Thank you very much for making this video, On Time Tech. I did not replace the fan since mine is brand new, but I opened it and taped two layers of SilverStone Technology Noise Absorption Material to keep it quiet. It works great. My NAS 326 is super quiet now. When my fan starts making noise, I'll replace it with Noiseblocker BlackSilent Fan XC1 you suggested.
Good to know. I'm always a little careful with the mats, as I'm thinking: More mats -> more thermal insulation -> higher requirement for the fan. But if you know what you're doing that definitely can take you the last mile. Especially since it also help with any noise which might come from the drives themselves.
It doesn't appear that the Noiseblocker BlackSilent Fan XC1 (80X80X15mm 3pin) is available for purchase. However I've just installed the NB-BlackSilent Pro (80mmX80X15mm 4pin). The 4 pin cable can be attached without an adapter. However, to get the fan to fit, I had to install the included screws and nuts backward, that is inserted the screws from inside the case so they extend outside the case with the nuts attached. I'm sure properly sized silicon rubber screws would work as well. Note this product does exhibit some noise. Another option 80X80X15mm fan is the CoolerMaster R4-SPS-20AK-GP (3 pin). As an aside, the original fan installed (Y.S. Tech 80X80X20mm 3pin) can't be lubricated because after removing the product sticker, the cover over the hub is solid plastic. Thank you for the excellent video.
Thanks for the update. Some things might always change the older the video gets. In the comments there are some more useful tips by other users. In fact I have brought an "coolink swif2-80l" as a fan the last time I had to replace one myself because someone here suggested it.
I used the "Noiseblocker BlackSilent Fan XC1". It's an improvement compared to the build in, but it's not THE most silent fan out there. Any fan with the right dimensions should work though, if you need a completely inaudible fan.

Thanks for this.Done it, additionally added some noise blocking self adhesive mats where applicable and a coolink swif2-80l. Dead quiet!

@@0ntimetech368 Noise blocker mats are not or less insulating. They are made of a very open soft foam and a perforated thin vinyl top layer ;)
For a thicket fan, you can mount it on the outside of the case.
Thank you for this guide. The same method works for 325 v2 :)

Great thanks, this is also the same for the NAS 325 v2 that I have, and as you say you need a bit of a leap of faith to remove the outer case.
Thank you very much bro
nice video sir, thank you, I am going to change fan in my 326 too because it is too loud since unboxing.
Agreed, just got my box and it's very loud. Annoying when they ruin a box that is otherwise ok with a cheap loud fan.
thank you!
Do You think there is significant difference between your choice NB Blacksilent XC1 to Coolink Swif2 80L? Are there any other good options to choose?
Some people say the "Swif2 80L" is even more quiet. It's definitely not a wrong choice I would say.
Thanks for manual. It´s possible to mount a fan 80x80x25mm?
Probably not. Anything significantly larger than 80mm*80mm*20mm would not fit.
@@0ntimetech368 Okay, thank you..
May I ask what replacement fan did you use?
