20 years and it all went by in a flash ⚡The American Idiot 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition is out now 💣💥 Go give it a listen or grab a copy greenday.lnk.to/americanidiot20thdeluxe
THIS song is the green day i’ve missed. GOD i’m so happy with this sound, i deadass could cry it’s simple but changes when it needs to, and the MELODY is infectious as HELL
The rhythm section was always strong but Mike is a musician who will only add bass fills when it's needed and doesn't only do it to show off and a song like this had room for it
Mike Dirnt understands the role of bass guitar better than most rock bass players. When to play, when not to play. When to do bass runs. He's a demon on bass
Pure work of art!!!!! It gives me chills just listening to Billies' voice, Mike's bass, Tre's drums, they are incredible, the best band ever!!!!, I love them, please come to Mexico
Love the speed and sound on this song! It's so good to hear Mike's bass lines sound so dynamic like this and really go all out, doing fun runs, like he used to more on earlier albums. More of this please:)
thank you Green Day!!! you went and did it yet again. Thank you for 30 years of the best music ever!!! you ARE my life heroes!!! This song is unbelievable. Pretty please just come to south africa man. like in pretty please. i love you forever!!!
[Chorus] She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell) She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 [Verse 1] She's throwing punches to the beat To the sound of cable TV And she'll never see the world the same She is a Cold War in my head And I am East Berlin On the danger side of parts unknown [Pre-Chorus] Coffee and cyanide for lovers in disgrace If this is not a test, we got one foot in thе grave [Chorus] She's gonna bang her hеad like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell) She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 [Verse 2] Crimes from another time Champagne and party lives God bless the end of times Pain, commies and cocaine Slam danced in acid rain We'll live the dream, for fifteen minutes of fame [Chorus] She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell) She's gonna bang her head like 1981 She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell) (So long, farewell)
The year i was born 1981..been a fan of green day since i was 13 and Dookie came out. Then i found Kerplunk and 1,000 smoothed out slappy hours. Then insomniac came out and loved that one too. J.A.R. is an awesome songle of the Angus soundtrack too. After those albums i never much cared for their output. I do respect them as i am an artist as well(yes,.u can find my music here on TH-cam, just search my name) and i know it's newrly impossible to please everyone but i dig this track a lot. Rock on!
Theyre all over 50 years of age and once again at the peak of their music career, saviours is one of the best punk hard rock albums of all time, they have turned back the clock by about 20 years, saviours album is such a blast.
Thank-you Green Day, from the bottom of my heart and I'm sure alot of other people's too. This new album and these new songs are really something amazing. This one is as meaningful to me as other's like Still Breathing and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. You guys are amazing and you've helped so many like me.
I was just doing research on greenday i remember growing up and listening to them and I'm 22 now its crazy to see them still all together rocking out for longer than I've been alive lol , god bless keep rocking brotha's
Anybody feel a slight comparsion to monkey Wrench by foo fighters, especially the back up vocal parts in the outro. Dont Wanna be your monkey wrench (fall in, fall out) 🎶 Shes gonna bang her head like its 1981 (so long, Farewell) 🎶
I think this is my favorite song on the album. Theres not a bad song that i would go out of my way to skip on it, but i find myself coming back to this song more than the others
After first listen, this one is most stuck in my head, but all the tracks are solid. Great job Green Day, looking forward to seeing you guys in Toronto!

THIS song is the green day i’ve missed. GOD i’m so happy with this sound, i deadass could cry

Agreed. Such a banger
Chunky bass fills again?! This shit is giving me goosebumps. Green Day found their rhythm section again.
The rhythm section was always strong but Mike is a musician who will only add bass fills when it's needed and doesn't only do it to show off and a song like this had room for it
@@dylanburton4955 That's fair. I just miss some of their older songs like longview and welcome to paradise. Those bass lines and drums are iconic.
Dude, they just posted the making of video for this song and he just ate that shit, no crumbs, no survivors. Amazing. He is criminally underrated.
Only problem I have with this is that I wish it could be at least a minute longer. But damn this is one of the best songs on the album!
Maybe so we could repeat it over and over and over again.
This could easily be the 90’s with this song
real!
This is a very fast song that’s why it’s quick
@@gabrieladdison I mean it’s not particularly fast tbh 😅 and if that were true, Metallica songs wouldn’t be like 7 minutes each.
Mike's bass playing on this is PHENOMENAL 🔥
He's definitely an under rated bass player for sure
Mike Dirnt understands the role of bass guitar better than most rock bass players. When to play, when not to play. When to do bass runs. He's a demon on bass
Mike is psychotic on the bass, we haven't heard it in a while for sure! I'm glad he gets to shine a little
The song I've been waiting to hear, and finally here it is. Since I heard it in the live version I wanted to listen to it in its entirety
This record is like a reassuring hug from a much loved and trustes old friend. Thank you B-J Mike & Tré
Pure work of art!!!!! It gives me chills just listening to Billies' voice, Mike's bass, Tre's drums, they are incredible, the best band ever!!!!, I love them, please come to Mexico
Well, since most of Mexico is coming here, why don't you just join them and catch a show while you're here?

Yep, at their age going back to their prime. So, it revolves a full turn. Like how our world is still turning.
Yeah that album sucks so bad
@@nicolasj77I agree, I give it a chance, but couldn’t like it
@@nicolasj77a few of those songs are alright
@@cmoss9464 I only liked 'sugar youth'
This song reminds me of my happy days of childhood.
Thank you, Green Day
This is some old school sounding Green Day. love it!
Love the speed and sound on this song! It's so good to hear Mike's bass lines sound so dynamic like this and really go all out, doing fun runs, like he used to more on earlier albums. More of this please:)
It’s literally impossible to pick a favourite from this album, every song is just so good
One Eyed Bastard - I play a mafia game and its perfect
@greenday THIS SONG GIVES ME THE “MONKEY WRENCH” VIBES BY THE foo fighters!!!!
I love the energy
Greenday is so back with this album 🤘🤘
This song, "Look Ma, No Brains!", and "Livin' in the 20s" are def my top 3 off this album. But this whole album is honestly a banger! 🎉❤ 🔥
Corvette summer is amongst the top 3 4 surly lol
Those plus corvette summer
This one's an instant classic. Been listening to it on repeat for a week now. Can't wait to listen to this during the summer
Best bass lines since Insomniac/Nimrod. So clear in the mix, too!
best song on the album

She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
[Verse 1]
She's throwing punches to the beat
To the sound of cable TV
And she'll never see the world the same
She is a Cold War in my head
And I am East Berlin
On the danger side of parts unknown
[Pre-Chorus]
Coffee and cyanide for lovers in disgrace
If this is not a test, we got one foot in thе grave
[Chorus]
She's gonna bang her hеad like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
[Verse 2]
Crimes from another time
Champagne and party lives
God bless the end of times
Pain, commies and cocaine
Slam danced in acid rain
We'll live the dream, for fifteen minutes of fame
[Chorus]
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (So long, farewell)
(So long, farewell)
Thanks!
Wow, relatable. I was in grade 11 in ‘81.
Awesome song! Possibly the best on the album. Only problem is there’s only one verse. That verse melody is pure pop punk gold!
Couldn't agree more, amazing verse
I mean I feel like Suzie Chapstick is better
Ignored this on my first few listens but this is an absolute gem !!
My personal FAV!! I loved this so much.
The ongoing tradition of Green Day's songs beginning with "She" and being awesome ❤
Daaaaaang this sounds like a classic punk song from the 80’s or 90’s. What a banger dude.
ONE OF THE BEST OF THE ALBUM!! THAT BASS!!!
Love this song
When I listen to your song, my heart goes back to being a child❤️
They don't make speakers loud enough for this song
and we still love you and your HONESTY

Underrated song, best on the album in my opinion.
These energizing songs are what give me the strength to carry on.

I already know “She’s gonna bang her head like 1981!” is gonna be stuck in my head for weeeeeks. Super cool song.
Sounds like green day going back to 90s roots
I love this song but the prechorus sounds very similar to the prechorus in Back in the USA and I also love the bridge, reminds me of dilemma a bit
