Aside from changing the lyrics in the first verse, this was kickin! Have always loved the entire Art of Tea disc. This band is so rockin' underneath Micheal's sweet/gentle vocals. GREAT POST - thanks for sharing this gem!
It really took e twenty years back in the early two thousand to find out Michael Frank's was a white guy.he has the smoothest voice of all time. I love me some Michael Frank's.
Michael Franks is a BOSS A MASTERFUL lyricist beyond compare!💓💓💓😇🙏 bwana he no home.. Sanpaku. Mr Smooth One bad habit dear park ...on and on His body of work makes him one of THE ALL TIME GREATS💓💓💓💓💓💓 .
Note the change in lyrics from the original: "every night we fuss & fight like ----" Not that one can blame him. Who would have ever imagined humanity could decline so low (again) as currently ?
Nice jammin version of this old favorite! Wonder why you can't hear a note his back-up singer is singing? (sounds like someone forgot to turn her mic on, or put a battery in it)...
To everyone out there that might have had to tolerate my length some comment the other night I apologize to everyone it has been a while much too long since the last time I was blessed with listening to my all-time favorite lyrical angel from heaven mr. Michael Franks. Once again although this time I will give every effort not to be selfish take up so much time Etc etc. I would just like to say once again and reminisce a brief moment about the first time that I had gone to see mr. Franks in concert in 1976 in Fort Lauderdale Florida my hometown. I've grown up in a musical family on all four sides and it is in my blood. I have been addicted from early early age to music and can honestly say that I have experienced all genres at one time or another but my home in heart or with the band that sings the songs. Michael that night in Fort Lauderdale I can remember as clear as yesterday how unbelievably exciting wonderful stimulating the list goes on and on of that very evening. I took the the most beautiful blond girl you ever laid your eyes on way above my league in every sense of the word to that concert. I took the chance of going to the concert with no tickets just knowing that I would somehow secure the two best seats humanly possible at that very moment in time. I have always rolled like that and have always been blessed from somewhere above nothing due to my own power except confidence and conviction. I purchased from a gentleman outside two tickets at the very last row in the first section dead center. Not bad taking a chance huh? Well sir and everyone listening out there as the girl and I walked in a very beautiful obviously wealthy couple got up walked towards us to exit and as they approached us they ask me if I would like two front row seats to watch the show which was just getting ready to start. Duh tickets please! To make a long story short it was all I could do not to just keep breathing or scream with joy and excitement having no idea really what I actually was in for. Second paragraph here we go lights please, my girl who am I kidding my girl more like this unbelievable like I said way out of my League girl sit down and one gift that I have always possessed since a young child is that I always get a clear picture of what is about to take place a fraction of a second before it does and this gift which I learned about at the age of 6 from my mom's mom who passed it on to me only explain to me at that young age that someday I would come to understand it and it would protect me prepare me and be with me the rest of my life. Anyway the concert starts the lights go down there was not another night ever created that was just sparkling energy filled in the air with cosmic energy. The performers along with mr. Franks
For some reason the comment board would not let me finish any further. That had to be somehow on purpose because I am so damn long-winded. The concert starts and as always exceeds all expectations from the very beginning. Somewhere into the Third song I blurred out a comment to mr. Franks stating two words only, which were sweet voice. Mr. French stops everything and replies back to me did you just say I am a sweet boy? I didn't know whether to pee my pants or run out of there with embarrassment but I stood my ground and I said no I said you have a sweet voice he asked my name I think I told them and the show went on it is the most magical moment in all of the concerts that I've ever been to and I can tell you about thanks again Hyster freights always my sincere love
Since someone else mentioned it, yeah.....it sorta sticks out like a sore thumb. I mean, just a bad choice of a guitarist....when I saw Michael Franks in NY in the 80's, his guitarists were hollow-body players; much more apropos for Michael Franks songs.....
Just your opinion, I happen to think it works very well. Michael has impeccable taste and I think every guitarist he has worked with had something to bring to the overall sound same and the same goes for every other instrument. Listen to Nicky Moroch on Objects of Desire for example. I don't understand why people think it's ok to express their taste by writing things so offensive to musicians who are almost certainly on a different planet than they are. Carlos Vega apparently committed suicide because he didn't feel respected. Think before you write down your hate, it means nothing to you but could really hurt someone.
I thought it was great. What should he be doing in concert - stumbling around worn out clichés? Trying to reproduce the polished studio gems of Larry Carlton and company? I suppose you hated the sax solo too.
Michael is the epitome of cool smooth. I'm lovin that bass too. "That's all it is Peaches": Love that line😊❤❤
MF changed my taste in music, still listening after 40 years. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Crusaders with vocals
That bassist kills it when he takes a turn.
Why is it some artists can really touch your heart.?
Like Al Jerrau this unique talent is a shining beacon in the majestic tapestry of jazz.
These musicians love their craft...really! Michael always has the best backup musicians in the business. ALOHA and Mahalo from Hawaii, Michael!!!♡

No other than the frank man.feb2022.

No. He should've left them in.

What’s that instrument called that Michael Franks is playing ?
Is that a young Anthony Jackson on bass? Guitarist Azolina played with Spyro Gyra.

Japanese music is not so popular in the West. Same goes for classical music.

What a terrible guitar solo...

Yeah, this might be the worst guitar tone I've heard in awhile.
Larry Carlton used to be his guitarist
