I love this song so much. I can't get over the imagery of "Falling like a yo-yo" because that's genuinely what it feels like to have a mental breakdown. Just violently falling and spinning so fast and out of control. You can't stop and you can't even figure out where you are or where you're going. It's just great writing.

I wish I would have discovered Green Day in the Spring of 2009 when 21st CBD came out, the time my (second) father had left my mum and me. That would probably have gotten me through those rough years, 2009 and 2010, a lot better. I discovered Green Day in Summer of 2012 when the troubles had already been over for about 1,5 years and life was good again. Still, they are my favourite band to this very day for almost 12 years now.
When you’re my age (45) and you’ve been listening to this band since 1994, the “we all die young someday” line & the Nirvana references hit you like a ton of bricks. This album really is like a trilogy with Dookie & American Idiot where it really represents 3 phases of your life. I’m glad younger people appreciate it but if you’re an old head like me, it just hits different

I first came across Green day when I was 13 or 14 with their dookie album. Loved them ever since. I try to see them every time they come to England 🇬🇧. Great to hear new songs 🎵 👌
