enough to play at this level the money you can earn could help not only him for whatever reason but help anybody in need he can help. yes poker at those stakes is stressful but absolutely worth, I would not bother with the issue connecting with people or missing on those years you aint gonna even remember few yeas later and it does not matter every one will go their way and it is only you with in the end you are on another level already Sir so keep pushing unless you want to be a doctor or so FORGET ABOUT STUDYING that will never generate wealth you can get from playing poker as seems you could stay there for a long time being super successful. GET that money Now THANK ME LATER 20 down the road. all the best great podcast.
i dont think he can justify this in any way other than wanting to take chips away from 2nd place. It worked but most times it wont.
wowww great listen thank you guys
thanks for the great content guys🔥
Rabichow is one of my favorite coaches - always learn a lot when we chat or I listen to any of his content. Thanks for this one
Thanks Joey 🙏
Kevin is a gent.. i like blunt nice guys...its gto-ish
Such a humble, underrated GOAT.
so poker has now become memorizing sizes/frequencies/board textures. Like studying for the mcat/lsat. Completely lost the magic of pre-solver street poker.
Love listening to the insight you guys provide with these conversations
Thanks Ghetty 🙏
Kevin 😍
When are we getting Mario on?
ps ..I know nobody thinks this in the poker pro community ..imo ..they are wrong
loved the video ..and both guys sharing thanks.. that said checking while way ahead.. betting 120k after giving away a chunk of equity..and the betting 300k after you are dead imo if you are out of position bet the 300k on the flop ..end the hand ..add to your stack..and continue to protect your tourny equity ..hate to be 2nd guessing Nick ..this is like trapping with aces ..dont do it
dont worry daniel the triton is on its way to the bahamas .Then we can see if you can still compete against the best of the world.Last time I checked in the 250k WSOP you wernt doing so well against them.
the only useful part is preflop.
as many of these videos as possible! Would be cool to get some cash game stuff too. Keep up the awesome work
Can't spell Nick Petrangelo without range
Nick Betrangelo
Amazing vid, more like this pls!
Thanks 🙏

High level. I have to watch it at least 3 times.
Love it Adriano ❤️
What accent is brewer?
I’m wondering too, sounds like an accent from the uk somehow 😂
Please try get Michael addamo on the pod 🙏🏻🙏🏻
8 minutes in, great transition from Nick's: "both options are available" to Chris going : "probably the worst combo to bet in the deck" 😂
Ppl like to say Tritton is where the best play so let see the all time money list ranking 16th Mateos 21th Ponakovs 26th Mat And 56 nick 😂 Also you probably play more Tritton then Ponakovs Ego ego ego
Lol that ego make my eyes bleed Ponakof deff better player Mat and Mateos probably also
nick sucks ego maniac
This is the best poker episodes on the interwebs.
Thanks 🙏
I really like the fact that you went street by street, and delivered both players thoughts, on what they should do and what their opponent should have / do. It's a pretty neat approach to a hand review
Glad you enjoyed it!
Both saying that they wouldn't be happy to raise the six high flush was sick hah
great stuff
Thanks 🙏
Amazing format
Glad you liked it!
To all those who are fans of “creative play” and “ street poker” and what not…. Just know that there is no BASE jumping without the BASE. But once you have the base to jump off you have all the tricks to perform. But you have to start from base
