R.I.P. Billy Kametz…his performance as Raidou and Maruki in Atlus games alone were stellar and while I didn’t know of most of his other work, I can respect his talent and dedication. Well actually, it still could happen to release HD remastered port of Raidou duology. I mean the only voice that can give to Raidou is just battle grunts. Or Billy did voice Gouto as well.

As for Matt Mercer as Raidou, could be good fitting for Raidou; then again I do get feel of Yusuke Kitagawa vibe in the atmosphere. My suggestion would be Roger Craig Smith to be perfect candidate for Raidou, despite voicing as Sonic; but I believe he can do one hell of a job as Raidou. As for Gouto voice could be possible to bring Patrick Seitz to reprise role from the Soul Hacker game. Or perhaps, Atlus decided to keep the games as mute and reading along with the text dialogue instead. Either way, that would be up to Atlus if they wanted to add voices in the game or not?
It strains believability to have a character keep talking while the other stays silent, but to have TWO characters be completely silent while a third person does all the talking just comes off looking ridiculous.
As hilarious as it is, it is pretty jarring to have TWO silent characters. At least in IV:A's case, they gave the previous protagonists speaking roles.
God damn, gotou mannerisms is charming as hell.. The voice fit the moniker of cool black cat.. Hope Raidou & Gotou gain a new popularity, and maybe it will lead to their spin off game or new series..
Heck, even HD Remasters of Raidou 1 & 2 would be nice. Atlus could give the games the same kind of face-lifts like they did with Nocturne here......it'd be nice to have the game officially playable without OG Hardware and $500+ worth of rare PS2 games...
As much as I love this theme, I do wish they gave Raidou his own music instead of just reusing Dante’s theme. Imagine having him chase you with Go Raidou! Playing and the boss them from one of his games playing while you fight.
Technically, it's not Dante's theme. Dante was added in a special edition version in Japan, which was the version originally used worldwide. It's just the theme used by for this battle.

When I first played the Raidou Kuzunoha series on PS2, I always figured if Gotou were to have a voice, he would sound something like Wesker from RE5. A deep yet collected all business like voice. Then this game happens... and lo and behold, he sounds literally EXACTLY like I always imagined him, to a T. His voice couldn't be any more perfect.
Dante 5th Kalpa: Heads - Dante costs 1 Macca Tails - Dante costs half your Macca Raidou 5th Kalpa: Left Tile - Raidou gives you 100,000 Macca Right Tile - Raidou gives you one Macca Raidou joins you no matter what and he gives you money if you pick the left tile while Dante will just toss a coin to see if you can guess a "heads only" coin to make him cost practically nothing. Both characters have the same set of skills so that you don't have to fork over the money if you don't want Dante from Atlus. Overall Dante is good fanservice over the years and he breaks up the monotony of demons by adding him into the story but Raidou is good smt fanservice and he comes with you free of cost while also giving you either a small amount of money or a huge amount of money.
Fun fact: raidou was actuslly better than dante pre remake, as raidou had a pierce skill, while dante didnt. In the remaster, dante's skill (roundabout i think? One of his phys skills) gained pierce, so the two are about equal
Great as if Dante wasn't terrifying enough now I have to deal with Raidou that's even more terrifying when you recall of the feats, and accomplishments Raidou and his party of demons have pulled off.
Raidou got stalemated in his battle with the demi fiend. Dante could've won. But it doesn't matter. Both are op. Being superior to Mido is no joke. Guy is a transcendent entity similar to Stephen.

my memorys a bit fuzzy but back in the first smt game on the snes it was the currency that the world replaced yen with once the world went to a hell. One of the npc's I think basically exchanges all your yen for macca, I think the rate was 100 yen per 1 macca?
Raidou is a very experienced devil summoner so I wouldn't be suprised if he was battling and negotiating with demons on his way to meet demi-fiend which would allow him to easily rack up mecca.
A voiced gouto would be pretty nice if raidou was ever remade/remastered. Though that would be fairly odd with how the game is fairly outdated with the systems
I gladly buy a remastered of Raidou duology or a trilogy if they decide to make a third game (just like how .hack/GU receive the 4th installment with previous trilogy being remastered). But if they ever made a remaster, I hope they include a voice acting this time. Raidou games felt so bland without voice acting. I need to know how Narumi sound like.
I agree. When raidou starts chanting, it's like ' holy shit he's gonna banish me' or something, but i feel as if Dante is a little more easy going toward demi-fiend, but only by a little bit. They're both scary as hell though, given they'll hunt you down through the 3rd kalpa. Both work well in their own respects, IMO
It's actually extremely unwise to just keep grinding ad nauseum in Nocturne, because MC's moveset is determined by his Magatama. Basically, they're these special bug things you obtain throughout the game, and depending on the Magatama you have equipped when you level up you can learn a new move. But you can only have one Magatama active at any given moment, and also each magatama has a certain move pool that must be learned in order. So basically, if you just keep grinding for EXP and Macca you'd inevitably ruin your build.
@@HunterStiles651 The magatama have level restrictions on learning skills anyway. Plus the level cap increases a lot anyway, so there’s some time to just take advantage of the stat benefits of the magatama you comfortable with.
You know at first I was kinda disappointed the devs didn’t make dante be in the base game. But on the other hand, raidou and gouto fit so much better in the story then dante ever could. Plus enter yoshitsune is MUCH more fun to watch then one of the combos from dmc 2, and FAR more entertaining to mock voice act cause of his out of nowhere entrance.
It has to do with controversy with Chinese and Korean Markets dealing with the Imperial Japanese like Uniform. I do like to see Raidou appear more games.
I haven't played 3 yet, but having watched both the Raidou and Dante versions of these videos... Raidou definately has his charm, but I must say it feels like a shame that the story beats were so clearly written for Dante first.
