    I never understood the different kinds of break points on the heel of a glove but now I do thanks to you! Great video👍

    Great job young man. Luckily I just bought the Wilson in your demo. Fantastic delivery with excellent instruction. You're mature beyond your years. Travel Baseball Dad.

    Once I bent the top pad is there a way to form it back to "normal"?

    • @914ballgloves8
      @914ballgloves8  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! for the most part you can probably just force it back to its original spot if you do it carefully. Once that pad wears out though, it may be a little tricky to hold its shape

    Did you go traditional or two in the pinky with this glove?

      I think he uses the 12", PROSTM. But if it is anything like my 12.25" PROFM20XL, it is probably oversized for 12".

    Is the snakeskin on the shell leather or synthetic material?

    • @914ballgloves8
      @914ballgloves8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s leather, but it has to be a tad thinner than regular leathers to make the embossing process easier

    Would you say a rawlings prodct is a single a dual breakpoint??

    • @914ballgloves8
      @914ballgloves8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t really specify that in the video, my bad. The picture of the Rawlings glove I put in the video is an Anthony Rizzo model. It has a wider heel to allow for a dual break. It’s not really about brand, it’s more about the specific patterns. Hope that helps! 👍

    Good stuff. Wilson is weird with 1B mitts in my opinion. They don't make any 13" mitts, so I think they oversize some of their 12.5" mitts to play closer to 13" to compensate. Yuli Gurriel uses a 1613, and that thing does not look like it is 12.25" or 12.5". I'm honestly starting to wonder about the value of the single measurement for a glove in general. One brand's 11.5" might be way different from another's. Some brands might even have differences between equal glove sizes in their catalog (one pattern might run small, another big, etc). I wish they would add another dimension to the measurement. Such as a circumference measurement to 1B mitts, or a heel width measurement to fielding gloves, to give the buyer more information.

      I think what ultimately matters the most is the pattern of a glove, and its weight (which is mostly affected by leather type and pad thickness). I usually game a 12.75 in the outfield but if the feel is right, I can game a 12.5 or even a 13. At first base I've gamed a 12.5 Rawlings renegade, up to a 13inch GG elite. It's ultimately about feel, for the most part.

      Don’t do it, take your time, buy some high quality glove oil and play catch often. It can completely ruin your glove.

    Also to, can I do this with our glove oil? Because I don’t have any, and I don’t want to hot water my glove because I’ve never done it and I’m scared to do it😂

    • @914ballgloves8
      @914ballgloves8  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glove oil/conditioner is like lotion for a glove. It's not necessary to initially break in a glove, but maybe you'd want to pick up a conditioner in the future to keep the leather from drying out. Hope that helps!
