    First off, thanks for taking the time to make your videos, not just anyone is willing to do it! Second, your video is absolutely amazing! I needed to break my brand new Mizuno glove in for a tournament I will be playing in a couple of days, and I followed all your steps! The end result is that I have a game ready glove! I just wanted to also say you are very knowledgeable when it comes to the sport! Thanks again.

    Alright alright, thanks you guys for all of these super fantastic videos breaking in all of the gloves! Im going to utilize your techniques and get all of my girls’ gloves setup. I used your technique on my glove and both of my daughters gloves.... what a difference it instantly made! My daughters are new to the sport and my youngest was keeping balls in her glove right on the very first catch! I made 2 homemade mallets (lol) after breaking the wooden mallet handle. One I used a 12” softball, as that is the size of ball they are catching to form a bigger size pocket. And then I used a baseball to get it deeper.
    Again, your technique was a game changer in what I thought was already a somewhat broke in glove. After using your technique it is undoubtably broke in now!!! Thank you, my girls thank you!!!

    Hey Coach, thank you for taking the time to show and teach how to properly break in gloves! I am wondering if I should use the same sized baseball mallet for a fastpitch softball glove or should I use one that's more of the size of a 12" softball?

    Fantastic video. Did this process for my 6 year old's 10 inch glove and it worked great! Typically the smaller gloves are harder to break in the old fashioned way, as they grow out of them so quickly and don't use them enough to break in that way. My son is now squeezing the mitt and getting a great feel for catching the ball properly.

    This method works Fantastic !!! One thing for anybody doing this. Use Cream Conditioner on the glove after the water had dried out of the glove. Especially on the laces. Use something like Wilson, Rawlings or Nokona Glove Conditioner. Don't use too much just a little. Using the water method dries out the leather a little. So, putting some Cream Conditioner on the glove rehydrates the glove and makes the leather softer. I find this makes the glove and laces last way longer.

    New subscriber and these are probably repeat questions. When/how is glove oil used in the process? Can you use hot water on a glove that has previously been oiled. Great videos - thanks.

    • @CoachHP
      @CoachHP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the subscription man really appreciate it. We don’t use oil on the gloves any more. We do apply a damp cloth after some use to clean off dirt and specs that the gloves do accumulate via use.

    Getting my first glove in years this weekend, a Rawlings Sandlot first base mitt, going to use your video to break it in, thanks for the video brother. Question though, I’ve never oiled or conditioned a glove before, I know with my work boots I wait a month or two before I do a first oiling, how should I do that with a glove? And how often after that should I do it?

    • @CoachHP
      @CoachHP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      super pumped for you bro! I am lefty and played first base also. How about you? With these new glove and our method you dont have to use anything just a damp cloth to remove dirt after a while of usage.
