First I have to say that Priscilla is THE BEST. She made me laugh out loud several times in today's vlogs. She is so real and naturally funny, you can tell she isn't trying, she just is a great at making people smile and laugh. So many good things in this vlog. Loved the scene at the pumpkin patch, loved "cooking with Priscilla" and loved seeing Abbie at the table and watching you guys carve pumpkins as a family.
You guys have the BEST senses of humour. There are so many great lines in this video I couldn't begin to list them! Priscilla, your laugh makes my day! xoxox Heather🇨🇦
While I do not personally know anyone who has been affected by autism, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your vlogs. As a 29 year old who was recently diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer, I have been in desperate need of some positivity and hope. Your family embodies that in such a realistic way, and I just want you to know that it has made a lasting impact on how I'm choosing to fight my own battles. I appreciate your candid approach to life's struggles, and am personally stronger for it. Much love to you.
I can relate so much to this , with Abbie at the pizza place. I attempted to take my autistic toddlers trick or treating and my daughter had a meltdown at literally the first house. It LOOKED as if she was just being a brat having a toddler tantrum over candy but it was just sensory overload. We dropped her off at the house with daddy and I took out son out. It was one of the many harder times I faced , as I just couldn’t hold back my tears. She was all dressed up and cute but ended up having to miss out. 😓
It's great that your family work as a team. We don't celebrate Halloween in India, still I enjoyed watching you guys. Lots of love for your family and may God bless you.
Love you guys!! Been watching fir a few weeks now and I'm addicted!!! You have inspired me to think about utilizing my company and have a fundraiser for autism! I think my family and employees think I'm crazy because I constantly talk about your family and everything that I've learned about autism lol. Keep it up!
Omg I would pay Abby to clean the guts out for me. That’s so cool you found a way to incorporate her into something she prob dosnt care about but ends up loving. Love your vlogs!
Love how involved y’all are. Doing all the things! Great inserts of Halloween’s past costumes. Jack o Lanterns looked so awesome! The ketchup (catch-up) joke had me like 😏 💜
Please don't be so hard on yourselves when an outing has to be ended! I know you don't want to reinforce attention seeking behavior. But, Abbie's successes with outings far outweigh the negatives. You are all just fantastic!😃
I appreciate Isaiah’s costume! I knew who he was and he didn’t use blackface! Thank you for that! (Not trying to bring the channel down). I really just appreciate the dressing up w/o the foulness of racism! Love you guys a lot!
Hannah I see where you're coming from, but it's ignorant. Back in the day instead of hiring black actors they would use white people and paint their faces black in an intentionally unflattering way to mock black people. It's not necessarily the point of painting your face black as much as it is the racism and hate it's associated with. A white person wearing a mask of a black person is different because it wasn't first done as a way to belittle and hate at an entire race, and honestly most people would agree a black person painting their face white to play a white character is also just as stupid, and it's not something you see to often. The color of the skin isn't the reason you pick the characters to be in the first place.
I live in South Africa and most people don't get offended by face paint here. We don't even use the term 'blackface', because we just don't need a word for a white person wearing black face paint. It's a person wearing black/white/yellow/whatever face paint, that's all. Paint is just paint, just like words are just words. It's the intention behind those things that counts for me. A white person painting their face black to match the character they're dressing up as is totally fine to me, as long as the intention behind it is not 'let's degrade black people!'. Same goes for a black person painting their face white for the same reason. Most people don't paint their face when dressing up as someone from a different race anyway. Most body and face painting is done for cultural reasons or as a form of art. I don't get how some people don't see the massive double standard when claiming that something is only racist when it's done to a black person. Racism is racism. It doesn't matter if it happens to a black, white, coloured (that's what we call mixed people in South Africa) or Asian person.
Violet Heroine In South Africa it wouldn't be offensive because it doesn't have the same historical context as it does here in America. No one has the right to tell someone else what they should be offended by.
Yeah, I know. Of course I have the right to tell people they shouldn't be offended by things that weren't done with a bad intention. Just like everyone else has the right to just ignore my opinion or tell me that they think my opinion is wrong or stupid. It's just my own personal opinion in the end and everyone should have (and has, in most western countries) the right to voice their own opinion, as long as it doesn't qualify as libel, slander or some similar criminal offence.
Violet Heroine of course I didn't mean that we literally don't have the right to do so. I meant that telling people what they should be offended by is inconsiderate and rude. Especially when you do not fully understand why they are offended in the first place.
I know this is from a long time ago so I don’t know if you’ll even see this but our family always cooks the pumpkin seeds with certain seasonings and they are AMAZING! They are absolutely addicting and what the entire family looks forward to.
I had a teacher that told me do your best and flush the rest . You do your very best with Abby and a great job of educating us on Autism . I enjoy your vlogs.
"She was a pumpkin hoarder!"..... BAHAHHA! Made my Halloween night after eight hours of internship and six hours of work.... You guys are so funny and awesome!!!
Forgot to add wanted to say what an awesome pumpkin that was, that you made Asa, so cool with Abbie's name and the puzzel pieces, that looked so amazing in the dark!! 😊
I love "cooking with Priscilla" segments! I tried the recipe and loved it just switched up a few things, but never thought to put the veggies with it like that and my daughter loved it! She's not a veggie girl but she loves her chicken and pasta :) thanks so much! I love your videos!❤❤❤
On Sunday my mom and her BF and I were carving pumpkins and I did more playing with the pumpkin guts and seeds then carving! It felt so good on my hands!
I just wanted to say thank you! I'm from Australia and found your channel a few weeks ago and have watched nearly all your videos now. I work at a grocery store and had a family with 2 severely autistic children came into today. Their Mum was almost in tears because I used all the information from your channel to help them get their groceries done. So thank you from Australia! Ps- I told them about you guys and they were grateful to know that they weren't alone. 😊😊
jeommy kin I was able to take them to a different register further away from all the noise and the loads of people where it was a much cleaner environment and the lights are even a little dimmer in that part of the store due to a Halloween display that was being taken down. I also was able to reassure the mother that the noises her children were making were ok. Her usual carers that helped her were off this week with the flu, so she had do all her usual tasks with her children.
Great job on the pumpkins! They look awesome! I agree with Abbie, pumpkin guts are wonderful. They squish, fling well, and sometimes pop out a seed. The game costumes are a cool idea. Very creative. I wish my family would do a theme costume, like the Addams Family. We all have moments where we have to remove ourselves from situations, don’t feel bad. You are awesome parents and are “doing an excellent job”. Asa, would you consider doing a series on being a good husband? I love all the compliments you give Pricilla. The love and joy the two of you have in each other and found is rare. What a great way to model marriage to your kids.
Its 4.30 am here in uk when i heard the notification bell i was up ready to watch i can honestly say you are amazing parents i love your channel you have touched many peoples heart including mine and taught so many about autism and abby who also teaches so many about autism but also for people to see the beautiful and amazing girl not just the autistic girl and izaya is a great young man and a great brother. xx
LOL at 21:00 Priscilla says "Extra light olive oil is like diet olive oil." I can't tell if that was a knowing smirk she makes right after. At holidays my family always deadpanned that every dish was "low calorie."
I’m so glad I found y’alls channel. My 2 year old daughter isn’t autistic (that we know of) but was born profoundly deaf because of genetic mutation and the communication barrier despite everything we’ve done/continue to do is really difficult to cope with at times. Having a child with a disability can be so frustrating& discouraging ..seeing how patient you guys are is amazing as I still struggle with it, still. Can’t wait for future videos!
I'm glad you found us too. I think it will always be difficult to cope with but like anything else you fall into a routine and life just becomes normal. It becomes your normal. We still struggle daily and have new challenges daily. We just learn from it.
“Next thing you know there will be duck tape wrapped around it” “i always get sucked into these things. 1 year i was grapes” 🤣🤣I love your family. Priscilla remind me of my mom. such a beautiful, positive, awesome women.
I went too Culinary school in Portland anyways I make this with shrimp too but when everything cooking before I put the heavy cream in I put a cup of white win brings out some much more flavor.
Garlic is a staple in our house to! If not fresh or ground I have garlic powder as a back up! So I love the garlic too! Great dinner! My boys would love chicken Alfredo too! Love the idea of zucchini in it with the onions! I have used broccoli and cauliflower in ours before.
lol!! I forgot Asa got those new Apple AirPods!! I'm just sitting here watching and thinking to myself, "Wow, he really knows how to rock those earrings and doesn't seem to care what others may/may not think!!" 😂 YUP! I'm a dork!! Love you guys!! Each vlog teaches me something new. Thank You!!
Guessed Isaiah's costume right when I saw it. LoL My son won't wear stuff on his head either. Last year he was a piece of pizza, and this year he was a pirate...minus the head scarf of course. :)
I love these vlogs. I want to study the effects of autism and disability’s that it causes on the brain. I have a person I know with severe Down syndrome that can barley talk and I really like watching how you deal with your child and I use it in my everyday life with this person I know.
