Instead of air frying the drumsticks the whole time you could have pressure cooked them for five minutes and then air fried them. The meat would have stay moist and the skin would have been crispy.
That's the recipe for Buffalo Wings in the cook book. I just used that as a guide for KFC. Pressure cook for 5 minutes, then air fry for 15 at (in my case) 200°C. Next time, I'll trim a couple of minutes off that 'cos it was a tad too brown and a tad too crunchy.
Excellent demo. I have the same foodie and I love it. I use it everyday. I love the convience of pressure cook meat, followed by air-fry to finish it such as Korean beef ribs - pressure cook 6-7 mins, followed by air-fry 4-5 mins. Then use sear function to thicken the sauce. It is one of the best/must have kitchen helpers.
Your demonstration is most helpful to learn about all the functions of this Ninja Foodi. I send a smile filled with gratitude to You and your videographer.
I don't know if it's mentioned in any other comments, but the "Seal/Vent" on top, if you turn it all the way to "Vent" it should hit a detent and stay there so you don't have to hold it the whole time after pressure cooking. You probably figured that out by now lol, but just in case you didn't know, and in case anyone else see's this and wonders... 😎 Great demo and video! Cheers!
Thanks for the comment ! And yes. I got it figured out finally !! The video was the first time ever using it. So I made some rookie mistakes. Cheers. Marc
I appreciate how in the beginning of the video he wasn’t advertising his channel and verbally telling us to subscribe and hit the notification button. He jumped right into the product as how any review video should! (I bought this item because of this video)
Great review and funny too ! I love the Ninja Foodie and have 3 of them (don't ask). One thing you should learn (from reading the instructions) is that the "keep warm" function can (and should in most cases when pressure cooking) be canceled by tapping the keep warm button twice while cooking. That will stop it continuing to build pressure when you are trying to release pressure after cooking. Oh and that "sweet spot" you keep trying to find when putting the pressure lid on? its actually marked on the lid and the Ninja itself and all you have to do is line up the marks and then lower and turn - its really easy. Again, read the instructions folks. :-) keep up the great videos - very entertaining.
I had just recently bought the exact same Ninja Foodie Deluxe and I was overwhelmed with all the features and a bit scared of the pressure cooker part of it until I watched your great video, you did a super job on your demonstration thank you for doing this !!
The rice would be better if you left it under pressure for 10 minutes [not on keep warm] and then quick released it. 'Natural' release is when you stop heating it but do not vent the pressure and let it come back to normal on its own as it cools. Quick release is when you operate the valve and cause it to release quickly. Try the rice again that way, as described in the book, and I think you'll find it better even if it's not your favorite thing to eat ;).
I am not afraid to use the pressure cooker anymore and appreciate your thorough explanations and specific details for using the ninja tendercrisp. I’ve had mine for at least 5-6 years. I use the airfryer feature for chicken legs, thighs and wings in the basket and use the rack for steaks and salmon. I will start testing out using the pressure cooker to cook meals like red beans New Orleans style. I enjoyed your video. Thank you!
SO glad I found your channel! Just got this as a Christmas gift. It will be here Thursday. All the time I spent dropping hints that I wanted it, and I have no idea how to use all the features I am hearing about! LOL You are my new friend!
I have this exact one and I love it. My favorite thing to do is put meat on my Traeger pellet smoker for a few hours and then I put it in my ninja foodie and finish pressure cooking it. It saves me so much time and that way you get the smokiness from the Traeger and the tender meat from the pressure cooker
I have just got one of these, I am totally new to cooking. I’m looking forward to learning and see what it can do. Great video, I am only half way through and I’m looking forward to the rest of this video and hoping you have uploaded more.
Amazing comment thanks so much !! If u have any questions just shoot me a message. I always good to reply !! And don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already !!! Happy cooking !! - Marc
Not sure if mentioned as I just came across this video. I bought this same one about 5 months ago and love it. When putting on the pressure lid, aim the lock symbol on the lid with lock symbol on the unit and then spin to lock. Great video, like how it's done all natural.
Thanks so much for the comment and the tip !! Glad you’re enjoying the ninja. Check out our other ninja videos where we make some great recipes!! Cheers - Marc
Thank you so much for your funny and very informative review and tutorial.I received my ninja as a gift and was petrified of it.I finally decided to put some extra effort into using it.I didnt get too far and when it got to the seal/vent plug I lost all my confidence.I thought there was something I was doing wrong because it was so loose. After watching your video,I was able to see that it's supposed to be loose.Thank you again, also I use a long handled utensil to open the vent.
Confused between buying this or the new Ninja foodie max 12 in 1. The two lids in this one are really putting me off but i love the rest of the features. Not sure which one is better. What would you recommend??
I made frozen pre cooked angus burgers on 400 degrees for 10 minutes with no oil and they came out like i got them from a restaurant not even fast food can defeat this 9 in 1 air fryer so happy my mom got it. And thanks for all of these examples of the food you made ill be sure to try some of them.
Hey, great review! I know I'm late to the party, I just ordered this model today, can't wait to start using it! I did discover there is a newer "smart" model out now, but that's ok. After all, I was the kid that finally got the OG Nintendo when the Super Nintendo came out 😅 I hope you're still enjoying yours 3 years later!
Gotta say this is the most informative and friendly video I've watched about this contraption. I just got one and had no idea what to do with it and so many other videos just confused me more. Thanks for this!
I just bought this model on Amazon and was looking for ideas as I'm excited to get going with it. You managed to cram an awful lot of informative stuff, with a dose of humor into this review. With each recipe you left wiggle room for personal taste. I just subscribed and will be looking at your other videos.
Hi. I've just bought this Ninja. I live in UK. Must admit I was terrified and almost sent it back to the Supplier before trying it. BUT !! ---------after watching your presentation, I'm going to keep it and try it out. Thank you so much. You did a Great job !! Our Electricity in UK is too expensive to use in Standard cookers. The War in Ukraine has caused this. Bye for now, I'll let you know how it goes for me.
Just bought one of these despite a lifelong irrational fear of pressure cookers. My mother (who didn’t have one) told me when I was a child the lid could blow off. 🙄 Your video was so helpful. Curious as to the preheating for the air fryer/crisper…does it give a signal when the desired temperature is reached? I’d rename your channel the Above Average Kitchen! Enjoyed your style and all the funny cartoons you put in…how does one do that btw?
Thanks so much for the fantastic comment !! Made my day. There is no signal on the preheating, but that would certainly be a nice feature !!! Thanks for watching ! Marc
I totally agree CC. In my opinion I doubt if the preheating is of a major concern because the volume of the cooker is relatively small say compared to a traditional full sized oven. Small volume = short preheating time.. I too would like to know how to insert those humorous little pop up video clips. They really add to the overall feel of the episode.
amazon also sells a stainless steel pot instead of Teflon pot it comes with. since you used metal spoon you might consider getting one, the other won't hold up for long.
Thanks so much for such an informative video. I am looking to buy one. I have a regular Air Fryer which I am not liking too much so saw this one at a good price on one of the sites, but wanted to see a demonstration. When watching a video from a place of purchase it only talk about what it does. I needed to see it actually used. So when I put it in searched on TH-cam it took me to yours. Glad it did because you did a great job and it also let me know to put on mitts before letting out the steam on the Pressure Cooker lol. I have a slow cooker that I love. I had it a lot of years. My low settings stop working. So I tried to use my high settings for low which works. I felt its time to buy another Slow Cooker before none of the settings work. Its also time to get an Air Fryer that I will be pleased with. I saw this one is all in one which seems great. I which you could demonstrate other meats as well when it comes to the Pressure Cooker. Love to see that. Over all again great demonstration.
Great video (with comedy) and answered my choice of what to get and I WILL be buying this Ninja. I would say that if a person was buying this Ninja it’s needed to be left out to use and not to be put away. What would be the sense of buying something that can replace your cooker or hob, only to use it now and then. Instead of heating up a large oven to bake or roast using the Ninja must be cheaper to use. It can even replace your microwave and still take up less room.
Hi. Great demo 👏 I've had the Ninja Foodi for a while, but have only within the last couple of weeks started to use it. The possibilities seem pretty endless. Like you, I did a lot of research before I bought mine. And I have to say that, so far, the Foodi is more than living up to advance billing 👍 For some of your other viewers who, like me, are diabetic &, therefore, following the Keto Diet, there are a ton of Keto recipes for the Ninja Foodi. And the ones I've tried so far have been both easy on the prep time & really delicious. I wish I'd started using the Foodi when I first got it, but, better late than never as they say. Again, great demo vid. I'm looking forward to seeing some more. The NinjaFoodiTerrier🐶
Thanks so much for such a fantastic detailed comment. We’ve reviewed several other ninja air fryers and food processors. Please check out our other videos. Cheers. Marc
honestly what an entertaining video with lots of information. I LOVE IT!!! This video is so therapeutic to watch. I came for the review but I am now just enjoying the storytelling and the theatrics. Thank you! :)
OMG Thank You!!! My Ninja came missing the directions and the cookbook. Thanks also for your bit of struggle with the lid. I thought I was missing a few brain cells. Like what is the problem??? then I too found the sweet spot. Would be nice Ninja if you put a lineup mark for the pressure lid. Your sweet potatoes look that way because they have a lot more sugar than white potatoes. You are a lifesaver. thanks again
Loved your video and your comments but mostly loved that you didn't talk for 30 minutes in between tests!!!!! OMG!! why do youtubers think that anyone wants to listen to their ramblings!!! Great job!!! I ordered one last night and it should arrive Sunday. You made me feel better about my impulse buying!!!
Exactly. Wondering why hasn't the timer started for initial pre-wash steam before use?? Because takes 10 minutes reach maximum capacity.(wld have been useful in the instructions). And yes, use a knife/long handle touch steam release valve. Thank you for explaining that!🙏🙂
Okay, that was a great video. I like that you didn't try to hide anything & showed the good and bad & you have such a good sense of humor (or Jamie does with the edits! LOL). I'm happy I got this cooker. Realized just now that I have the 12-in-1. My niece has this one and says that the only thing she prefers using her toaster oven for is frozen fries. I will have to wait and see. Again, big thanks for such a good video. I am subbing now.
you earned yourself a subscription from my part! it's the first video of yours that i watched, and i am completely hooked! you have a great persona, and great presentation skills, combined with some amazing filming and editing for the ultimate package! hope you guys keep up the good work!
Hi, I just bought one yesterday and I made the first recipe in the book that came with it. A whole chicken it was delicious. I just asked an extra 5-10 minutes to be more crispy. I’m happy with it so far. I enjoyed your video. Thank you 😊
I loved your video pretty informative and entertaining. I feel more confident to start using my Ninja foodi, that I recently bought. Thanks for all your work.
Thanks so much for your kind words and watching our video !! We’ve done several videos since using the ninja. Don’t forget to check them out for some recipe ideas and good uses for the ninja. Cheers. - Marc
I start with hot water from my dispenser or while you prepare the food Add water first put controls on sauté then peal your carrots or prepare asparagus or what ever then when you load it put it on Pressure cooker and it will come up to pressure faster
you can get two different baskets, including an awesome one from the ninja website, for this, and also you can in fact use bertoli olive oil, i would use the high heat specifically, spray which has no additives but is aerosol so it's safe, and people who use it with their air fryer say the results are pretty amazing. oh and you have to do the fries twice, that's why none of them came out right, low heat to cook and soften a bit, little browning, blast high heat to form a dense incredible crust, i actually want to try blasting some fries with the bertoli right before the high heat to see if it adds more crust
Thank you very much for this! I was using mine for the first time and I've never used a pressure cooker before. I wasn't sure what to do when the timer started counting up and I thought I messed up. I was worried I had released the pressure too soon, but this video cleared it up.
I bought 8" round parchment paper sheets with holes that I use in air fryer basket and on racks (100/pkg from Ebay). Easy cleanup and protects finish on the basket. I can even rinse them off and reuse. You will love them.
I use the basket when cooking hard boiled eggs. No tongs are needed. It is much easier to load and safer to unload than the rack. I also cook mine for 5 min. with a 5 min. Quick Release and they are perfect every time. I then put them in cold water for 5 min. and they are so easy to peel. Tap the bottom of the egg on the counter top, lay egg on its side, then gently roll all the way around once, then start peeling egg from the bottom side. Fastest and easiest method ever!
Ok, I just made scallops and chips in the Ninja foodi. Form frozen scallops and frozen chips. Took about 13 min on the Air Crisp setting. Very simple to make. While my dinner was cooking I use the Ninja blender to make my smoothies and mixed my dipping condiments. So by the time my meal was completely cooked, in about 13 minutes, everything was ready to eat. So in 35 min I processed cooked and ate my dinner. Also, I process all of the dirty dishes into clean dishes in about 10 minutes. So in about 45 minutes the entire meal was consumed and the dishes were processed now I can just relax after a hard days work. What I like about the Ninja blender is, I can make enough smoothies for 3 meals. One for dinner one for the following breakfast and then one for lunch. The older I get the more I like the kiss principle in all aspects of my life: KISS, an acronym for keep it simple, stupid, is a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal in design, and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
Okay another point. You are starting from pressure cooker that's already warm from your last demonstration so your timing is going to be different when you're starting with a cold product. And two you stopped the cooking process of the hard-boiled eggs by dipping them into a ice bath. Let them slowly cool down. So far I'm enjoying the video
I watched several videos yours is by far the best someone gave me a brand new cooker with no manuals or anyting I learned so much I feel like I'm already going to be a pro can't wait to do my chicken wings best speaker best explainer and just a fun guy to watch have a blessed cooking day 👍 Ja'Cat
Thank you so much for your this fantastic walk through 9 different tests review!!! I have researched lots of reviews on this specific Ninja and by far you are the greatest t!!! So many reviews are boring and beyond words on how annoying that after 30 seconds its unbearable, yours's was so much fun I even sheared with my friends :) I was sceptical comparing this machine with other similar brands ( same price range ) I am definitely going ahead and buy this model as you so well demonstrated and explaining step by step how to get perfect results!!! Bravo sir !!! Wish you all the best and hopefully more videos like this one. Wish you all the best!!!
Just FYI usually you can lift and rotate the pressure release valve and lock it into the "open" position so you don't have to hold it while the pressure expels. Great review :)
Doing some research and thinking on buying one. This one is definitely in the top 5. I like the way it crisps up food with minimal to no oil. Looking at the food you cooked I think the sweet potato fries turned out the way they did due caramelization process because they have more sugar than a typical potato. Also, the eggs were probably cooked to perfection but I noticed you blanched them right away which stops the cooking process. All in all, great video on how the unit works. Myself, I’d review that pressure cooker section a few times before actually using. Thanks!!! 👍
It can totally be intimidating!!! But after a few uses you’ll be more comfortable. I remember growing up we had an old school stove top one. And my mom would grab it off the stove and run the unit under cold water to release the pressure. Now that’s intimidating!! Marc
I have ninja foodi 15 in 1 and the ninja foodi max dual air fryer, I love them both and most things I cook are fresh foods apart from fish fingers and I NEVER have the need to preheat either of them. ❤
im just bought this amazing thing and i was just finding another video on TH-cam about this foodie cause i wanted to avoid to read and try the manual said. but WOW i spend the whole 32:26 Minutes watching you. you got a talent on this keep doing it !! amazing and very detail video THANK YOU PARCERO.
Laughing out loud reading these comments! Haven't yet watched this entire video, but am relating to the fear of a pressure cooker! Just got this today via Prime Day sale, just watched 2 other videos, how to remove the anti clog valve and 1st test of Ninja Foodie with water. Feel like I'm just delaying out of fear, but am gonna go for it! 🤞
I bought mine in January of 2020 and forgot about it since I kept using my small air fryer. I loved your video showing the many ways to use my Ninja and I think I’m ready to air fry some chicken.
I purchased the Ninja Foodi Deluxe Pressure Cooker recently and love your review ! I'm a now a new follower. When you get accustomed to this unit, will you try baking with it?
I love that you can laugh at yourself, my friend. It's a key quality in great human beings. First time I've seen your channel. Searched up this product due to a local sale and looking to save space in the kitchen. Loved the review, buddy. Definitely going to grab it before it vanishes! Thanks a ton!
@@TheAverageKitchen Awesome. Glad I could make a fellow Canadian smile. Also, you and your editor are hilarious! Keep at it, my friend. You guys are great!
You're suppose to wait until the valve goes down inside. It pops up when it is fully pressurized, and down again when it is ready to open valve and remove lid. That takes about 15 minutes after it is done cooking, if you had the valve closed on pressure cooking.
I use a stove that runs off of propane, I was anticipating a chicken dinner when I got home from work. When I got home my husband pulled large pan of raw chicken and hard potatoes , we ran out of propane. So I suggested let open the Ninja cooker I gave you for your birthday 1 year ago.( Hes chef so I thought he would like that gift) but anyway we opened it up put the chicken and potatoes in , put it on bake/crisp, something like that. It was 15 minutes, that was all and we couldn't wait to see what it did. It came out fantastic! My husband's was wow with big eyes , he couldn't believe the crispy potatoes and the crunchy chicken. Can't wait to use it again.
Awesome video. Didn’t find it until I bought it but I’m so happy. Still watching videos however because now I need some yummy food ideas and cooking instructions. Thank you and cheers
I was looking on you tube to see the difference between 2 of the Ninja Foodie air fryer , and with your video , You convinced me to buy this one !! Thank you
A really good job demonstrating this machine. I have a Cosori 6qt air fryer and an instant pot. I have to say that the only thing I don't like here is the round air fryer basket. After owning both round and square I concur with others that say a square basket is much more efficient.
Just discovered your channel and I love it!! So nice to see fellow Canadian. My hubby wants an air fryer and I wanted a pressure cooker so I think you have convinced us that this is the kitchen gadget that would be perfect. Thanks so much for sharing and reviewing. I'm looking forward to watching many more videos!!
You will certainly enjoy this product! I had a 6-qt air fryer and a 6-wt pressure cooker but they took up so much counter space. I bought the Ninja Foodi XL Deluxe 8 qt combo and absolutely love it. Both functions work better and faster than both my previous units. I use it 2-3x/day and love the easy cleanup and accessories available for it. All my previous pressure cooker items work great for this product!
I'm a first time viewer of this channel and didn't know that Marc was a fellow Canadian. That explains his humorous approach to his video. Everyone knows Canada has the best comics. John Candy,Mike Myers,Russell Peters, and others are truly comic geniuses. Jim Gaffigan I've decided is an honorary Canadian just because he's so damned funny.
Brilliant review and thanks so much for the info in it. I was about to get the Ninja Air Fryer but having seen your review I am now going to order the 11 in 1 Foodi instead!
In your opinion does this air fry better than the Ninja 2-basket air fryer? Deciding between the two. I already have an instant pot though I wouldn't mind consolidating. But if the air fryer portion is better I'll get the other.
Very informative trustworthy video! After watching it more than three times I kept wondering when were you going to say what the model number of the Foodi you were testing because anyone that has seriously researched and purchased a Foodi would have to know which one the wanted or needed because one smart marketing strategy the Ninja company did was to flood the market with so many models over a short period which confuses the consumer to just by anyone one of the pressure cookers/air fryers! Unless I missed it and have to watch it a fourth time all I can remember is that you said it was the largest of the brand! But you have a fan in me and I’ll continue and looking forward to your videos in the future!
Hey thanks so much for the comment !! I believe you are correct, never mentioned the model number ! Good learning point for future videos. Cheers. Marc
Hey dude from The Average Kitchen I'm a newbie that just watched your channel for the first time and thought that I would just say great job,I really enjoyed it. Informative, easy for Joe Average to understand, and the thing that wants me to check out another episode you made it humorous with the little pop up clips and it looked like you were having fun. Some people are a bit dry with their instructional videos, but thankfully that wasn't you. I'm looking forward to checking you out again as I enjoy some time in the kitchen and like to learn about new gadgets, methods, etc.
Thanks so much for the fantastic comment. Really made my day. Our goal is to provide honest unbiased reviews while maintaining our integrity. Cheers !! Marc
I'm so excited about this, I just bought one for a Father's Day present. Hubby wanted an air fryer - so I got everything. This review was so much fun to watch, thank you for that!
Amazing !!! I use mine multiple times a week. I started taking notes how long certain things take to cook to our desired crispiness. Let me know what your favourite thing to cook in it !! - Marc
I have just got one, I am totally new to cooking. If you come across some good recipes, websites, TH-cam channel, please share them with me. I am totally new to the foodi and cooking. I hope you enjoy yours ☺️
I really liked the review. Great information and entertaining viewing. Definitely wanted one before hand and you've sold me on it for sure. Thank you kindly 😀
Apparently, to get your sweet potato fries crispier, it's best to dust them with flour first. I've tried it (not in a Ninja, mine arrives next week) but in our air fryer and oven. But I tend to use too much flour.
Thank you for doing this amazing demo. I'm very new to this ninja machine and i have the ninja foodi mini, and your video on this was very helpful on how to cook different food in it. i Will try all of these foods you cooked in mine.
Lol. Ninja makes all kinds of air fryers. The one I recently reviewed is a toaster oven. With a air fryer option. I still prefer the big one tho ! Marc
Amazing video Thankyou ❤️❤️❤️ I was in a dilemma between instant pot duo and ninija and looking through the awesome comments and your explanation I think will go with Ninija
Thank you for your informative how to use this duo combination pressure cooker and air fryer, I have been looking one of this gadget for a few month, as my kitchen helper.
Once you're done cooking something with the pressure cooker function, the valve can be locked into the "vent" position to bleed off the pressure so you don't have to hold the thing while a geyser of steam blows past your hand. Also, the pressure cooker lid has a raised arrow that lines up with a similar arrow on the cooker. That is the seating position before you turn the lid to lock it in place
@@TheAverageKitchen - I checked the majority of the comments to see if anyone had mentioned it yet. Three years live and I was the first. Every video I looked at on how to use the Ninja Foodie, the person runs into the exact same problem. I gave one of these to my mom a few months ago and she was terrified to use the pressure cooker, so I'm sending her links to videos (including this one) on how to use it BTW - I've had mine for nearly 5 years and I had no idea I could make eggs with it. THANKS! 👍
I got mine days back. I had no clue how to cook as a beginner, and I’m just being adventurous to start from somewhere. Wanted to do chicken shop, yet had no idea how it will be. This journey is gonna be fun with this ninja. Happened to see your video, and i think I’m gonna screen through your channel for more info. Hahaha. Cheers

24:47 how can I get instruction, recipe book
Instead of air frying the drumsticks the whole time you could have pressure cooked them for five minutes and then air fried them. The meat would have stay moist and the skin would have been crispy.
That’s a great suggestion !! I’ll have to try that thanks !!! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t !! Cheers - Marc
Yes, totally agreed!
Brine, pressure cook, crisp!
Great tip! - J
Thanks for the great comment! - J
Thanks so much for the fantastic comment !! I totally love this product and use it all the time !! Marc
He p
Can you share me your recipe for the Korean Beef ribs please?
Have seen a lot of reviews on the Ninja, but by far, yours is the best. Absolutely brilliant and natural.
Wow thank you so much for the very kind comment !! We do our best to be ourselves ! Don’t forget to subscribe!! - Marc
Best review I have seen period! Great job!
Thanks for the great comment! - J
Your demonstration is most helpful to learn about all the functions of this Ninja Foodi. I send a smile filled with gratitude to You and your videographer.
Thank you so much for the fantastic comment !! Marc
Great demo and video!
Thanks Camilo for the awesome comment and for watching! - J 🤙
Amazing !! Thanks so much. Cheers. Marc
Thanks so much for the great comment and fantastic tips. Thanks for watching !! Cheers. Marc
I had just recently bought the exact same Ninja Foodie Deluxe and I was overwhelmed with all the features and a bit scared of the pressure cooker part of it until I watched your great video, you did a super job on your demonstration thank you for doing this !!
Wow thanks so much for your generous words. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care. Marc
Thanks for the suggestion! Marc
Thank you!
Thanks so much, glad we could help! - J
Top quality video, I'm new to the ninja cooker but the fact you've spent your time has been educational for me and should be many others also.
Wow thanks so much for the great comment! - J
Jamie , I wish u were my neighbor, u r such a happy person. And cooking ok . U r not worried about any results!
Thanks for the nice comment! - J
SO glad I found your channel! Just got this as a Christmas gift. It will be here Thursday. All the time I spent dropping hints that I wanted it, and I have no idea how to use all the features I am hearing about! LOL You are my new friend!
This is such a fantastic comment ! Thanks so much. Check out our other videos cooking with the ninja ! Cheers my friend. ! Marc
Fantastic suggestion !! Thanks for the comment and the tip ! Cheers - Marc
I realised you line up the 'lock' symbols, instructions say 'arrows', took a few attempts to realise!
Hey there !! Thanks so much for the fantastic comment. We love getting feedback like this. Thanks for watching !! Marc
Confused between buying this or the new Ninja foodie max 12 in 1. The two lids in this one are really putting me off but i love the rest of the features. Not sure which one is better. What would you recommend??
We reviewed that one too. Check it out.

Wow that’s amazing ! Thanks so much for the comment and for watching. Marc
You realize you dont have to hold the steam release, just flick it to release it will continue to release the steam by its self.
Where were you when we were filming! Lol thanks for watching! - J
@@TheAverageKitchen it sure helps if you read the instructions first LOL
So we've learned! - J
Haha I was an OG NES guy too. Ahhhh memories!! Let us know how you like it ! Marc.
Great review, I hate the ones from the manufacturers when the people using them are experts. I'm going to buy one now, thanks again
That’s a fantastic comment ! Thanks so much for watching and the feedback. Cheers. Marc.
Gotta say this is the most informative and friendly video I've watched about this contraption. I just got one and had no idea what to do with it and so many other videos just confused me more. Thanks for this!
Such a fantastic comment. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers. Marc !!
I just bought this model on Amazon and was looking for ideas as I'm excited to get going with it. You managed to cram an awful lot of informative stuff, with a dose of humor into this review. With each recipe you left wiggle room for personal taste. I just subscribed and will be looking at your other videos.
Thanks Bob for the amazing comment! Hope you like our other videos. - J
Thanks Bob ! Fantastic comment !! Marc
So which potato cutter did you use to make the fries?
Just a manual cutter. Not very expensive. I’ve had it forever. Marc
Thanks for the amazing comment! Let us know how it goes! - J
I have mone since last year, and used it only 3 times, so I was ready to sell it.now I decided to keep it after all! Thank you!
That's great, glad to hear it! - J
Great point. I’ve def taken some heat on using that spoon ! Lesson learned. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe!!! - Marc
Thank you so much! I just purchased my Ninja Foodi Deluxe. You taught me much! I love my new gadget!
Thanks awesome, we're so glad to hear! - J
Wow thanks for the amazing comment ! Hope you love it ! Marc
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! - J
The advantage of pressure cooking over steaming will be time saved and tenderness when cooking a full chicken or piece of brisket.
Absolutely! Marc
Super detailed video! Lots of information and tips! Loved it!
Thanks for the great comment ! - Marc
Really great review!! Had been looking at basic air fryer but now am sold on this. Thanks for doing this!!
Thanks Wanda !! I got a spectacular deal on it around Christmas at Canadian Tire. $199. Regular $359. Just FYI - Marc
I agree with all of your points !! Thanks for watching !!! Cheers. Marc.

Thanks for the great comment! - J
Wow such great feedback. Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy the air fryer. Thanks for watching ! Marc
Exactly. Wondering why hasn't the timer started for initial pre-wash steam before use?? Because takes 10 minutes reach maximum capacity.(wld have been useful in the instructions). And yes, use a knife/long handle touch steam release valve. Thank you for explaining that!🙏🙂
Thanks for the great comment. Don’t forget to subscribe. 🍻- Marc

Hi, I just bought one yesterday and I made the first recipe in the book that came with it. A whole chicken it was delicious. I just asked an extra 5-10 minutes to be more crispy. I’m happy with it so far. I enjoyed your video. Thank you 😊
Thanks for the feedback !! Marc
Cheers. - Marc
I start with hot water from my dispenser or while you prepare the food
Add water first put controls on sauté then peal your carrots or prepare asparagus or what ever then when you load it put it on Pressure cooker and it will come up to pressure faster
Awesome!! Marc
you can get two different baskets, including an awesome one from the ninja website, for this, and also you can in fact use bertoli olive oil, i would use the high heat specifically, spray which has no additives but is aerosol so it's safe, and people who use it with their air fryer say the results are pretty amazing.
oh and you have to do the fries twice, that's why none of them came out right, low heat to cook and soften a bit, little browning, blast high heat to form a dense incredible crust, i actually want to try blasting some fries with the bertoli right before the high heat to see if it adds more crust
Amazing !! Thanks for the great tips ! I’ll have to try that !! Marc
Thank you very much for this! I was using mine for the first time and I've never used a pressure cooker before. I wasn't sure what to do when the timer started counting up and I thought I messed up. I was worried I had released the pressure too soon, but this video cleared it up.
Glad we could help! - J
I bought 8" round parchment paper sheets with holes that I use in air fryer basket and on racks (100/pkg from Ebay). Easy cleanup and protects finish on the basket. I can even rinse them off and reuse. You will love them.
Wow cool ! I’ll have to look for those !! Marc
Just ordered some to try !! Marc
Great technique!! Thanks so much for watching. Marc
The older I get the more I like the kiss principle in all aspects of my life:
KISS, an acronym for keep it simple, stupid, is a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal in design, and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.
Thanks for the awesome comment !!! I agree with the KISS principle 100%. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Marc
Great points. Thanks for watching !! Marc
I watched several videos yours is by far the best someone gave me a brand new cooker with no manuals or anyting I learned so much I feel like I'm already going to be a pro can't wait to do my chicken wings best speaker best explainer and just a fun guy to watch have a blessed cooking day 👍

Thanks so much for the great comment! - J
Thank you so much for your this fantastic walk through 9 different tests review!!!
I have researched lots of reviews on this specific Ninja and by far you are the greatest t!!!
So many reviews are boring and beyond words on how annoying that after 30 seconds its unbearable, yours's was so much fun I even sheared with my friends :)
I was sceptical comparing this machine with other similar brands ( same price range ) I am definitely going ahead and buy this model as you so well demonstrated and explaining step by step how to get perfect results!!!
Bravo sir !!! Wish you all the best and hopefully more videos like this one.
Wish you all the best!!!
Wow thanks so my for the very kind words !! We really appreciate you watching and your comment. Take care. Marc
Just FYI usually you can lift and rotate the pressure release valve and lock it into the "open" position so you don't have to hold it while the pressure expels. Great review :)
Cheers thanks ! Marc
Thanks!!! 👍
I appreciate your insight and your great comment. Thanks so much for watching. Cheers. Marc

I am thinking about buying this and your review made me want to buy it more! Just one issue, pressure cooking scares me so much.
I usually don't either, but apparently you're "supposed" to. - J
im just bought this amazing thing and i was just finding another video on TH-cam about this foodie cause i wanted to avoid to read and try the manual said. but WOW i spend the whole 32:26 Minutes watching you. you got a talent on this keep doing it !! amazing and very detail video THANK YOU PARCERO.

Laughing out loud reading these comments! Haven't yet watched this entire video, but am relating to the fear of a pressure cooker! You're suppose to wait until the valve goes down inside. It pops up when it is fully pressurized, and down again when it is ready to open valve and remove lid. That takes about 15 minutes after it is done cooking, if you had the valve closed on pressure cooking.
Haha wish we'd known that sooner! - J
HahaHaha@@TheAverageKitchen
Wow such an awesome story ! Thanks for sharing ! Marc

A really good job demonstrating this machine. I have a Cosori 6qt air fryer and an instant pot. I have to say that the only thing I don't like here is the round air fryer basket. After owning both round and square I concur with others that say a square basket is much more efficient.

In your opinion does this air fry better than the Ninja 2-basket air fryer? Deciding between the two. I already have an instant pot though I wouldn't mind consolidating. But if the air fryer portion is better I'll get the other.
Personally. I would take this one over the two basket. I think it’s more versatile. But it depends on your needs. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Marc

Apparently, to get your sweet potato fries crispier, it's best to dust them with flour first. I've tried it (not in a Ninja, mine arrives next week) but in our air fryer and oven. But I tend to use too much flour.
Interesting. I’ll have to try that. Thanks so much for the comment. - Marc
I have used a recipe from Pinterest for sweet potato fries in the oven that calls for dusting with cornstarch, and that worked well.
Good to know !! Thanks. Marc

Wow thanks so much for the kind words. Hope you enjoy the ninja as much as I do !! Marc
Watching this as I wait on my. Ninja being delivered. Informative and entertaining at the same time!
Thanks so much for watching ! Did u get a chance to check out the newest review we did on a different ninja ? Cheers. Marc
@@TheAverageKitchen it said it was the 2021 review so I assume it’s the latest! Still waiting on delivery by the way! 🙄
Thanks so much for the fantastic comment !! Marc
Thank you for your informative how to use this duo combination pressure cooker and air fryer,
I have been looking one of this gadget for a few month, as my kitchen helper.
Glad u enjoyed the video. Marc
Thanks. I eventually figured it out lol. Marc
@@TheAverageKitchen - I checked the majority of the comments to see if anyone had mentioned it yet. Three years live and I was the first. Every video I looked at on how to use the Ninja Foodie, the person runs into the exact same problem. I gave one of these to my mom a few months ago and she was terrified to use the pressure cooker, so I'm sending her links to videos (including this one) on how to use it
BTW - I've had mine for nearly 5 years and I had no idea I could make eggs with it. THANKS!
Hahaha. Cheers
That's awesome! Thanks for watching and keep us posted! - J
Just bought one, used only twice so far with good outcomes, enjoyed your review and learned a number of things too... 🤔💯%
Thank you very much for watching and for the comment. Cheers. Marc
I would like to know if there is a problem with smoking when you air fry.
I’ve never experienced that ! Marc
