the thing about an SAO live-action movie is this: 1)could it be done=yes, 2) should it be done=i don't think so, at least not yet. how much will it combine Progressive, and the version of SAO we've all seen, who will direct it, and who will they cast for the characters? if they were to make it something close to Ready Player One, i might be ok with it. i still say some anime/light novels are difficult to translate/convert into live action due to some of the subtle parts that might get missed. but, if it happens, i'd be up for watching it.
Last year in TGS,they talked the Live Action Project still alive, idk if that suggest the live action project finally out from development hell and they will begin to produce it soon,or they just capitalized One Piece Live Action success so fans can be hyped, and they say the Live Action will be out it the next 5 years,so If that case, maybe we will get update for it on this year TGS.
And that was so out of nowhere as well, mentioned solely because One Piece Live Action got unexpectedly popular at the time. Literally at the end with "Oh, nothing new btw, but we want to remind you an SAO Live Action also still exists" xD
@@Gamerturkyeah,but I think with the success of One Piece and Avatar Live Action,I think Netflix probably will start to Produce SAO Live Action, knowing they already have the licensed.
im not so sure that that is the world tree from ALO. ALO's tree has a very different aesthetic to it. there is also the lore that aincrad was also formed by two black and white holy trees that are intertwined within its structure.
The aesthetic is not at all dissimilar tbh. A spiraling, white, gigantic tree. And there is nothing in the lore that suggests the holy trees are similarly gigantic like Yggdrasil. In fact, Hollow Realization used normal sized trees for them, without the black and white aesthetic.
I would very much like to have a Unital Ring anime instead but idk I feel like the live action can be pulled off very well if done right. I’m still very excited if that’s what we are getting
Man, I know we talk about what we hate to believe but man who knows what they might actually give us because they’re the ones making it and us as fans are just waiting for what’s about to happen either It’s true or what we thought or it’s true of what we disbelieve
I'm thinking more towards Option 3, but in 2 possibilities: A. It could be teasing that VR Experience idea that Skydance said back when the live action adaptation was first announced & I don't think Netflix getting the rights from Skydance changed their plans of the overall idea. In fact, I still believe that Spy Kids: Armageddon was a test/preview from Skydance & Netflix to see if they can do SAO. Part of Spy Kids: Armageddon was about a video game merging into the real world & the family had to go into the game & stop it. B. It's a tease for the next SAO game. Maybe not an immersive VR game, but maybe like a new start after finishing up the Gamesverse. Maybe an SAO MMO or be something completely different. I've seen Pokemon & Digimon do live action ads too. So, anything is possible, but seeing those scenes of ALO & UW has me to believe that it's not the actual Netflix reveal. Considering how they want to adapt all the LNs, a single Netflix season is probably not even reach Fairy Dance & it'd take a few years to get to Alicization/WoU.
skydance media currently owns the production rights to the sao live action and it was also announced that their own vr game studio skydance interactive would develop an sao vr game. just this past month skydance merged with paramount and at the same time sony is making moves to buy paramount. there is currently a major possibility that they will all end up under the sony umbrella along with aniplex and a1 pictures very soon, like within the next year.
btw skydance sold the distribution rights of the sao live action to netflix but skydance is still set to be the production studio. this is the same set up that they had for altered carbon. skydance produced and netflix distributed.
whatever the merger outcomes are, skydance is set to gain a massive amount of production power and projects that have been dormant on their shelf for a while may soon spring to life
@@Gamerturk the original collider interview with laeta kalogridis that was the first place to mention her selling sao to netflix mentions "skydance television's netflix production".
The Scherzo movie released 2 years ago Aggo season 2 starts in October. So, they'll probably focus on AGGO for a year or 2. Plus, there's also going to be another original SAO movie coming soon; which got announced back in November of 2022.
Yes i agree we need unital ring anime for sao to continue. The game is not enough for fans to comeback. Sao franchise have already fallen down to hil 😢
@@gauchegunawan7376 They're obviously trying to use the games & the spinoffs (uncluding AGGO) to try & milk whatever is left of the franchise & I don't think it's working. I don't think people are interested in the new spinoffs, Last Recollection sold pretty badly in Japan, & as much as I'm interested in FD, I think that game's already D.O.A because of its bad release date & the West still hating on SAO overall.
The option 3 seems very far, since a lot of people do not have the headset and the techology of coding is not mature yet. Only Valve with Alyx got somethign worth, so it's possible, but it's not very profitable for them.I would be very surprised they would go for this. Perhaps the generic aspect is to adress of the general fantasy public and less of the fans. Weird there is AGGO tho, I don't get it. They follow the games but not the books I guess? However I agree the clearing date of Aincrad seems to be something to look for.
That is the thought process actually. Adoption is still low, but with Sony on the production committee, they could easily see SAO as a massive mass adopter opportunity in Japan at the very least.
The themes were obviously stolen from the latest Warcraft video for the newest expansion for World of Warcraft. But if it works, it works and I’m all about there being something new for SAO. I’m really impressed with how many titles they’ve come up with over the years that haven’t been successful, and I’m just really hoping one of them sticks Will say though this trailer was probably SUPER expensive
I am not expecting anything. Still, I believe Netflix should work on the Sword Art Online live-action series because One Piece was a success too. Whoever joins as showrunner, I want them to do it justice. I always have Eric Kripke in my mind for this project. Hope Netflix will soon give their attention to this series.
I trust TGS2023 conclusion, its main pillar of their future plan. How could LA ads put in same length promotion as Fractured Daydream and AGGO2 to be their project? So it shouldnt be ads
Oh that'll be a long long time. Voice actors maintain their voices for a very long time. Shaman King cast basically remained unchanged with the remake after 30 years for example.

Unital Ring Anime is still very very far away.
I think the arc needs to be finished writing first sadly
Hopefully, it's closer to option 2 or 3 🤔
