    • @StephanBranczyk
      @StephanBranczyk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Or perhaps way slower. After all, driverless cars can't go inside a restaurant and ask why the food is not ready yet. And when they deliver the food, they depend on the person coming out to get it, they can't just go into your apartment building and bring it up.

    • @DrakeOola
      @DrakeOola 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StephanBranczyk That's why you mount a couple drones to the roof with charging ports on the landing pads. Not economical to send out hundreds of drones traveling hundreds of miles due to battery life restrictions but if you automate the process and have it drive a car to a midpoint for current orders then dispatch the drones in all directions it drastically cuts down on delivery time and also solves the automation process... Lotta infrastructure required but we can make mailmen obsolete, still need a driver in cars even if they're self driving for laws and liability reasons but they'll be able to nap in the car while everything is automated...
      If the idea ever takes off it wouldn't be hard to get restaurants on board when they're promised automated delivery services for a tiny cut of the profit... All they would need to do is have a location where drones pick up the food in compatible containers, everything else would be automated although the customer would have to designate a drop off point but if you add live tracking to the drone they'd know exactly when to go outside, it could give them a 1 minute heads up to step outside and even home in on phone gps location for accurate drop off. Amazon already uses drones in certain locations to deliver packages.
      Wouldn't be hard to modify it for restaurant's and stores and it would cost a fraction of the price pizza delivery services spend on actual workers since a 30 minute drive would be minimum of 10 dollars for the hour it takes a driver to go there and back to store... So much money to be made from an idea like that, you could cut delivery fees in half and put drivers out of business while still making a killing since the only cost is a couple cents worth of electricity compared to thousands spent on gas moving a 2000 pound vehicle to deliver a 2 pound pizza... Just don't understand how postal services haven't done this yet. Could even charge a monthly membership for drone delivery service and even set custom delivery times and have completely accurate delivery estimations rather than just "your package will arrive today from 9 am to 9 pm"

      Almost certainly these guys had their third partner staged at a discount store near the studio. As soon as the push alert came in on his phone, he sprinted into the store, picked up the item, and pedaled the last few blocks to the studio. Unless the producers knew ahead of time that Glen was going to ask for a tennis ball thrower, this is pretty much how it had to have been done. Think about it: it would have taken the courier at least fifteen minutes to get past studio security and through makeup, and even that would have been blazingly fast. It's possible there was only a tiny selection of items on the app, and the courier had one of each with him.
